KINGS OF ISRAEL
















1.      1 Samuel 24:14 “Against whom has the KING OF ISRAEL come out? Who are you pursuing? A dead dog? A flea?

 

2.      1 Samuel 26:20 Now do not let my blood fall to the ground far from the presence of the Lord. The KING OF ISRAEL has come out to look for a flea—as one hunts a partridge in the mountains.”

 

3.      1 Samuel 29:3 The commanders of the Philistines asked, “What about these Hebrews?” Achish replied, “Is this not David, who was an officer of Saul KING OF ISRAEL? He has already been with me for over a year, and from the day he left Saul until now, I have found no fault in him.”

 

4.      2 Samuel 6:20

When David returned home to bless his household, Michal daughter of Saul came out to meet him and said, “How the KING OF ISRAEL has distinguished himself today, going around half-naked in full view of the slave girls of his servants as any vulgar fellow would!”

 

5.      1 Kings 15:9  Asa King of Judah

In the twentieth year of Jeroboam KING OF ISRAEL, Asa became king of Judah,

 

6.      1 Kings 15:16 There was war between Asa and Baasha KING OF ISRAEL throughout their reigns.

 

7.      1 Kings 15:17 Baasha KING OF ISRAEL went up against Judah and fortified Ramah to prevent anyone from leaving or entering the territory of Asa king of Judah.

 

8.      1 Kings 15:19 “Let there be a treaty between me and you,” he said, “as there was between my father and your father. See, I am sending you a gift of silver and gold. Now break your treaty with Baasha KING OF ISRAEL so he will withdraw from me.”

 

9.      1 Kings 15:25 Nadab KING OF ISRAEL

Nadab son of Jeroboam became KING OF ISRAEL in the second year of Asa king of Judah, and he reigned over Israel two years.

 

10.    1 Kings 15:32 There was war between Asa and Baasha KING OF ISRAEL throughout their reigns.

 

11.    1 Kings 15:33 Baasha KING OF ISRAEL

In the third year of Asa king of Judah, Baasha son of Ahijah became king of all Israel in Tirzah, and he reigned twenty-four years.

 

12.    1 Kings 16:8  Elah KING OF ISRAEL

In the twenty-sixth year of Asa king of Judah, Elah son of Baasha became KING OF ISRAEL, and he reigned in Tirzah two years.

 

13.    1 Kings 16:15  Zimri KING OF ISRAEL

In the twenty-seventh year of Asa king of Judah, Zimri reigned in Tirzah seven days. The army was encamped near Gibbethon, a Philistine town.

 

14.    1 Kings 16:21  Omri KING OF ISRAEL

Then the people of Israel were split into two factions; half supported Tibni son of Ginath for king, and the other half supported Omri.

 

15.    1 Kings 16:23  In the thirty-first year of Asa king of Judah, Omri became KING OF ISRAEL, and he reigned twelve years, six of them in Tirzah.

 

16.    1 Kings 16:29  Ahab Becomes KING OF ISRAEL

In the thirty-eighth year of Asa king of Judah, Ahab son of Omri became KING OF ISRAEL, and he reigned in Samaria over Israel twenty-two years.

 

17.    1 Kings 20:2  He sent messengers into the city to Ahab KING OF ISRAEL, saying, “This is what Ben-Hadad says:

 

18.    1 Kings 20:4  The KING OF ISRAEL answered, “Just as you say, my lord the king. I and all I have are yours.”

 

19.    1 Kings 20:7  The KING OF ISRAEL summoned all the elders of the land and said to them, “See how this man is looking for trouble! When he sent for my wives and my children, my silver and my gold, I did not refuse him.”

 

20.    1 Kings 20:11  The KING OF ISRAEL answered, “Tell him: ‘One who puts on his armor should not boast like one who takes it off.’”

 

21.    1 Kings 20:13   Meanwhile a prophet came to Ahab KING OF ISRAEL and announced, “This is what the Lord says: ‘Do you see this vast army? I will give it into your hand today, and then you will know that I am the Lord.’”

