Were many of the GENTILES in the New Testament Israelites?

Were many of the GENTILES in the New Testament Israelites?

By Ken Hamner;  Additions by Tuese Ahkiong

1) - Why did Paul, the apostle to the gentiles, state during his trial that he was in his chains for the "hope of Israel" (Acts 28)?

Acts 28:20  For this reason, therefore, I have asked to see you and speak with you, since it is because of the hope of Israel that I am wearing this chain.”

2) - Why were the Ephesians gentiles dead in trespasses (of the law), and why were they supposed to have been circumcised (Eph 2)?

Ephesians 2:1-7 And you were dead in the trespasses and sins 2 in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience—among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind. But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved— and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith; and this is not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not a result of works, so that no one may boast. 10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.

11 Therefore remember that previously you, the Gentiles in the flesh, who are called “Uncircumcision” by the so-called “Circumcision” which is performed in the flesh by human hands— 12 remember that you were at that time separate from Christ, excluded from the people of Israel, and strangers to the covenants of the promise, having no hope and without God in the world.

3) - Why were the Colossians gentiles guilty of uncircumcision, and why did they have the law against them (Col 2)?

Colossians 2:13-14. And you, who were dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses, 14 by canceling the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. This he set aside, nailing it to the cross.

4) - Why were the Corinthian gentiles descended from men who were with Moses in the wilderness (1 Cor 10)?

For I do not want you to be unaware, brothers, that our fathers were all under the cloud, and all passed through the sea, and all were baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea, and all ate the same spiritual food, and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank from the spiritual Rock that followed them, and the Rock was Christ. Nevertheless, with most of them God was not pleased, for they were overthrown in the wilderness.

5) - Why were the Roman gentiles being grafted in so that "all Israel" could be saved (Rom 11) and why did Paul call Abraham their father according to the flesh (Rom 4)?

Romans 11:25-27 Lest you be wise in your own sight, I do not want you to be unaware of this mystery, brothers: a partial hardening has come upon Israel, until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in. 26 And in this way all Israel will be saved, as it is written,

“The Deliverer will come from Zion,
    he will banish ungodliness from Jacob”;
27 “and this will be my covenant with them
when I take away their sins.”

Romans 4:1 What then shall we say was gained by Abraham, our forefather according to the flesh?

6) - How had the law been a tutor for the Galatian gentiles (Gal 3), and why were they warned not to go "back to" its weak and beggarly elements (Gal 4)?

Galatians 3:24-25 So the law was our guardian until Christ came that we might be justified by faith. Now that this faith has come, we are no longer under a guardian.

Galatians 4:8-9 Formerly, when you did not know God, you were slaves to those who by nature are not gods. But now that you know God—or rather are known by God—how is it that you are turning back to those weak and miserable forces? Do you wish to be enslaved by them all over again?

 7) - Why would the Thessalonian gentiles have been persecuted by their countrymen for joining the new Christian sect (1 Thes 2)?

1 Thessalonians 2:14-15 For you, brothers and sisters, became imitators of the churches of God in Christ Jesus that are in Judea, for you also endured the same sufferings at the hands of your own countrymen, even as they did from the Jews,15 who both killed the Lord Jesus and the prophets, and drove us out. They are not pleasing to God, but hostile to all people,

8) - Why was Jesus' sacrifice only for trespasses committed under the old l/ first covenant (Heb 9)?

Hebrews 9:15. For this reason He is the mediator of a new covenant, so that, since a death has taken place for the redemption of the violations that were committed under the first covenant, those who have been called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance.

9) - Why was the new covenant only made with Israel and Judah (Heb 8 )?

Hebrews 8:8 For in finding fault with the people, He says,

Behold, days are coming, says the Lord,
When I will bring about a new covenant
With the house of Israel and the house of Judah,

Not like the covenant which I made with their fathers
On the day I took them by the hand
To bring them out of the land of Egypt;
For they did not continue in My covenant,
And I did not care about them, says the Lord.
10 For this is the covenant which I will make with the house of Israel
After those days, declares the Lord:
will put My laws into their minds,
And write them on their hearts.
And I will be their God,
And they shall be My people.
11 And they will not teach, each one his fellow citizen,
And each one his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’
For they will all know Me,
From the least to the greatest of them.
12 For I will be merciful toward their wrongdoings,
And their sins I will no longer remember.”

Who were THE DIASPORA?  THE ELECT?  The fullness of GENTILES that Paul spoke of? Who were those YHWH CALLED NOT MY PEOPLE?  Are people today elect like Reformed Calvinist folk think they are?  Here’s a RED PILL to who the Bible identifies as the elect!

People in the 21st century pick up an ancient book and assume it’s written to them when it is not.  Most folk would agree that the OT is primarily to Israel.   The NT was written to the ekklesia in Rome Corinth Galatia; Timothy Titus Philemon... in the 1st century.
