THE NEW JERUSALEM CAME ALREADY!

Hebrews 11:10 For he was looking forward to the city that has foundations, whose designer and builder is God.

13 These all died in faith, not having received the things promised, but having seen them and greeted them from afar, and having acknowledged that they were strangers and exiles on the earth. 14 For people who speak thus make it clear that they are seeking a homeland. 15 If they had been thinking of that land from which they had gone out, they would have had opportunity to return. 16 But as it is, they desire a better country, that is, a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared for them a city.

Hebrews 12:18- 24 For you have not come to what may be touched, a blazing fire and darkness and gloom and a tempest 19 and the sound of a trumpet and a voice whose words made the hearers beg that no further messages be spoken to them. 20 For they could not endure the order that was given, “If even a beast touches the mountain, it shall be stoned.” 21 Indeed, so terrifying was the sight that Moses said, “I tremble with fear.” 22 But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to innumerable angels in festal gathering, 23 and to the assembly of the firstborn who are enrolled in heaven, and to God, the judge of all, and to the spirits of the righteous made perfect, 24 and to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better word than the blood of Abel.

The events within The Book of Revelation are said to soon take place, the time is near, coming quickly, at ****Noticed how the writer of Hebrews states that the saints HAVE COME, past tense, to Mount Zion, The Heavenly Jerusalem.  The book of Hebrews was written around 65AD.

Hebrews 13:14 For here we have no lasting city, but we seek the city that is to come.

The events within The Book of Revelation are said to soon take place, the time is near, coming quickly, at hand?
*Was not The Book of Revelation written to the 7 churches thatare in Asia? 1:4
ARE SOON AND NEAR LONGER THAN 2000YEARS? DOES I AM COMING QUICKLY MEAN HE’LL BE DELAYED FOR 2000 PLUS YEARS?  If God wanted people to know that Hewas coming quickly, shortly, soon, at hand, near, what language would He then use?
See Rev.1:1,3, 7, 9-11; 22:6, 7, 10, 12, 20

Revelation 3:12  The onewho conquers, I will make him a pillar in the temple of my God. Never shall he go out of it, and I will write on him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, THE NEW JERUSALEM, which comes down from my God out of heaven, and my own new name.

Revelation 21:2 And I saw the holy city, NEW JERUSALEM, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

Revelation 21:10-14 And he carried me away in the Spirit to a great, high mountain, and showed me the holy city Jerusalem coming down out of heaven from God, 11 having the glory of God, its radiance like a mostrare jewel, like a jasper, clear as crystal. 12 It had a great, high wall, with twelve gates, and atthe gates twelve angels, and on the gates the names of the twelve tribes of thesons of Israel were inscribed— 13 on the east three gates, on the north three gates, on the south threegates, and on the west three gates. 14 And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, andon them were the twelve names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.

The NEW JERUSALEM OR THE HEAVENLY JERUSALEM IS THE EKKLESIA!

Galatians 4:21-31

English Standard Version (ESV)

Example of Hagar and Sarah

21 Tell me, you who desire to be under the law, do you not listen to the law? 22 For it is written that Abraham had two sons, one by a slave woman and one by a free woman. 23 But the son of the slave was born according to the flesh, while the son of the free woman was born through promise.24 Now this may be interpreted allegorically: these women are twocovenants. One is from Mount Sinai, bearing children for slavery; she is Hagar. 25 Now Hagar is Mount Sinai in Arabia; she corresponds to the present Jerusalem, for she is in slavery with her children. 26 But the Jerusalem above is free, and she is our mother. 27 For it is written,
“Rejoice, O barren one who does not bear;
break forth and cry aloud, you who are not in labor!
For the children of the desolate one will be more
than those of the one who has a husband.”
28 Now you, brothers, like Isaac, are children of promise. 29 But just as at that time he who was born according to the flesh persecuted him who was born according to the Spirit, so also it is now. 30 But what does the Scripture say? “Cast out the slave woman and her son, for the son of the slave woman shall not inherit with the son of the free woman.” 31 So, brothers, we are not children of the slave but of the free woman.

GOD INDWELLS AND DWELLS IN HIS NEW TEMPLE NOW

I keep hearing dispensationalists say that there’s going to be a rebuilding of the temple in Jerusalem.  The New Testament makes no mention of a rebuilding of the Jewish temple.  Jesus is the new temple and those in Christ are God’s temple.  To rebuild the Jewish temple would be to return to the shadows, the law and death.

Remember, The Bible was NOT written TO or FOR us in 21st century.  It was written to the church in Rome, Corinth, Ephesus, and to people like Timothy, Titus...  What would the imminence of being built up as a spiritual house mean if it was going to happen TO and FOR the recipients of 1 Peter?  Would "SPIRITUAL" house be a physical reality? nope.  Or a spiritual reality?  Yep.  Plus, the Bible story ended by 70AD.
  1. Ezekiel 37:26-8  I will make a covenant of peace with them. It shall be an everlasting covenant with them. And I will set them in their land and multiply them, and will set my sanctuary in their midst forevermore.  27My dwelling place shall be with them, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. 28 Thenthe nations will know that I am the Lord who sanctifies Israel, when my sanctuary is in their midst forevermore.”
  2. John 14: 23 Jesus answered him, “If anyone loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him.
  3. Romans 8:11  If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead DWELLs in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who DWELLs in you.
  4. 1 Corinthians 3:16  Do you not know that you are God's TEMPLE and that God's Spirit DWELLs in you?
  5. 2 Corinthians 6:16  What agreement has the TEMPLE of God with idols? For WE ARE THE TEMPLE OF THE LIVING GOD; as God said, “I WILL MAKE MY DWELLINGAMONG THEM AND WALK AMONG THEM, AND I WILL BE THEIR GOD, AND THEY SHALL BE MY PEOPLE.
  6. Ephesians 2:22  In him you also are being built together into a DWELLing place for God by the Spirit.
  7. Hebrews 3:4-6 (For every house is built by someone, but the builder of all things is God.) Now Moses was faithful in all God's house as a servant, to testify to the things that were to be spoken later, but Christ is faithful over God's house as a son. And we are his house if indeed we hold fast our confidence and our boasting in our hope.

  8. 1 Peter 2:5  you yourselves like living stones are being built up as a SPIRITUAL HOUSE, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.
  9. 1 Cor 3:9 For we are God's fellow workers. You are God's field, God's BUILDING.
  10. Revelation 21:3  And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the DWELLing place of God is with man. He will DWELL with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God.
