Where The Christian Creeds Are WRONG by Tuese Ahkiong
The statements within the Creeds and Confessions are only good UNTIL they are shown to be incorrect by The Scripture and in need of correction and change. We are at that place for correction and change. I am challenging the Creeds, Confessions and church doctrines. Because the church has held a doctrine or idea for centuries does not make it True. The determining factor is evaluating every teaching in light of Scripture to see if it lines up. If it does not line up, chuck it, change it or correct it. If it does line up, praise God!
It is unwise to assume the teachings of the church, Creeds and Confessions are correct. Christians must be Bereans and test everything through examination by The Scriptures to see if the teaching is consistent. It is wrong to just simply assume a teaching without testing it. It is also a tragedy to continue in false teaching.
Truth has no fear of challenges! One time in an internet discussion, I was asked not to speak on "preterism" because it was not orthodox. Though I did not use the word, "preterism," and just challenged other Christians with questions and Scripture, I was asked to not share. Talk about feeling threatened! So much for an open discussion. Thought police are all around us. They can be your family and closest friend. They seek to bind the mind of believers to Creeds, Confessions and traditions of men.
So, who determines orthodoxy? This is an epistemological question. Is it some old dudes who codified their concepts of what they believe Scripture teaches in a Creed/ Confession or does Scripture Alone determine orthodoxy? I side with Scripture Alone. Christians at one time were lead to believe that keeping the 7 sacraments, doing penance, purchasing dead love ones out of purgatory with money was biblical until the Reformation came along. So, essentially, Christians were wrong on The Gospel for centuries. Creeds and Confessions and church traditions of men have been a blinding filter on the minds of saints through out the centuries.
Jude 1:3 Beloved, although I was very eager to write to you about our common salvation, I found it necessary to write appealing to you to contend for the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints.
Jude is writing to 1st century saints of the urgency to contend. He states that "The Faith (noun. body of knowledge defining The Christian Belief)" that was once for all delivered to the saints not in a Creed or Confession but in The Word of God.
Martin Luther was condemned by the Church as a heretic. John Huss, too, was condemned and executed (burned) as a heretic. Numerous saints throughout the ages have been condemned as heretics and executed by those who call themselves the church because they challenged "church orthodoxy."
THE APOSTLE'S CREED
I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth.
And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary; suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; HE DESCENDED INTO HELL (1); the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; FROM THENCE HE SHALL COME TO JUDGE THE QUICK AND THE DEAD. (2)
I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints;the forgiveness of sins; THE RESURRECTION OF THE BODY (3); and the life everlasting. Amen.
1) Please site the passage where Christ descends into hell. 1 Peter 3:18-20 does not mention hell. Please define hell? Is the word “hell” even biblical or are the creeds just regurgitating Catholic paganism?
2) The Creeds are written a few centuries after the NT. The Creed writers do not know what time it is? The Scripture teaches that the judgment was ABOUT TO and READY TO take place in the 1st century:
Acts 10:42 and he commanded us to preach to the people, and to testify fully that it is he who hath been ordained by God judge of living and dead --
2 Timothy 4:1 I do fully testify, then, before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who is ABOUT TO judge living and dead at his manifestation and his reign --
1 Peter 4:5 who shall give an account to Him who is READY TO judge living and dead,
3) "It is interesting to note that the Bible never uses the terms "resurrected body," "resurrection of the body," or "physical resurrection." Does that surprise you? The church uses those terms quite often, but the Bible never does. The phrases that the Bible does use are"the resurrection of the dead" and "the resurrection from the dead."" http://www.bereanbiblechurch.org/transcripts/philippians/3_11.htm
THE NICENE CREED
I believe in one God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible.
And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, begotten of the Father before all worlds, God of God, Light of Light, very God of very God, begotten, not made, being of one substance with the Father; by whom all things were made;who for us men, and for our salvation, came down from heaven, and was incarnate by the Holy Ghost of the Virgin Mary, and was made man, and was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate; He suffered and was buried; and the third day He rose again according to the Scriptures; and ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of the Father; and HE SHALL COME AGAIN WITH GLORY TO JUDGE THE QUICK AND THE DEAD (1); whose kingdom shall have no end.
AndI believe in the Holy Ghost, the Lord and Giver of life, who proceedeth from the Father and the Son; who with the Father and the Son together is worshiped and glorified; who spake by the Prophets. And I BELIEVE IN ONE HOLY CATHOLIC AND APOSTOLIC CHURCH (2). I acknowledge ONE BAPTISM FOR THE REMISSION OF SINS (3); and I LOOK FOR THE RESURRECTION OF THE DEAD(4), and the life of the world to come. Amen.

2) And this is not a building or denomination.
3) So many denominations goto WAR over baptism:sprinkling, submerging, pouring, infant, believer. Is Scripture’s definition of baptism strictly water baptism? Nope. Is Baptism now obsolete? Yes.