 

22.    1 Kings 20:21  The KING OF ISRAEL advanced and overpowered the horses and chariots and inflicted heavy losses on the Arameans.

 

23.    1 Kings 20:22  Afterward, the prophet came to the KING OF ISRAEL and said, “Strengthen your position and see what must be done, because next spring the king of Aram will attack you again.”

 

24.    1 Kings 20:28  The man of God came up and told the KING OF ISRAEL, “This is what the Lord says: ‘Because the Arameans think the Lord is a god of the hills and not a god of the valleys, I will deliver this vast army into your hands, and you will know that I am the Lord.’”

 

25.    1 Kings 20:31  His officials said to him, “Look, we have heard that the kings of Israel are merciful. Let us go to the KING OF ISRAEL with sackcloth around our waists and ropes around our heads. Perhaps he will spare your life.”

 

26.    1 Kings 20:32  Wearing sackcloth around their waists and ropes around their heads, they went to the KING OF ISRAELand said, “Your servant Ben-Hadad says: ‘Please let me live.’” The king answered, “Is he still alive? He is my brother.”

 

27.    1 Kings 20:40  While your servant was busy here and there, the man disappeared.” “That is your sentence,” the KING OF ISRAEL said. “You have pronounced it yourself.”

 

28.    1 Kings 20:41  Then the prophet quickly removed the headband from his eyes, and the KING OF ISRAEL recognized him as one of the prophets.

 

29.    1 Kings 20:43  Sullen and angry, the KING OF ISRAEL went to his palace in Samaria.

 

30.    1 Kings 21:18  “Go down to meet Ahab KING OF ISRAEL, who rules in Samaria. He is now in Naboth’s vineyard, where he has gone to take possession of it.

 

31.    1 Kings 22:2  But in the third year Jehoshaphat king of Judah went down to see the KING OF ISRAEL.

 

32.    1 Kings 22:3  The KING OF ISRAEL had said to his officials, “Don’t you know that Ramoth Gilead belongs to us and yet we are doing nothing to retake it from the king of Aram?”

 

33.    1 Kings 22:4  So he asked Jehoshaphat, “Will you go with me to fight against Ramoth Gilead?” Jehoshaphat replied to the KING OF ISRAEL, “I am as you are, my people as your people, my horses as your horses.”

 

34.    1 Kings 22:5  But Jehoshaphat also said to the KING OF ISRAEL, “First seek the counsel of the Lord.”

 

35.    1 Kings 22:6  So the KING OF ISRAEL brought together the prophets—about four hundred men—and asked them, “Shall I go to war against Ramoth Gilead, or shall I refrain?” “Go,” they answered, “for the Lord will give it into the king’s hand.”

 

36.    1 Kings 22:8  The KING OF ISRAEL answered Jehoshaphat, “There is still one prophet through whom we can inquire of the Lord, but I hate him because he never prophesies anything good about me, but always bad. He is Micaiah son of Imlah.” “The king should not say such a thing,” Jehoshaphat replied.

 

37.    1 Kings 22:9  So the KING OF ISRAEL called one of his officials and said, “Bring Micaiah son of Imlah at once.”

 

38.    1 Kings 22:10  Dressed in their royal robes, the KING OF ISRAEL and Jehoshaphat king of Judah were sitting on their thrones at the threshing floor by the entrance of the gate of Samaria, with all the prophets prophesying before them.

 

39.    1 Kings 22:18  The KING OF ISRAEL said to Jehoshaphat, “Didn’t I tell you that he never prophesies anything good about me, but only bad?”

 

40.    1 Kings 22:26  The KING OF ISRAEL then ordered, “Take Micaiah and send him back to Amon the ruler of the city and to Joash the king’s son

 

41.    1 Kings 22:29   So the KING OF ISRAEL and Jehoshaphat king of Judah went up to Ramoth Gilead.

