Stones Cry Out

 

Luke 19:40

“I tell you,” he replied, “if they keep quiet, the stones will cry out.”

Jesus Comes to Jerusalem as King

LUKE 19:28-44 After Jesus had said this, he went on ahead, going up to Jerusalem. 29 As he approached Bethphage and Bethany at the hill called the Mount of Olives, he sent two of his disciples, saying to them, 30 “Go to the village ahead of you, and as you enter it, you will find a colt tied there, which no one has ever ridden. Untie it and bring it here. 31 If anyone asks you, ‘Why are you untying it?’ say, ‘The Lord needs it.’”

32 Those who were sent ahead went and found it just as he had told them. 33 As they were untying the colt, its owners asked them, “Why are you untying the colt?”

34 They replied, “The Lord needs it.”

35 They brought it to Jesus, threw their cloaks on the colt and put Jesus on it. 36 As he went along, people spread their cloaks on the road.

37 When he came near the place where the road goes down the Mount of Olives, the whole crowd of disciples began joyfully to praise God in loud voices for all the miracles they had seen:

38 “Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord!”

“Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!”

39 Some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to Jesus, “Teacher, rebuke your disciples!”

40 “I tell you,” he replied, “if they keep quiet, the stones will cry out.”

41 As he approached Jerusalem and saw the city, he wept over it 42 and said, “If YOU, even YOU, had only known on this day what would bring YOU peace—but now it is hidden from your eyes. 43 The days will come upon YOU when your enemies will build an embankment against YOU and encircle YOU and hem YOU in on every side. 44 They will dash YOU to the ground, YOU and the children within your walls.  They will not leave one stone on another, because YOU did not recognize the time of God’s coming to YOU.”

@btw Christ was speaking to folks right in front of Him around 33AD and not to you in 2025AD.  Lol

When did Israel’s enemies build an embankment around them?  

66-70AD - GOD was Israel’s Enemy and sent His servants The Roman armies, GOD’s Legions of Angels to unleash HELL upon the Christ-murdering, Christ-rejecting, Christ-hating unfaithful unbelieving whoring Israelites/Jews!

Joshua 24:27 “See!” he said to all the people. “This stone will be a witness against us. It has heard all the words the Lord has said to us. It will be a witness against you if you are untrue to your God.”

@Israel broke covenant & allegiance and at the end of the Bible they ate the curses of the covenant, especially for murdering the innocent, sinless, Prince of Peace, Author of Life, and Son of God. 

Israel was the ONLY NATION under THE LAW of YHWH.

Habakkuk 2:9 Woe to him that covets ill-gotten gain by violence for his house that he may set his nest on high, that he may escape from the power of evil!

10 Thou hast taken shameful counsel for thy house by cutting off many peoples and hast committed a sin against thy life.

11 For the stone shall cry out from the wall, and the beam out of the timber shall answer it.

12 Woe to him that builds the city with blood and founds the village with iniquity!

@ “The stone will cry out” in this passage is JUDGMENT against  Babylon for doing evil to God’s People Israel!

Christ uses the same language to speak of JUDGMENT upon unbelieving Israel which came in that generation by 70AD!

JUDGMENT ON ISRAEL 

Matthew24:29-35  “Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 30 Then willappear in heaven the sign of the Son of Man, and then all the tribes of theearth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds ofheaven with power and great glory. 31 And he will send out his angels with aloud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from oneend of heaven to the other.

32 “Fromthe fig tree learn its lesson: as soon as its branch becomes tender and putsout its leaves, you know that summer is near. 33 So also, when you see allthese things, you know that he is near, at the very gates. 34 Truly, I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place. 35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.


JUDGMENT ON ISRAEL 

Mark13:24-31

JUDGMENT ON ISRAEL 

Luke21:25-33

“And there will be signs in sun and moon and stars, and on the earth distress of nations in perplexity because of the roaring of the sea and the waves, 26 people fainting with fear and with foreboding of what is coming on the world. For the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 27 And then they will see the Son of Man comingin a cloud with power and great glory. 28 Now when these things begin to takeplace, straighten up and raise your heads, because your redemption is drawingnear.”

29 And hetold them a parable: “Look at the fig tree, and all the trees. 30 As soon asthey come out in leaf, you see for yourselves and know that the summer isalready near. 31 So also, when you see these things taking place, you know thatthe kingdom of God is near. 32 Truly, I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all has taken place. 33Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.
