W.H.O.INTERPRETS THE BIBLE
Remember, The Bible was NOT written TO you in the 21st century but TO certain people like Timothy, Titus; and churches, The Church in Rome, Corinth, Galatia... The Bible was written FOR us in that the Truths of the Gospel, sin, God, Yeshua are relevant.

W ords of the text, in context. All words have meaning. God’s words communicate God’s thoughts to us! Genre-The type of literature. Accordingly particular rules of interpretation will apply to each kind of writing; Historical Narrative, poetry and wisdom, or prophetic writings.

Historic setting. The time of the writing, the writer and his purpose, and those to whom the message was addressed must be considered! *Audience relevance is so important because the Bible was NOT written “to” us in 21st century but “for” us. Many readers are very egotistic in that they constantly read themselves into the text.

O ther Bible Texts. The Bible has unity of doctrine. We must compare Scripture with Scripture to seethe whole picture (This is known as the analogy of faith put forth and taught by The Protestant Reformers.).

The Bible was written during a specific Historic context.

Much of the following passages use apocalyptic language which comes right out of the Old Testament. Most modern day Christians err in assuming this is literal language.

1. PETER SAID…

2. I Peter 4:5 “They shall give account to HIM WHO IS READY TO JUDGE THE LIVING AND THE DEAD.”

3. ***How long is "is ready?"

4/5. I Peter 4:7 “THE END OF ALL THINGS IS AT HAND therefore, be of sound judgment and sober spirit for the purpose of prayer.”

6. ***When Peter said "THE END OF ALL THINGS IS AT HAND" in the 1st century, did the "all things" come to an end already?

7. I Peter 4:17 “FOR IT IS TIME FOR JUDGMENT TO BEGIN with the household of God.”

8/9. I Peter 5:1 “…as your fellow elder and witness of the sufferings of Christ, and a partaker also of THE GLORY THAT IS ABOUT TO BE REVEALED.”

10. ***How long is "about to be revealed?"

11. I Peter 5.4 And WHEN THE CHIEF SHEPHERD APPEARS, YOU WILL RECEIVE the crown of glory that will never fade away.

13. ***Peter speaking to 1st century diaspora, that at appearance of The Cheif Shepherd that they would receive the crown of glory, did it happen?

14. PAUL SAID…

15. II Thess.1:6-10 For after all it is only just for GOD TO REPAY WITH AFFLICTION THOSE WHO

AFFLICT YOU, 7 and to GIVE RELIEF TO YOU who are afflicted and to us as well

WHEN THE LORD JESUS WILL BE REVEALED FROM HEAVEN WITH HIS MIGHTY ANGELS IN

FLAMING FIRE, 8 DEALING OUT RETRIBUTION TO THOSE WHO DO NOT KNOW GOD AND TO

THOSE WHO DO NOT OBEY THE GOSPEL OF OUR LORD JESUS. 9 These will pay the

penalty of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the

glory of His power, 10 WHEN HE COMES TO BE GLORIFIED IN HIS SAINTS ON THAT DAY,

AND TO BE MARVELED AT AMONG ALL WHO HAVE BELIEVED—for our testimony to you was

believed.

16. *WERE THE THESSALONIANS AFFLICTED? DID PAUL NOT WRITE TO THEM THAT GOD WOULD GIVE THEM RELIEF WHEN JESUS WOULD BE REVEALED FROM HEAVEN…? IS PAUL A FALSE PROPHET OR DID JESUS AFFLICT THE THESSALONNIAN PERSECUTORS AND GIVE THEM RELIEF?

17. Rom. 13:11-12 “IT IS ALREADY THE HOUR FOR YOU TO AWAKEN FROM SLEEP FOR NOW SALVATION IS NEARER TO US THAN WHEN WE BELIEVED. The night is almost gone, AND THE DAY IS AT HAND.”

18. *IS NOT PAUL SAYING THAT SALVATION IS NOW NEAR TO THE 1ST CENTURY ROMAN CHRISTIANS?

19. Rom. 16:20 “The God of peace WILL SOON CRUSH SATAN under your feet.”

20. *HOW LONG IS SOON? IS SOON STILL GOING ON OR WAS SATAN CRUSHED?

21. 1Corinthians 1:7-8 so that you are not lacking in any gift, AWAITING EAGERLY THE REVELATION OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST, 8 who will also confirm you to THE END, blameless IN THE DAY OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST.

22. WHAT SENSE WOULD IT MAKE TO THE CORINTHIANS FOR PAUL TO TELL THEM THE ABOVE IF JESUS WASN’T GOING TO SHOW UNTIL 2000 YEARS?