 

42.    1 Kings 22:30  The KING OF ISRAEL said to Jehoshaphat, “I will enter the battle in disguise, but you wear your royal robes.” So the KING OF ISRAEL disguised himself and went into battle.

 

43.    1 Kings 22:31  Now the king of Aram had ordered his thirty-two chariot commanders, “Do not fight with anyone, small or great, except the KING OF ISRAEL.”

 

44.    1 Kings 22:32  When the chariot commanders saw Jehoshaphat, they thought, “Surely this is the KING OF ISRAEL.” So they turned to attack him, but when Jehoshaphat cried out,

 

45.    1 Kings 22:33  the chariot commanders saw that he was not the KING OF ISRAEL and stopped pursuing him.

 

46.    1 Kings 22:34  But someone drew his bow at random and hit the KING OF ISRAEL between the sections of his armor. The king told his chariot driver, “Wheel around and get me out of the fighting. I’ve been wounded.”

 

47.    1 Kings 22:41  Jehoshaphat King of Judah

Jehoshaphat son of Asa became king of Judah in the fourth year of Ahab KING OF ISRAEL.

 

48.    1 Kings 22:44  Jehoshaphat was also at peace with the KING OF ISRAEL.

 

49.    1 Kings 22:51  Ahaziah KING OF ISRAEL

Ahaziah son of Ahab became KING OF ISRAEL in Samaria in the seventeenth year of Jehoshaphat king of Judah, and he reigned over Israel two years.

 

50.    2 Kings 3:1  Joram son of Ahab became KING OF ISRAEL in Samaria in the eighteenth year of Jehoshaphat king of Judah, and he reigned twelve years.

 

51.    2 Kings 3:4  Now Mesha king of Moab raised sheep, and he had to pay the KING OF ISRAEL a tribute of a hundred thousand lambs and the wool of a hundred thousand rams.

 

52.    2 Kings 3:5  But after Ahab died, the king of Moab rebelled against the KING OF ISRAEL.

 

53.    2 Kings 3:9  So the KING OF ISRAEL set out with the king of Judah and the king of Edom. After a roundabout march of seven days, the army had no more water for themselves or for the animals with them.

 

54.    2 Kings 3:10  “What!” exclaimed the KING OF ISRAEL. “Has the Lord called us three kings together only to deliver us into the hands of Moab?”

 

55.    2 Kings 3:11  But Jehoshaphat asked, “Is there no prophet of the Lord here, through whom we may inquire of the Lord?” An officer of the KING OF ISRAEL answered, “Elisha son of Shaphat is here. He used to pour water on the hands of Elijah.”

 

56.    2 Kings 3:12  Jehoshaphat said, “The word of the Lord is with him.” So the KING OF ISRAEL and Jehoshaphat and the king of Edom went down to him.

 

57.    2 Kings 3:13  Elisha said to the KING OF ISRAEL, “Why do you want to involve me? Go to the prophets of your father and the prophets of your mother.” “No,” the KING OF ISRAEL answered, “because it was the Lord who called us three kings together to deliver us into the hands of Moab.”

 

58.    2 Kings 5:5  “By all means, go,” the king of Aram replied. “I will send a letter to the KING OF ISRAEL.” So Naaman left, taking with him ten talents of silver, six thousand shekels of gold and ten sets of clothing.

 

59.    2 Kings 5:6  The letter that he took to the KING OF ISRAEL read: “With this letter I am sending my servant Naaman to you so that you may cure him of his leprosy.”

 

60.    2 Kings 5:7  As soon as the KING OF ISRAEL read the letter, he tore his robes and said, “Am I God? Can I kill and bring back to life? Why does this fellow send someone to me to be cured of his leprosy? See how he is trying to pick a quarrel with me!”

 

61.    2 Kings 5:8  When Elisha the man of God heard that the KING OF ISRAEL had torn his robes, he sent him this message: “Why have you torn your robes? Have the man come to me and he will know that there is a prophet in Israel.”

