GOD USING FOREIGN ARMIES TO DO HIS WILL IN BRINGING DISASTER.

Psalm 119:89-91 Forever, O LORD, Your word is settled in heaven. 90Your faithfulness continues throughout all generations; You established the earth, and it stands. 91They stand this day according to Your ordinances, For all things are Your servants.

Yes, all things, the elements, animals, pagans, demons, the devil…. are God’s servants in the sense that they all perform His Sovereign Will. God calls the pagan king Cyrus His anointed, His Shepherd.  God calls the pagan king Nebuchadnezzar His servant at least 3 times.

1.     Exodus 32:12  Why should the Egyptians say, ‘With evil intent did he bring them out, to kill them in the mountains and to consume them from the face of the earth’? Turn from your burning anger and relent from this DISASTER AGAINST YOUr people.

2.     1 Kings 21:21 Behold, WILL BRING DISASTER upon you. I will utterly burn you up, and will cut off from Ahab every male, bond or free, in Israel.

3.     1 Kings 21:29 “Have you seen how Ahab has humbled himself before me? Because he has humbled himself before me, I will not bring the DISASTER in his days; but in his son’s days I WILL BRING the DISASTER upon his house.”

4.     2 Kings 21:12 therefore thus says the Lord, the God of Israel: Behold, I AM BRINGING upon Jerusalem and Judah such DISASTER that the ears of everyone who hears of it will tingle.

5.     2 Kings 22:16 Thus says the Lord, Behold, I WILL BRING DISASTER upon this place and upon its inhabitants, all the words of the book that the king of Judah has read.

6.     2 Kings 22:20 Therefore, behold, I will gather you to your fathers, and you shall be gathered to your grave in peace, and your eyes shall not see all the DISASTER that I WILL BRING upon this place.’” And they brought back word to the king.

7.     2 Chronicles 34:24 Thus says the Lord, Behold, I WILL BRING DISASTER upon this place and upon its inhabitants, all the curses that are written in the book that was read before the king of Judah.

8.     2 Chronicles 34:28 Behold, I will gather you to your fathers, and you shall be gathered to your grave in peace, and your eyes shall not see all the DISASTER that I WILL BRING upon this place and its inhabitants.’” And they brought back word to the king.

9.     Nehemiah 13:18 Did not your fathers act in this way, and did not our God bring all this DISASTER on us and on this city? Now you are bringing more wrath on Israel by profaning the Sabbath.”

10.  Job 9:23 When DISASTER brings sudden death, he mocks at the calamity of the innocent.

11.  Isaiah 31:2 And yet he is wise and bringDISASTER; he does not call back his words, but will arise against the house of the evildoers and against the helpers of those who work iniquity.

12.  Jeremiah 4:6 Raise a standard toward Zion, flee for safety, stay not, for I bringDISASTER from the north, and great destruction.

13.  Jeremiah 6:19 Hear, O earth; behold, I AM BRINGING DISASTER upon this people, the fruit of their devices, because they have not paid attention to my words; and as for my law, they have rejected it.

14.  Jeremiah 11:11 Therefore, thus says the Lord, Behold, I AM BRINGING DISASTERupon them that they cannot escape. Though they cry to me, I will not listen to them.

15.  Jeremiah 11:23 and none of them shall be left. For I WILL BRING DISASTER upon the men of Anathoth, the year of their punishment.”

16.  Jeremiah 19:3 You shall say, ‘Hear the word of the Lord, O kings of Judah andinhabitants of Jerusalem. Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: Behold, I AM BRINGING such DISASTER upon this place that the ears of everyone who hears of it will tingle.

17.  Jeremiah 19:15 “Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, behold, I AM BRINGING upon this city and upon all its towns all the DISASTER that I have pronounced against it, because they have stiffened their neck, refusing to hear my words.”

18.  Jeremiah 23:12 Therefore their way shall be to them like slippery paths in the darkness, into which they shall be driven and fall, for I WILL BRING DISASTER upon themin the year of their punishment, declares the Lord.

19.  Jeremiah 32:42 “For thus says the Lord: Just as I have brought all this greatDISASTER upon this people, so I WILL BRING upon them all the good that I promise them.