23. I Cor.7.25-31 Now about virgins: I have no command from the Lord, but I give a judgment as one who by the Lord’s mercy is trustworthy. 26Because of THE PRESENT CRISIS, I think that it is good for you to remain as you are. 27Are you married? Do not seek a divorce. Are you unmarried? Do not look for a wife. 28But if you do marry, you have not sinned and if a virgin marries, she has not sinned. But those who marry will face many troubles in this life, and I want to spare you this. 29What I mean, brothers, is that THE TIME IS SHORT. From now on those who have wives should live as if they had none 30those who mourn, as if they did not those who are happy, as if they were not those who buy something, as if it were not theirs to keep 31those who use the things of the world, as if not engrossed in them. FOR THIS WORLD IN ITS PRESENT FORM IS PASSING AWAY.

25. JAMES SAID…

26. James. 5:7-9 “BE PATIENT, THEREFORE, BRETHREN, UNTIL THE COMING OF THE LORD.” 8 “You too be patient strengthen your hearts, FOR THE COMING OF THE LORD IS AT HAND.” 9 Don’t grumble against each other, brothers, or you will be judged. THE JUDGE IS STANDING AT THE DOOR!

27. *IF JESUS HAS NOT RETURNED TO THE 1ST CENTURY CHURCH JAMES WAS WRITING TO THEN HOW LONG HAS THE JUDGE BEEN STANDING AT THAT DOOR?

28. THE WRITER OF HEBREWS SAID…

29. Heb. 9:26-28 Otherwise, He would have needed to suffer often since the foundation of the world BUT NOW ONCE AT THE CONSUMMATION OF THE AGES He has been manifested to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself.27And inasmuch as it is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgment, 28 so Christ also, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, WILL APPEAR A SECOND TIME for salvation without reference to sin, TO THOSE WHO EAGERLY AWAIT HIM.

30. Heb. 10:25 not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as a custom of certain [is], but exhorting, and so much the more as ye see THE DAY COMING NIGH.

32. *HOW LONG IS A VERY LITTLE WHILE?

33. I Jn. 2:17-18 “THE WORLD IS PASSING AWAY, and its desires.” 18 Children, IT IS THE LAST HOUR, and as you have heard that ANTICHRIST IS COMING, so NOW MANY ANTICHRISTS HAVE COME. Therefore we know that IT IS THE LAST HOUR.

34. *WERE NOT THE PRESENCE OF THE ANTICHRIST THE EVIDENCE JOHN POINTS OUT THAT IT WAS THE LAST HOUR DURING HIS TIME?

35. JESUS SAID….

Mark 8:38 9:1, 38, Luke 9:27
This was the one who had leaned back against Jesus at the supper and had said, “Lord, who is going to betray you?” When Peter saw him, he asked, “Lord, what about him?” Jesus answered, “IF I WANT HIM TO REMAIN ALIVE UNTIL I RETURN, WHAT IS THAT TO YOU? You must follow me.” Because of this, the rumor spread among the brothers that this disciple would not die. But Jesus did not say that he
would not die he only said, “If I want him to remain alive until I return, what is that to you?”

36. Matt. 10:23 “You shall not finish going through the cities of Israel, UNTIL THE SON OF MAN COMES.”

37. *IF JESUS SAID THIS TO YOU WOULD YOU THINK HE WAS TALKING ABOUT SOMEONE ELSE IN THE FUTURE?

38. Matt. 16:27-28 “THE SON OF MAN IS ABOUT TO COME IN THE GLORY OF HIS FATHER WITH HIS ANGELS and will then recompense every man according to his deeds.” THERE ARE SOME OF THOSE WHO ARE STANDING HERE WHO SHALL NOT TASTE DEATH UNTIL THEY SEE THE SON OF MAN COMING IN HIS KINGDOM.”

39. DID “SOME” OF JESUS’ DISCIPLES WHO WERE STANDING WITH HIM WHEN HE SPOKE THE ABOVE WORDS, LIVE TO SEE THE SON OF MAN COMING IN HIS KINGDOM? See John 21:

40. Jn. 21:20-23 Peter turned and saw that the disciple whom Jesus loved was following them.

41. *HAVE YOU EVER WONDERED WHY JESUS WOULD ASK SUCH A QUESTION?

42. Matt. 21:40-41,43,45 “’When the owner of the vineyard comes, what will he do to those vine-growers?’ ‘....He will bring those wretches to a wretched end, and will rent out the vineyard to other vine-growers, who will pay him the proceeds at the proper seasons.’ ‘....THEREFORE I SAY TO YOU, THE KINGDOM OF GOD WILL BE TAKEN AWAY FROM YOU, AND BE GIVEN TO A NATION PRODUCING THE FRUIT OF IT.’ ....WHEN THE CHIEF PRIESTS AND THE PHARISEES HEARD HIS PARABLES, THEY UNDERSTOOD THAT HE WAS SPEAKING ABOUT THEM.”