 

62.    2 Kings 6:9  The man of God sent word to the KING OF ISRAEL: “Beware of passing that place, because the Arameans are going down there.”

 

63.    2 Kings 6:10  So the KING OF ISRAEL checked on the place indicated by the man of God. Time and again Elisha warned the king, so that he was on his guard in such places.

 

64.    2 Kings 6:11  This enraged the king of Aram. He summoned his officers and demanded of them, “Tell me! Which of us is on the side of the KING OF ISRAEL?”

 

65.    2 Kings 6:12  “None of us, my lord the king,” said one of his officers, “but Elisha, the prophet who is in Israel, tells the KING OF ISRAEL the very words you speak in your bedroom.”

 

66.    2 Kings 6:21  When the KING OF ISRAEL saw them, he asked Elisha, “Shall I kill them, my father? Shall I kill them?”

 

67.    2 Kings 6:26  As the KING OF ISRAEL was passing by on the wall, a woman cried to him, “Help me, my lord the king!”

 

68.    2 Kings 7:6  for the Lord had caused the Arameans to hear the sound of chariots and horses and a great army, so that they said to one another, “Look, the KING OF ISRAEL has hired the Hittite and Egyptian kings to attack us!”

 

69.    2 Kings 8:16  Jehoram King of Judah

In the fifth year of Joram son of Ahab KING OF ISRAEL, when Jehoshaphat was king of Judah, Jehoram son of Jehoshaphat began his reign as king of Judah.

 

70.    2 Kings 8:25  Ahaziah King of Judah

In the twelfth year of Joram son of Ahab KING OF ISRAEL, Ahaziah son of Jehoram king of Judah began to reign.

 

71.    2 Kings 8:26  Ahaziah was twenty-two years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem one year. His mother’s name was Athaliah, a granddaughter of Omri KING OF ISRAEL.

 

72.    2 Kings 9:1  Jehu Anointed KING OF ISRAEL

The prophet Elisha summoned a man from the company of the prophets and said to him, “Tuck your cloak into your belt, take this flask of olive oil with you and go to Ramoth Gilead.

 

73.    2 Kings 9:21  “Hitch up my chariot,” Joram ordered. And when it was hitched up, Joram KING OF ISRAEL and Ahaziah king of Judah rode out, each in his own chariot, to meet Jehu. They met him at the plot of ground that had belonged to Naboth the Jezreelite.

 

74.    2 Kings 13:1  Jehoahaz KING OF ISRAEL

In the twenty-third year of Joash son of Ahaziah king of Judah, Jehoahaz son of Jehu became kingof Israel in Samaria, and he reigned seventeen years.

 

75.    2 Kings 13:10  Jehoash KING OF ISRAEL

In the thirty-seventh year of Joash king of Judah, Jehoash son of Jehoahaz became KING OF ISRAEL in Samaria, and he reigned sixteen years.

 

76.    2 Kings 13:14  Now Elisha had been suffering from the illness from which he died. Jehoash KING OF ISRAEL went down to see him and wept over him. “My father! My father!” he cried. “The chariots and horsemen of Israel!”

 

77.    2 Kings 13:16  “Take the bow in your hands,” he said to the KING OF ISRAEL. When he had taken it, Elisha put his hands on the king’s hands.

 

78.    2 Kings 14:1  Amaziah King of Judah

In the second year of Jehoash son of Jehoahaz KING OF ISRAEL, Amaziah son of Joash king of Judah began to reign.

 

79.    2 Kings 14:8  Then Amaziah sent messengers to Jehoash son of Jehoahaz, the son of Jehu, KING OF ISRAEL, with the challenge: “Come, let us face each other in battle.”

 

80.    2 Kings 14:9  But Jehoash KING OF ISRAEL replied to Amaziah king of Judah: “A thistle in Lebanon sent a message to a cedar in Lebanon, ‘Give your daughter to my son in marriage.’ Then a wild beast in Lebanon came along and trampled the thistle underfoot.