20.  Jeremiah 35:17 Therefore, thus says the Lord, the God of hosts, the God of Israel: Behold, I AM BRINGING upon Judah and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem all theDISASTER that I have pronounced against them, because I have spoken to them and they have not listened, I have called to them and they have not answered.”

21.  Jeremiah 36:31 And I will punish him and his offspring and his servants for theiriniquity. I WILL BRING upon them and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem and upon the people of Judah all the DISASTER that I have pronounced against them, but they would not hear.’”

22.  Jeremiah 42:17 All the men who set their faces to go to Egypt to live there shall die by the sword, by famine, and by pestilence. They shall have no remnant or survivor from theDISASTER that I WILL BRING upon them.

23.  Jeremiah 45:5 And do you seek great things for yourself? Seek them not, for behold, I AM BRINGING DISASTER upon all flesh, declares the Lord. But I will give you your life as a prize of war in all places to which you may go.”

24.  Jeremiah 49:37 I will terrify Elam before their enemies and before those who seek their life. I WILL BRING DISASTER upon them, my fierce anger, declares the Lord. I will send the sword after them, until I have consumed them,

25.  Jeremiah 51:64 and say, ‘Thus shall Babylon sink, to rise no more, because of theDISASTER that I AM BRINGING upon her, and they shall become exhausted.’” Thus far are the words of Jeremiah.

26.  Zechariah 8:14 For thus says the Lord of hosts: “As I purposed to bring DISASTER to you when your fathers provoked me to wrath, and I did not relent, says the Lord of hosts,

27.  Jeremiah 5:15 Behold, I AM BRINGING AGAINST YOU a nation from afar, O house of Israel, declares the Lord.  It is an enduring nation; it is an ancient nation, a nation whose language you do not know, nor can you understand what they say.

28.             Jeremiah 34:21-22 And Zedekiah king of Judah and his officials I will give into the hand of their enemies and into the hand of those who seek their lives, into the hand of the army of the king of Babylon which has withdrawn from you. 22 Behold, I will command, declares the Lord, and will bring them back to this city. And they will fight against it and take it and burn it with fire. I will make the cities of Judah a desolation without inhabitant.”

29.             Deuteronomy 28:49 49 The Lord will bring a nation AGAINST YOU from far away, from the end of the earth, swooping down like the eagle, a nation whose language you do not understand,

30.             Jeremiah 1:15 15 For behold, I am calling all the tribes of the kingdoms of the north, declares the Lord, and they shall come, and every one shall set his throne at the entrance of the gates of Jerusalem, against all its walls all around and against all the cities of Judah.

31.             Amos 6:14  14 “For behold, I will raise up AGAINST YOU a nation, O house of Israel,” declares the Lord, the God of hosts; “and they shall oppress you from Lebo-hamath to the Brook of the Arabah.”

32.  Jeremiah 5:15-17 15 Behold, I AM BRINGING AGAINST YOU
a nation from afar, O house of Israel, declares the Lord.  It is an enduring nation; it is an ancient nation, a nation whose language you do not know, nor can you understand what they say. 16 Their quiver is like an open tomb; they are all mighty warriors.
17 They shall eat up your harvest and your food; they shall eat up your sons and your daughters; they shall eat up your flocks and your herds; they shall eat up your vines and your fig trees; your fortified cities in which you trust they shall beat down with the sword.”

33.  Jeremiah 6:22-23  22 Thus says the Lord: “Behold, a people is coming from the north country, a great nation is stirring from the farthest parts of the earth.23 They lay hold on bow and Javelin; they are cruel and have no mercy; the sound of them is like the roaring sea;
they ride on horses, set in array as a man for battle, AGAINST YOU, O daughter of Zion!”

34.  Isaiah 5:26-30 26 He will raise a signal for nations far away, and whistle for them from the ends of the earth; and behold, quickly, speedily they come! 27 None is weary, none stumbles, none slumbers or sleeps,not a waistband is loose, not a sandal strap broken;28 their arrows are sharp, all their bows bent, their horses’ hoofs seem like flint, and their wheels like the whirlwind. 29 Their roaring is like a lion, like young lions they roar; they growl and seize their prey; they carry it off, and none can rescue.
30 They will growl over it on that day, like the growling of the sea.
And if one looks to the land, behold, darkness and distress; and the light is darkened by its clouds.