44. *ACCORDING TO THESE VERSES WAS THE KINGDOM OF GOD TAKEN AWAY FROM THE JEWS?

Matt 22.1-7 Jesus spoke to them (The Pharisees) again in parables, saying: 2”The kingdom of heaven is like a king who prepared a wedding banquet for his son. 3He sent his servants to those who had been invited to the banquet to tell them to come, but they refused to come. 4”Then he sent some more servants and said, ‘Tell those who have been invited that I have prepared my dinner: My oxen and fattened cattle have been butchered, and everything is ready. Come to the wedding banquet.’ 5”But they paid no attention and went off—one to his field, another to his business. 6The rest seized his servants, mistreated them and killed them. 7 But THE KING WAS ENRAGED, AND HE SENT HIS ARMIES AND DESTROYED THOSE MURDERERS AND SET THEIR CITY ON FIRE.

46. *DID NOT GOD DESTROY THOSE WHO MURDERED JESUS AND THEIR CITY IN 70 AD?

47. Matt 23:33-37 “You snakes! You brood of vipers! How will you escape being condemned to hell? 34Therefore I am sending you prophets and wise men and teachers. Some of them you will kill and crucify others you will flog in your synagogues and pursue from town to town. 35And so upon you will come all the righteous blood that has been shed on earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zechariah son of Berekiah, whom you murdered between the temple and the altar.

48. Lk 11:49-51 “For this reason also the wisdom of God said, ‘I will send to them prophets and apostles, and some of them they will kill and some they will persecute, 50 so that the blood of all the prophets, shed since the foundation of the world, may be charged against THIS GENERATION, 51 from the blood of Abel to the blood of Zechariah, who was killed between the altar and the house of God yes, I tell you, it shall be charged against THIS GENERATION.’

49. *IS JESUS NOT BLAMING THE PHARISEES THAT HE IS SPEAKING TO AND TELLING THEM THAT THEY WILL BE THE ONES TO DO THESE THINGS AND BE HELD GUILTY?

50. Matt. 24:34 “THIS GENERATION WILL NOT PASS AWAY UNTIL ALL THESE THINGS TAKE PLACE.”

51. *IS JESUS NOT ANSWERING THE 3 QUESTIONS OF THE DISCIPLES FROM V3 IN V4-33 AND THEN STATING IN V34 THAT ALL THESE EVENTS FROM 4-33 WILL TAKE PLACE IN “THIS GENERATION” (THE

52. Matt. 26:63-64 But Jesus remained silent. The high priest said to him, “I charge you under oath by the living God: Tell us if you are the Christ, the Son of God.” {64} “Yes, it is as you say,” Jesus replied. “BUT I SAY TO ALL OF YOU: IN THE FUTURE YOU WILL SEE THE SON OF MAN SITTING AT THE RIGHT HAND OF THE MIGHTY ONE AND COMING ON THE CLOUDS OF HEAVEN.”

53. *IS NOT JESUS PRONOUNCING JUDGMENT ON THE JEWS OF HIS TIME? IS HE NOT STATING THAT THEY WILL SEE HIM? *IS HE NOT USING OLD TESTAMENT JUDGMENT LANGUAGE TO DIVINITY IN THAT GOD COMES ON THE CLOUDS OF HEAVEN AND THAT IS THE REASON THE PHARISEES WANT TO KILL HIM?

Lk 21.20-28 ”But when YOU SEE JERUSALEM SURROUNDED BY ARMIES, then recognize that HER DESOLATION IS NEAR. 21”Then those who are in Judea must flee to the mountains, and those who are in the midst of the city must leave, and those who are in the country must not enter the city 22because THESE ARE DAYS OF VENGEANCE, so that ALL THINGS WHICH ARE WRITTEN WILL BE FULFILLED. 23 ”Woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days for there will be great distress upon the land and wrath to this people 24and they will fall by the edge of the sword, and will be led captive into all the nations and Jerusalem will be trampled under foot by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled. 25”There will be signs in sun and moon and stars, and on the earth dismay among nations, in perplexity at the roaring of the sea and the waves, 26men fainting from fear and the expectation of the things which are coming upon the world for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 27”THEN THEY WILL SEE THE SON OF MAN COMING IN A CLOUD WITH POWER AND GREAT GLORY. 28”But when these things begin to take place, straighten up and lift up your heads, because YOUR REDEMPTION IS DRAWING NEAR.”