 

81.    2 Kings 14:11  Amaziah, however, would not listen, so Jehoash KING OF ISRAEL attacked. He and Amaziah king of Judah faced each other at Beth Shemesh in Judah.

 

82.    2 Kings 14:13  Jehoash KING OF ISRAEL captured Amaziah king of Judah, the son of Joash, the son of Ahaziah, at Beth Shemesh. Then Jehoash went to Jerusalem and broke down the wall of Jerusalem from the Ephraim Gate to the Corner Gate—a section about four hundred cubits long.

 

83.    2 Kings 14:17  Amaziah son of Joash king of Judah lived for fifteen years after the death of Jehoash son of Jehoahaz KING OF ISRAEL.

 

84.    2 Kings 14:23  Jeroboam II KING OF ISRAEL

In the fifteenth year of Amaziah son of Joash king of Judah, Jeroboam son of Jehoash KING OF ISRAELbecame king in Samaria, and he reigned forty-one years.

 

85.    2 Kings 15:1  Azariah King of Judah

In the twenty-seventh year of Jeroboam KING OF ISRAEL, Azariah son of Amaziah king of Judah began to reign.

 

86.    2 Kings 15:8  Zechariah KING OF ISRAEL

In the thirty-eighth year of Azariah king of Judah, Zechariah son of Jeroboam became KING OF ISRAELin Samaria, and he reigned six months.

 

87.    2 Kings 15:13  Shallum KING OF ISRAEL

Shallum son of Jabesh became king in the thirty-ninth year of Uzziah king of Judah, and he reigned in Samaria one month.

 

88.    2 Kings 15:17  Menahem KING OF ISRAEL

In the thirty-ninth year of Azariah king of Judah, Menahem son of Gadi became KING OF ISRAEL, and he reigned in Samaria ten years.

 

89.    2 Kings 15:23  Pekahiah KING OF ISRAEL

In the fiftieth year of Azariah king of Judah, Pekahiah son of Menahem became KING OF ISRAEL in Samaria, and he reigned two years.

 

90.    2 Kings 15:27  Pekah KING OF ISRAEL

In the fifty-second year of Azariah king of Judah, Pekah son of Remaliah became KING OF ISRAEL in Samaria, and he reigned twenty years.

 

91.    2 Kings 15:29  In the time of Pekah KING OF ISRAEL, Tiglath-Pileser king of Assyria came and took Ijon, Abel Beth Maakah, Janoah, Kedesh and Hazor. He took Gilead and Galilee, including all the land of Naphtali, and deported the people to Assyria.

 

92.    2 Kings 15:32  Jotham King of Judah

In the second year of Pekah son of Remaliah kingof Israel, Jotham son of Uzziah king of Judah began to reign.

 

93.    2 Kings 16:5  Then Rezin king of Aram and Pekah son of Remaliah KING OF ISRAEL marched up to fight against Jerusalem and besieged Ahaz, but they could not overpower him.

 

94.    2 Kings 16:7  Ahaz sent messengers to say to Tiglath-Pileser king of Assyria, “I am your servant and vassal. Come up and save me out of the hand of the king of Aram and of the KING OF ISRAEL, who are attacking me.”

 

95.    2 Kings 17:1  Hoshea Last KING OF ISRAEL

In the twelfth year of Ahaz king of Judah, Hoshea son of Elah became KING OF ISRAEL in Samaria, and he reigned nine years.

 

96.    2 Kings 18:1  Hezekiah King of Judah

In the third year of Hoshea son of Elah KING OF ISRAEL, Hezekiah son of Ahaz king of Judah began to reign.

 

97.    2 Kings 18:9  In King Hezekiah’s fourth year, which was the seventh year of Hoshea son of Elah KING OF ISRAEL, Shalmaneser king of Assyria marched against Samaria and laid siege to it.

