SHAKE THE DUST OFF YOUR FEET

AUDIENCE RELEVANCE easily sticks these passages IN the 1st Century directed to Yeshua's 12 Disciples aka 12 Apostles and Acts 13 confirms its fulfillment. 


Christ is addressing His 12 Discipes and not you in the 21st century reading this passage of Scripture.  So, the antecedent of “you” refers to the 12 Disciples and not YOU reading this. LOL.
V16-22  The 12 Disciples were 

Matthew 10:1-21  (NIV)
JESUS CALLED HIS TWELVE DISCIPLES TO HIM AND GAVE THEM AUTHORITY to drive out impure spirits and to heal every disease and sickness.
These are the names of the twelve apostles: first, Simon (who is called Peter) and his brother Andrew; James son of Zebedee, and his brother John; Philip and Bartholomew; Thomas and Matthew the tax collector; James son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus; Simon the Zealot and Judas Iscariot, who betrayed him.
THESE TWELVE JESUS SENT OUT WITH THE FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS: “Do not go among the Gentiles or enter any town of the Samaritans. Go rather to the lost sheep of Israel. As you go, proclaim this message: ‘The kingdom of heaven has come near.’ Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have received; freely give.
“Do not get any gold or silver or copper to take with you in your belts— 10 no bag for the journey or extra shirt or sandals or a staff, for the worker is worth his keep. 11 Whatever town or village you enter, search there for some worthy person and stay at their house until you leave. 12 As you enter the home, give it your greeting. 13 If the home is deserving, let your peace rest on it; if it is not, let your peace return to you. 14 If anyone will not welcome you or listen to your words, leave that home or town and SHAKE THE DUST OFF YOUR FEET. 15 Truly I tell you, it will be more bearable for Sodom and Gomorrah on the day of judgment than for that town.
16 “I am sending YOU out like sheep among wolves. Therefore be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves. 17 Be on your guard; you will be handed over to the local councils and be flogged in the synagogues. 18 On my account you will be brought before governors and kings as witnesses to them and to the Gentiles. 19 But when they arrest you, do not worry about what to say or how to say it. At that time you will be given what to say, 20 for it will not be you speaking, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.
21 “Brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child; children will rebel against their parents and have them put to death. 22 You will be hated by everyone because of me, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved. 23 When you are persecuted in one place, flee to another. TRULY I TELL YOU, YOU WILL NOT FINISH GOING THROUGH THE TOWNS OF ISRAEL BEFORE THE SON OF MAN COMES.


In Mark, Christ sends THE TWELVE out with Authority!

Mark 6:7-11 
CALLING THE TWELVE TO HIM, he began to send them out two by two and gave THEM authority over impure spirits.
These were his instructions: “Take nothing for the journey except a staff—no bread, no bag, no money in your belts. Wear sandals but not an extra shirt. 10 Whenever you enter a house, stay there until you leave that town. 11 AND IF ANY PLACE WILL NOT WELCOME YOU OR LISTEN TO YOU, LEAVE THAT PLACE AND SHAKE THE DUST OFF YOUR FEET AS A TESTIMONY AGAINST THEM.”



CHRIST GIVES HIS 12 APOSTLES POWER & AUTHORITY

Luke 9:1-6 
When JESUS HAD CALLED THE TWELVE TOGETHER, he gave them power and authority to drive out all demons and to cure diseases, and he sent them out to proclaim the kingdom of God and to heal the sick. He told them: “Take nothing for the journey—no staff, no bag, no bread, no money, no extra shirt. Whatever house you enter, stay there until you leave that town. IF PEOPLE DO NOT WELCOME YOU, LEAVE THEIR TOWN AND SHAKE THE DUST OFF YOUR FEET AS A TESTIMONY AGAINST THEM.” So they set out and went from village to village, proclaiming the good news and healing people everywhere.


CHRIST APPOINTED SEVENTY-TWO OTHERS TO BRING IN THE HARVEST.

Luke 10:1-12
After this THE LORD APPOINTED SEVENTY-TWO OTHERS and sent them two by two ahead of him to every town and place where he was about to go. He told them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field. Go! I am sending you out like lambs among wolves. Do not take a purse or bag or sandals; and do not greet anyone on the road.
“When you enter a house, first say, ‘Peace to this house.’ If someone who promotes peace is there, your peace will rest on them; if not, it will return to you. Stay there, eating and drinking whatever they give you, for the worker deserves his wages. Do not move around from house to house.
8“When you enter a town and are welcomed, eat what is offered to you. 9 Heal the sick who are there and tell them, ‘The kingdom of God has come near to you.’ 10 BUT WHEN YOU ENTER A TOWN AND ARE NOT WELCOMED, GO INTO ITS STREETS AND SAY, 11 ‘EVEN THE DUST OF YOUR TOWN WE WIPE FROM OUR FEET AS A WARNING TO YOU. YET BE SURE OF THIS: THE KINGDOM OF GOD HAS COME NEAR.’ 12 I tell you, it will be more bearable on that day for Sodom than for that town.


SHAKING THE DUST FROM THEIR FEET WAS FULFILLED IN THE 1st CENTURY:

Acts 13:49-52
49 The word of the Lord spread through the whole region. 50 But the Jewish leaders incited the God-fearing women of high standing and the leading men of the city. They stirred up persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and expelled them from their region. 51 SO THEY SHOOK THE DUST OFF THEIR FEET AS A WARNING TO THEM and went to Iconium. 52 And the disciples were filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit.