60. Rev.1.4 John, To the seven churches in the province of Asia: Grace and peace to you from him who is, and who was, and who is to come, and from the seven spirits[a] before his throne,

61. WAS THE BOOK OF REVELATION WRITTEN TO 21ST CENTURY CHRISTIANS?

62. Rev. 1.7 Look, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even THOSE WHO PIERCED HIM and all the peoples of the earth will mourn because of him. So shall it be! Amen.

63. *ARE THOSE WHO PIERCED JESUS STILL ALIVE? DOES THIS TELL YOU SOMETHING ABOUT THE TIMING OF JESUS COMING IN THE CLOUDS?

65. *DID YOU EVER NOTICE THAT JOHN SAID HE WAS IN THE TRIBULATION? DID YOU EVER NOTICE THAT THE BOOK OF REVELATION WAS WRITTEN TO THE 7 CHURCHES IN ASIA AND NOT TO YOU (IN THE 21ST CENTURY)?

66. Rev 2:5 ‘Therefore remember from where you have fallen, and repent and do the deeds you did at first or ELSE I AM COMING TO YOU and will remove your lampstand out of its place—unless you repent.

67. Rev 2:16 Repent therefore! Otherwise, I WILL SOON COME TO YOU and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth.

68. Rev. 2:25 “Nevertheless what YOU HAVE, HOLD FAST UNTIL I COME.”

69. Rev 3:3 ‘So remember what you have received and heard and keep it, and repent Therefore if you do not wake up, I WILL COME LIKE A THIEF, AND YOU WILL NOT KNOW AT WHAT HOUR I WILL COME TO YOU

70. *IS JESUS NOT PROMISING TO COME TO THESE CHURCHES?

71. Rev. 3:10 “I also WILL KEEP YOU FROM THE HOUR OF TESTING WHICH IS ABOUT TO COME UPON THE WHOLE WORLD.”

72. *DID JESUS KEEP THIS CHURCH FROM THE HOUR OF TESTING?

73. Rev. 3:11 I AM COMING SOON. Hold fast what you have, so that no one may seize your crown.

74. *HOW LONG IS SOON?

75. Rev 13:18 This calls for wisdom. If anyone has insight, let him calculate the number of the beast, for it is man's number. His number is 666.

76. IF YOU WERE PART OF THE FIRST CENTURY CHURCH WHO THE BOOK OF REVELATION WAS ADDRESSED TO, WHAT SENSE WOULD CALCULATING THE NUMBER OF THE BEAST MEAN TO YOU, IF THE BEAST WOULDN'T BE AROUND UNTIL 2000 + YEARS??? AUDIENCE RELEVANCE.

77. Rev. 22:6 And he said to me, "These words are trustworthy and true. And the Lord, the God of the spirits of the prophets, has sent his angel to show his servants WHAT MUST SOON TAKE PLACE."

78. Rev. 22:7 "And behold, I AM COMING SOON. Blessed is the one who keeps the words of the prophecy of this book."

79. Rev. 22:10 And he said to me, "Do not seal up the words of the prophecy of this book, FOR THE TIME IS NEAR.

**Notice how Daniel is told to seal up the vision for it concerns a distant future, yet John is told NOT to seal up the prophecy because the time is near.

80. Dan 8:26 “The vision of the evenings and mornings that has been given you is true, but SEAL UP THE VISION, FOR IT CONCERNS THE DISTANT FUTURE.

81. Rev. 22:12 “Behold, I AM COMING QUICKLY.”

82. Rev. 22:20 “Yes, I AM COMING QUICKLY.”

83. *ARE SOON AND NEAR LONGER THAN 2000 YEARS? DOES I AM COMING QUICKLY MEAN HE’LL BE DELAYED FOR 2000 PLUS YEARS?

84. JOHN THE BAPTIST SAID…

85. Lk. 3:7 “Who warned you to flee from THE WRATH ABOUT TO COME?”

86. Lk. 3:9 “The axe IS ALREADY LAID AT THE ROOT of the trees.“

87. Lk. 3:17 “HIS WINNOWING FORK IS IN HIS HAND to clear his threshing floor AND TO GATHER THE WHEAT INTO HIS BARN, but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire."

88. *IS NOT JOHN THE BAPTIST WARNING THE PHARISEES OF THE WRATH ABOUT TO COME? DOES HE NOT SAY THE AXE IS ALREADY LAID AT THE ROOT…? AND DOES HE NOT SAY THAT JESUS’ WINNOWING FORK IS IN HIS HAND
