Now a man named Ananias, together with his wife Sapphira, also sold a piece of property. 2 With his wife’s full knowledge he kept back part of the money for himself, but brought the rest and put it at the apostles’ feet.
3 Then Peter said, “Ananias, how is it that Satan has so filled your heart that you have lied to the Holy Spirit and have kept for yourself some of the money you received for the land? 4 Didn’t it belong to you before it was sold? And after it was sold, wasn’t the money at your disposal? What made you think of doing such a thing? You have not lied just to human beings but to God.”
5 When Ananias heard this, he fell down and died. And great fear seized all who heard what had happened. 6 Then some young men came forward, wrapped up his body, and carried him out and buried him.
7 About three hours later his wife came in, not knowing what had happened. 8 Peter asked her, “Tell me, is this the price you and Ananias got for the land?”
“Yes,” she said, “that is the price.”
9 Peter said to her, “How could you conspire to test the Spirit of the Lord? Listen! The feet of the men who buried your husband are at the door, and they will carry you out also.”
10 At that moment she fell down at his feet and died. Then the young men came in and, finding her dead, carried her out and buried her beside her husband.11 Great fear seized the whole church and all who heard about these events.
- Ananias: When Ananias presented the money, the Apostle Peter, led by the Holy Spirit, confronted him: "Ananias, how is it that Satan has so filled your heart that you have lied to the Holy Spirit... You have not lied just to human beings but to God". Upon hearing this, Ananias immediately fell down and died.
- Sapphira: Three hours later, unaware of her husband's death, Sapphira arrived and repeated the same lie to Peter. Peter asked, "How could you conspire to test the Spirit of the Lord?". She then fell dead at his feet.
- Nadab and Abihu: Struck down by fire for offering "unauthorized fire" (Leviticus 10:1–2).
- Uzzah: Struck down for touching the Ark of the Covenant to steady it (2 Samuel 6:6–7).
- Herod Agrippa: Struck down by an angel of the Lord for not giving glory to God (Acts 12:23).
- Assyrian Army: 185,000 soldiers killed in one night by an "angel of the Lord" (2 Kings 19:35).
23 For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread, 24 and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, “This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me.” 25 In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me.” 26 FOR WHENEVER YOU EAT THIS BREAD AND DRINK THIS CUP, YOU PROCLAIM THE LORD’S DEATH UNTIL HE COMES.
**Think of the historic context of Paul's epistles. He wrote in the 1st century to, for and about the ekklesia in Corinth, and NOT to, for and about you retards in 21st century who think that you are a "Christian!" receiving mail from The Apostle Paul. LOL.
Christ said that He would return in that generation while SOME of His disciples would still be alive and He did! Thus, in v26, Paul states how the ekklesia should conduct themselves until Christ comes.
The BIGGEST PROBLEM that people have with interpreting the NT is that they do not know the OT. It's like walking into the last 1/4 of a movie and not understanding the overall context of the story. This is where most folks are!
Plus, they ASSUME the Bible is written TO them, FOR them and ABOUT them in whatever century they live. smh. LOL
IF YOU READ THE BIBLE IN ITS proper HISTORIC CONTEXT, AUDIENCE RELEVANCE, this would RADICALLY SHIFT THE COMPLETE BIBLE STORY from what we have been indoctrinated into!!! The BIGGEST ASSUMPTION people who think they are “Christians” make is that the Bible is their story!
Who was The bible written TO you and FOR you and ABOUT!???
HILARIOUS!!!
Try not to cry laughing!!!
Did Christ speak TO, FOR & ABOUT People Right in Front of Him??? https://tueseahkiong.blogspot.com/2025/09/hilarioys-httpswww.html?m=1