Good job! Nicene Creed, you got the right terminology here: "the resurrection of the dead."" http://www.bereanbiblechurch.org/transcripts/philippians/3_11.htm
THE ATHANASIAN CREED
Written against the Arians.
Whosoever will be saved, before all things it is necessary that he hold the catholic faith. Which faith except every one do keep whole and undefiled, without doubt he shall perish everlastingly.
And the catholic faith is this, that we worship one God in Trinity, and Trinity inUnity; Neither confounding the Persons, nor dividing the Substance. For there is one Person of the Father, another of the Son, and another of the Holy Ghost. But the Godhead of the Father, of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost is all one:the glory equal, the majesty coeternal. Such as the Father is, such is the Son,and such is the Holy Ghost. The Father uncreated, the Son uncreated, and theHoly Ghost uncreated. The Father incomprehensible, the Son incomprehensible, and the Holy Ghost incomprehensible. The Father eternal, the Son eternal, and the Holy Ghost eternal. And yet they are not three Eternals, but one Eternal. As there are not three Uncreated nor three Incomprehensibles, but one Uncreated and one Incomprehensible. So likewise the Father is almighty, the Son almighty, and the Holy Ghost almighty. And yet they are not three Almighties, but oneAlmighty. So the Father is God, the Son is God, and the Holy Ghost is God. And yet they are not three Gods, but one God. So likewise the Father is Lord, theSon Lord, and the Holy Ghost Lord. And yet not three Lords, but one Lord. For like as we are compelled by the Christian verity to acknowledge every Person byHimself to be God and Lord, So are we forbidden by the catholic religion to say, There be three Gods, or three Lords.
TheFather is made of none: neither created nor begotten. The Son is of the Father alone; not made, nor created, but begotten. The Holy Ghost is of the Father and of the Son: neither made, nor created, nor begotten, but proceeding. So there is one Father, not three Fathers; one Son, not three Sons; one Holy Ghost, not three Holy Ghosts. And in this Trinity none is before or after other; none is greater or less than another; But the whole three Persons are coeternal together, and coequal: so that in all things, as is aforesaid, the Unity inTrinity and the Trinity in Unity is to be worshiped. HE, THEREFORE, THAT WILL BE SAVED MUST THUS THINK OF THE TRINITY (1).
FURTHERMORE, IT IS NECESSARY TO EVERLASTING SALVATION THAT HE ALSO BELIEVE FAITHFULLY THE INCARNATION OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST (2). For the right faith is, that we believe and confess that our Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, is God and Man;God of the Substance of the Father, begotten before the worlds; and Man of the substance of His mother, born in the world; Perfect God and perfect Man, of a reasonable soul and human flesh subsisting. Equal to the Father as touching HisGodhead, and inferior to the Father as touching His manhood; Who, although Hebe God and Man, yet He is not two, but one Christ: One, not by conversion of the Godhead into flesh, but by taking the manhood into God; One altogether; not by confusion of Substance, but by unity of Person. For as the reasonable soul and flesh is one man, so God and Man is one Christ; Who suffered for our salvation; DESCENDED INTO HELL (3),rose again the third day from the dead; He ascended into heaven; He sitteth on the right hand of the Father, God Almighty; FROM WHENCE HE SHALL COME TO JUDGE THE QUICK AND THE DEAD (4). AT WHOSE COMING ALL MEN SHALL RISE AGAIN WITH THEIR BODIES, AND SHALL GIVE AN ACCOUNT OF THEIR OWN WORKS. AND THEY THAT HAVE DONE GOOD SHALL GO INTO LIFE EVERLASTING; AND THEY THAT HAVE DONE EVIL, INTO EVERLASTING FIRE (5).
THIS IS THE CATHOLIC FAITH; WHICH EXCEPT A MAN BELIEVE FAITHFULLY AND FIRMLY, HE CANNOT BE SAVED (6).
1) Did the thief on the cross believe in The Trinity in order to goto Paradise? Luke 23:43
Was the jailer who asked what must he do to be saved told to believe in The Trinity? Acts 16:31
Does one need to have all their doctrine straight ac 5()cording to The Creeds to be saved or does one simply need to believe upon The Lord Yeshua??
2) See above? Where in Scripture does it teach that believing in the incarnation is necessary for salvation? LEGALIST love Creeds and rules. A legalist is one who believes that one must obey rules to be in right relationship with God.
3) Please site the passage where Christ descends into hell. 1 Peter 3:18-20 does not mention hell. Please define hell? Is the word “hell” even biblical or are the creeds just regurgitating Catholic paganism?
4) The Creeds are written a few centuries after the NT. The Creed writers do not know what time it is? The Scripture teaches that the judgment was ABOUT TO and READY TO take place in the 1st century:

1 Peter 4:5 who shall give an account to Him who is READY TO judge living and dead,
5) Again, Creedalists DO NOT KNOW WHAT TIME IT IS! The judgment took place already in 70 A.D. So, what's this "all men shall rise again with their bodies" nonsense?
6) LEGALISM. Believe upon The Apostle's Creed (though not written by The Apostles), Nicene Creed and Athanasian Creed and thou shalt be saved.
Uh, what happened to: “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved...?"
Acts 16:29-31
29 And the jailer called for lights and rushed in, and trembling with fear he fell down before Paul and Silas.30 Then he brought them out and said, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” 31 And they said, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.”
CREEDALISTS LOVE LEGALISM- They want everyone to OBEY their rules to be saved.