 

98.    2 Kings 18:10  At the end of three years the Assyrians took it. So Samaria was captured in Hezekiah’s sixth year, which was the ninth year of Hoshea KING OF ISRAEL.

 

99.    2 Kings 21:3  He rebuilt the high places his father Hezekiah had destroyed; he also erected altars to Baal and made an Asherah pole, as Ahab KING OF ISRAEL had done. He bowed down to all the starry hosts and worshiped them.

 

100.  2 Kings 23:13  The king also desecrated the high places that were east of Jerusalem on the south of the Hill of Corruption—the ones Solomon KING OF ISRAEL had built for Ashtoreth the vile goddess of the Sidonians, for Chemosh the vile god of Moab, and for Molek the detestable god of the people of Ammon.

 

101.  2 Kings 24:13  As the Lord had declared, Nebuchadnezzar removed the treasures from the temple of the Lordand from the royal palace, and cut up the gold articles that Solomon KING OF ISRAEL had made for the temple of the Lord.

 

102.  1 Chronicles 5:17  All these were entered in the genealogical records during the reigns of Jotham king of Judah and Jeroboam KING OF ISRAEL.

 

103.  2 Chronicles 8:11  Solomon brought Pharaoh’s daughter up from the City of David to the palace he had built for her, for he said, “My wife must not live in the palace of David KING OF ISRAEL, because the places the ark of the Lord has entered are holy.”

 

104.  2 Chronicles 16:1  In the thirty-sixth year of Asa’s reign Baasha kingof Israel went up against Judah and fortified Ramah to prevent anyone from leaving or entering the territory of Asa king of Judah.

 

105.  2 Chronicles 16:3  “Let there be a treaty between me and you,” he said, “as there was between my father and your father. See, I am sending you silver and gold. Now break your treaty with Baasha KING OF ISRAEL so he will withdraw from me.”

115.  2 Chronicles 18:28  So the KING OF ISRAEL and Jehoshaphat king of Judah went up to Ramoth Gilead.

 

116.  2 Chronicles 18:29  The KING OF ISRAEL said to Jehoshaphat, “I will enter the battle in disguise, but you wear your royal robes.” So the KING OF ISRAEL disguised himself and went into battle.

118.  2 Chronicles 18:31  When the chariot commanders saw Jehoshaphat, they thought, “This is the KING OF ISRAEL.” So they turned to attack him, but Jehoshaphat cried out, and the Lord helped him. God drew them away from him,

 

119.  2 Chronicles 18:32  for when the chariot commanders saw that he was not the KING OF ISRAEL, they stopped pursuing him.

 

120.  2 Chronicles 18:33  But someone drew his bow at random and hit the KING OF ISRAEL between the breastplate and the scale armor. The king told the chariot driver, “Wheel around and get me out of the fighting. I’ve been wounded.”

 

121.  2 Chronicles 18:34  All day long the battle raged, and the KING OF ISRAELpropped himself up in his chariot facing the Arameans until evening. Then at sunset he died.

 

122.  2 Chronicles 20:35  Later, Jehoshaphat king of Judah made an alliance with Ahaziah KING OF ISRAEL, whose ways were wicked.

 

123.  2 Chronicles 21:2  Jehoram’s brothers, the sons of Jehoshaphat, were Azariah, Jehiel, Zechariah, Azariahu, Michael and Shephatiah. All these were sons of Jehoshaphat KING OF ISRAEL.

 

124.  2 Chronicles 22:5  He also followed their counsel when he went with Joram son of Ahab KING OF ISRAEL to wage war against Hazael king of Aram at Ramoth Gilead. The Arameans wounded Joram;

 

125.  2 Chronicles 25:17  After Amaziah king of Judah consulted his advisers, he sent this challenge to Jehoash son of Jehoahaz, the son of Jehu, KING OF ISRAEL: “Come, let us face each other in battle.”
