26 POINTS THAT ISRAEL ONLY STANDS ON REGARDING THE PROMISES AND COVENANTS by Michael Beiras

26 POINTS THAT ISRAEL ONLY STANDS ON REGARDING THE PROMISES AND COVENANTS
by Michael Beiras

1) Abraham is promised to be made a multitude of nations (Gen 17:5).
Gen 17:5 No longer shall your name be called Abram, but your name shall be Abraham, for I have made you the father of a multitude of nations.

2) Abraham is promised the nations would be blessed in him (Gen 18:18, Gal 3:8)
Gen 18:18  seeing that Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him?

Gal 3:8 And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel beforehand to Abraham, saying, “In you shall all the nations be blessed.”

3) Abraham is promised the seed/Jesus (Gen 22:17-18). This promise results in the same nations being blessed from Abraham and Sarah (Gen 12:3, 17:16, 18:18).
Gen 22:17-18 I will surely bless you, and I will surely multiply your offspring as the stars of heaven and as the sand that is on the seashore. And your offspring shall possess the gate of his enemies, 18 and in your offspring shall all the nations of the earth be blessed, because you have obeyed my voice.”

Gen 12:3  I will bless those who bless you, and him who dishonors you I will curse, and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”

Gen 17:16  I will bless her, and moreover, I will give you a son by her. I will bless her, and she shall become nations; kings of peoples shall come from her.”

Gen 18:18  seeing that Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him?

4) Abraham is told the everlasting covenant follows through Isaac and his descendants after him (Gen 17:19). It is in Isaac Abraham's descendants will be named (Gen 21:12).
Gen 17:19 God said, “No, but Sarah your wife shall bear you a son, and you shall call his name Isaac. I will establish my covenant with him as an everlasting covenant for his offspring after him.

Gen 21:12 But God said to Abraham, “Be not displeased because of the boy and because of your slave woman. Whatever Sarah says to you, do as she tells you, for through Isaac shall your offspring be named.

5) Rom 4:16-19 shows the multitude of nations promise was fulfilled in Jesus day through Sarah's womb.
Rom 4:16-19  That is why it depends on faith, in order that the promise may rest on grace and be guaranteed to all his offspring—not only to the adherent of the law but also to the one who shares the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all, 17 as it is written, “I have made you the father of many nations”—in the presence of the God in whom he believed, who gives life to the dead and calls into existence the things that do not exist. 18 In hope he believed against hope, that he should become the father of many nations, as he had been told, “So shall your offspring be.” 19 He did not weaken in faith when he considered his own body, which was as good as dead (since he was about a hundred years old), or when he considered the barrenness of Sarah's womb.

6) Paul picks up on the theme of Isaac in his day as applying to those coming in (Rom 9:7, Gal 4:28, Heb 11:18). This would make no sense if not biological.
Rom 9:7  and not all are children of Abraham because they are his offspring, but “Through Isaac shall your offspring be named.”

Gal 4:28 Now you, brothers, like Isaac, are children of promise.

Heb 11:18  of whom it was said, “Through Isaac shall your offspring be named.”

7) Peter declares Jesus is the seed and in him all the families of the earth will be blessed (Acts 3:25-26). This begins with the Jews.
Acts 3:25-26  You are the sons of the prophets and of the covenant that God made with your fathers, saying to Abraham, ‘And in your offspring shall all the families of the earth be blessed.’ 26 God, having raised up his servant, sent him to you first, to bless you by turning every one of you from your wickedness.”

8 ) Jacob is promised a "company of nations" (Gen 35:11).
Gen 35:11 And God said to him, “I am God Almighty: be fruitful and multiply. A nation and a company of nations shall come from you, and kings shall come from your own body.

9) Jacob blesses Ephraim and says he will be a multitude of nations (Gen 48:17-19).
Gen 48:17-19  When Joseph saw that his father laid his right hand on the head of Ephraim, it displeased him, and he took his father's hand to move it from Ephraim's head to Manasseh's head. 18 And Joseph said to his father, “Not this way, my father; since this one is the firstborn, put your right hand on his head.” 19 But his father refused and said, “I know, my son, I know. He also shall become a people, and he also shall be great. Nevertheless, his younger brother shall be greater than he, and his offspring shall become a multitude of nations.”

10) Israel splits into two nations because of Solomon's sin and now establishes Northern Israel and Southern Judah (1 King 11:30-32). Now there are two kings, one over each tribe.
1 King 11:30-32 Then Ahijah laid hold of the new garment that was on him, and tore it into twelve pieces. 31 And he said to Jeroboam, “Take for yourself ten pieces, for thus says the Lord, the God of Israel, ‘Behold, I am about to tear the kingdom from the hand of Solomon and will give you ten tribes32 (but he shall have one tribe, for the sake of my servant David and for the sake of Jerusalem, the city that I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel),

11) Northern Israel is taken into captivity by Assyria and given a certificate of divorce (Jer 3:8).
Jer 3:8  She saw that for all the adulteries of that faithless one, Israel, I had sent her away with a decree of divorce. Yet her treacherous sister Judah did not fear, but she too went and played the whore.

