Christians were Glorified in 70AD, at The Wedding of Christ and His Bride
By Tuese Ahkiong

Here are several verses that demonstrate an imminent glorification of the saints in the first century.  Remember, the Bible was not written TO us in the 21st century but FOR us.  We are reading other people's mail and should interpret the text in light of these letters being written TO other people.

Colossians 1:27
To them God chose to make known how great among the Gentiles are the riches of the GLORY of this mystery, which is CHRIST IN YOU,THE HOPE OF GLORY.

**Christ is the believer's glory and He who glorifies by His grace.

Colossians 3:4
When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in GLORY.

**Paul speaking to the Colossians of Christ appearing to them within their lifetime in which they will appear with Him in glory.

Romans 8:30
And those whom he predestined he also called, and those whom he called he also justified, and those whom he justified he also GLORIFIED.

**Paul is writing prior to the return of glorification as a done deal.  He is using a prolepsis in which he states a future event as having already occurred.

John 17:22-24 (YLT)
22 `And I,the GLORY that thou hast given to me, have given to them, that they may be one as we are one;
23 I in them, and Thou in me, that they may be perfected into one, and that the world may know that Thou didst send me, and didst love them as Thou didst love me.
24 `Father, those whom Thou hast given to me, I will that where I am they also may be with me, that they may behold my GLORY that Thou didst give to me, because Thou didst love me before the foundation of the world.

***The glorification is the work by which God makes His bride ready for marriage and intimacy by which the saint may know God deeply.

Romans 8:16-25
16 TheSpirit himself doth testify with our spirit, that we are children of God;
17 and if children, also heirs, heirs, indeed, of God, and heirs together of Christ --if, indeed, we suffer together, that WE MAY ALSO BE GLORIFIED TOGETHER.18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the GLORY that is to be revealed to us. 19 For THE CREATION waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God. 20 For THE CREATION was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of him who subjected it, in hope 21that THE CREATION itself will be set free from its bondage to corruption and obtain the freedom of the glory of the children of God. 22 For we know that the whole creation has been groaning together in the pains of childbirth until now. 23 And not only THE CREATION,but we ourselves, who have the first fruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies. 24 For in this hope we were saved. Now hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for what he sees? 25 But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience.

***Paul is sharing of the imminence of the revealing of the children of God, The Creation, adoption...

1Corinthians 2:7
But we impart a secret and hidden wisdom of God, which God decreed before the ages for our GLORY.

**The "for our" in this passage is Paul and his contemporary saints.

1Corinthians 15:42-49
So is it with the resurrection of the dead. What is sown is perishable; what is raised is imperishable. 43 It is sown in dishonor; IT IS RAISED IN GLORY. It is sown in weakness; it is raised
in power. 44 It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body. 45 Thus it is written, “The first man Adam became a living being”; the last Adam became a life-giving spirit. 46 But it is not the spiritual that is first but the natural, and then the spiritual. 47 The first man was from the earth, a man of dust; the second man is from heaven. 48 As was the man of dust, so also are those who are of the dust, and as is the man of heaven, so also are those who are of heaven. 49 Justas we have borne the image of the man of dust, we shall also bear the image of the man of heaven.

**The People of God are raised in glory in 70AD.

Ephesians 1:14
11 In him we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of him who works all things according to the counsel of his will, 12 so that we who were the first to hope in Christ might be to the praise of his glory13 In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, 14 14who is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of IT, to the praise of his GLORY.

**Paul includes himself as to acquiring possession of the inheritance.

2 Thessalonians 1:4-12
Therefore we ourselves boast about you in the churches of God for your steadfastness and faith in all your persecutions and in the afflictions that you are enduring.
This is evidence of the righteous judgment of God, that you may be considered worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you are also suffering— since indeed God considers it just to repay with affliction those who afflict you, and to grant relief to you who are afflicted as well as to us, when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with his mighty angels in flaming fire, inflicting vengeance on those who do not know God and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. 9 They will suffer the punishment of eternal destruction, away from the presence of theLord and from the glory of his might, 10 when he comes on that day to be GLORIFIED in his saints, and to be marveled at among all who have believed, because our testimony to you was believed. 11To this end we always pray for you, that our God may make you worthy of his calling and may fulfill every resolve for good and every work of faith by his power, 12 so that the name of ourLord Jesus may be GLORIFIED in you, and you in him, according to the grace ofour God and the Lord Jesus Christ. when he comes on that day to be GLORIFIED in his saints, and to be marveled at among all who have believed, because our testimony to you was believed.

**Paul speaks of Christ's return as imminent return to judge His people's enemy (the apostate jews) and to be GLORIFIED in His people.

2 Timothy2:10
Therefore I endure everything for the sake of the elect, that they also may obtain the salvation that is in Christ Jesus with eternal GLORY.

**Salvation is completed at the return of Christ.  Hebrews 9:28  so Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin but to save those who are eagerly waiting for him.

1 Peter 1:7
so that the tested genuineness of your faith—more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire—may be found to result in praise and GLORY and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

1 Peter4:13
But rejoice insofar as you share Christ's sufferings, that you may also rejoice and be glad when his GLORY is revealed.

1 Peter5:1-4 (YLT)
Elders who [are] among you, I exhort, who [am] a fellow-elder, and a witness of the sufferings of the Christ, and of the GLORY about to be revealed a partaker,
feed the flock of God that [is] among you, overseeing not constrainedly, but willingly, neither for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind,
neither as exercising lordship over the heritages, but patterns becoming of the flock,
and at the manifestation of the chief Shepherd, ye shall receive the unfading crown of GLORY.

1 Peter5:10
And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternalGLORY in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.

2 Peter 1:3-4
His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to  his own GLORY and excellence, 4 by which he has granted to us his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire.

**Peter also is teaching of Christ's imminent return in which He will reveal His glory to His people.

Revelation21:9-11
9 And there came unto me one of the seven messengers, who have the seven vials that are full of the seven last plagues, and he spake with me, saying, `Come, I will shew thee the bride of the Lamb --the wife,'
10 and he carried me away in the Spirit to a mountain great and high, and did shew to me the great city, the holy Jerusalem, coming down out of the heaven from God,
11 HAVING THE GLORY OF GOD, and her light [is] like a stone most precious, as a jasper stone clear as crystal,

**Christians are the bride of the lamb, the wife of Christ, the great city, the holy Jerusalem who HAVE THE GLORY OF GOD upon her.

Revelation21:23
And THE CITY has no need of sun or moon to shine on it, FOR THE GLORY OF GOD GIVES IT LIGHT, and its lamp is theLamb.

**Christians are The City of God whose light is the glory of God.