34.1  Isaiah 7:17  The Lord will bring upon you and upon your people and upon your father's house such days as have not come since the day that Ephraim departed from Judah—the king of Assyria.”

34.2  Isaiah 10:5
Ah, Assyria, the rod of my anger;
    the staff in their hands is my fury!
Against a godless nation I send him,
    and against the people of my wrath I command him,
to take spoil and seize plunder,
    and to tread them down like the mire of the streets.

35.             Jeremiah 25:9 behold, I will send for all the tribes of the north, declares the Lord, and for Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, MY SERVANT, and I WILL BRING them against this land and its inhabitants, and against all these surrounding nations. I will devote them to destruction, and make them a horror, a hissing, and an everlasting desolation.

36.  Jeremiah 27:6 Now I have given all these lands into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon, MY SERVANT, and I have given him also the beasts of the field to serve him.

37.  Jeremiah 43:10 and say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: Behold, I will send and take Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, MY SERVANT, and I will set his throne above these stones that I have hidden, and he will spread his royal canopy over them.

37.1  Jeremiah 51:11
Sharpen the arrows, fill the quivers!
The Lord has aroused the spirit of the kings of the Medes,
Because His purpose is against Babylon to destroy it;
For it is the vengeance of the Lord, vengeance for His temple.

37.2  Jeremiah 51:20  He says“You are My war-club, My weapon of war;
And with you I shatter nations, And with you I destroy kingdoms.

21 “With you I shatter the horse and his rider,
And with you I shatter the chariot and its rider,
22 And with you I shatter man and woman,
And with you I shatter old man and youth,
And with you I shatter young man and virgin,
23 And with you I shatter the shepherd and his flock,
And with you I shatter the farmer and his team,
And with you I shatter governors and prefects.

38.  Isaiah 44:28 who says of Cyrus, ‘He is MY SHEPHERD, and he shall fulfill all my purpose’; saying of Jerusalem, ‘She shall be built,’ and of the temple, ‘Your foundation shall be laid.’”

39.  Isaiah 45:1  Cyrus, God’s Instrument 45 Thus says the Lord to his ANOINTED, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have grasped, to subdue nations before him and to loose the belts of kings, to open doors before him that gates may not be closed:

40.  Ezekiel 29:18-2018 “Son of man, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon made his army labor hard against Tyre. Every head was made bald, and every shoulder was rubbed bare, yet neither he nor his army got anything from Tyre to pay for the labor that he had performed against her. 19 Therefore thus says the Lord God: Behold, I will give the land of Egypt to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon; and he shall carry off its wealth and despoil it and plunder it; and it shall be the wages for his army. 20 I have given him the land of Egypt as his payment for which he labored, because they worked for me, declares the Lord God.

41.  Ezekiel 30:8  Then they will know that I am the Lord, when I have set fire to Egypt, and all her helpers are broken.

42.  Ezekiel 30:23-25  I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations and disperse them through the countries. 24 And I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon and put my sword in his hand, but I will break the arms of Pharaoh, and he will groan before him like a man mortally wounded. 25 I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon, but the arms of Pharaoh shall fall. Then they shall know that I am the Lord, when I put my sword into the hand of the king of Babylon and he stretches it out against the land of Egypt.

43.  Ezekiel 21:3  and say to the land of Israel, Thus says the Lord: Behold, I am against you and will draw my sword from its sheath and will cut off from you both righteous and wicked.

44.  Ezekiel 30:25 I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon, but the arms of Pharaoh shall fall.Then they shall know that I am the Lord, when I put my sword into the hand of the king of Babylon and he stretches it out against the land of Egypt.

45.   Matthew 22:5-8 But they paid no attention and went off, one to his farm, another to his business,while the rest seized his servants, treated them shamefully, and killed them. The king was angry, and HE SENT HIS TROOPS AND DESTROYED THOSE MURDERERS AND BURNED THEIR CITY. Then he said to his servants, ‘The wedding feast is ready, but those invited were not worthy.

46. Luke 21:20  “But when you see JERUSALEM SURROUNDED BY ARMIES, then know that its desolation has come near.