12) Northern Israel mixed and scattered among the nations up until Jesus day (Hosea 7:8, 8:8). They are also known as Ephraim (Is 11:12-13, Ez 37:16-19) in captivity and promised to return. Northern Israel is now scattered and becomes the multitude of nations as promised to Abraham and the blessing by Jacob.
Hosea 7:8, Ephraim mixes himself with the peoples; Ephraim is a cake not turned.

Hosea 8:8 Israel is swallowed up; already they are among the nations as a useless vessel.

Isaiah 11:12-13 He will raise a signal for the nations and will assemble the banished of Israel, and gather the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.
13 The jealousy of Ephraim shall depart, and those who harass Judah shall be cut off;
Ephraim shall not be jealous of Judah, and Judah shall not harass Ephraim.

Ez 37:16-19 “Son of man, take a stick and write on it, ‘For Judah, and the people of Israel associated with him’; then take another stick and write on it, ‘For Joseph (the stick of Ephraim) and all the house of Israel associated with him.’ 17 And join them one to another into one stick, that they may become one in your hand. 18 And when your people say to you, ‘Will you not tell us what you mean by these?’ 19 say to them, Thus says the Lord God: Behold, I am about to take the stick of Joseph (that is in the hand of Ephraim) and the tribes of Israel associated with him. And I will join with it the stick of Judah, and make them one stick, that they may be one in my hand.

13) Northern Israel is promised their return to God (Hosea 1:10, 2:23) as quoted by Paul (Rom 9:24-26). Paul identifies them as nations/gentiles and the uncircumcision (Rom 4:11) and says Abraham is the biological father of all who believe.
Hosea 1:10  Yet the number of the children of Israel shall be like the sand of the sea, which cannot be measured or numbered. And in the place where it was said to them, “You are not my people,” it shall be said to them, “Children of the living God.”

Hosea 2:23  and I will sow her for myself in the land.  And I will have mercy on No Mercy, and I will say to Not My People, ‘You are my people’; and he shall say, ‘You are my God.’

Rom 9:24-26 even us whom he has called, not from the Jews only but also from the Gentiles? 25 As indeed he says in Hosea, “Those who were not my people I will call ‘my people,’ and her who was not beloved I will call ‘beloved.’” 26 “And in the very place where it was said to them, ‘You are not my people,’ there they will be called ‘sons of the living God.’”

Rom 4:11. He received the sign of circumcision as a seal of the righteousness that he had by faith while he was still uncircumcised. The purpose was to make him the father of all who believe without being circumcised so that righteousness would be counted to them as well

14) Paul writes a letter to Rome (1:7) which is to gentiles (11:13), saying they are biological descendants of Abraham according to the flesh (4:1) through Sarah's womb (4:19).
Romans 1:7 To all those in Rome who are loved by God and called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Rom 11:13 Now I am speaking to you Gentiles. Inasmuch then as I am an apostle to the Gentiles I magnify my ministry

Rom 4:1 What then shall we say was gained by Abraham, our forefather according to the flesh?

Rom 4:19  He did not weaken in faith when he considered his own body, which was as good as dead (since he was about a hundred years old), or when he considered the barrenness of Sarah's womb.

15) Southern Judah is sent into captivity for 70 years (Jer 25:11) by the hands of Babylon (Jer 25:12). Some who saw the first temple lived and wept to see the rebuilding of the second temple (Ezra 3:12).
Jer 25:11-12  This whole land shall become a ruin and a waste, and these nations shall serve the king of Babylon seventy years. 12 Then after seventy years are completed, I will punish the king of Babylon and that nation, the land of the Chaldeans, for their iniquity, declares the Lord, making the land an everlasting waste.

Ezra 3:12 But many of the priests and Levites and heads of fathers' houses, old men who had seen the first house, wept with a loud voice when they saw the foundation of this house being laid, though many shouted aloud for joy,

16) Up until Jesus day, the 12 tribes of Israel were in covenant with God (Ez 37) after Babylon captivity.
 Ezekiel 37

The hand of the Lord was upon me, and he brought me out in the Spirit of the Lord and set me down in the middle of the valley; it was full of bones. And he led me around among them, and behold, there were very many on the surface of the valley, and behold, they were very dry. And he said to me, “Son of man, can these bones live?” And I answered, “O Lord God, you know.” Then he said to me, “Prophesy over these bones, and say to them, O dry bones, hear the word of the Lord. Thus says the Lord God to these bones: Behold, I will cause breath to enter you, and you shall live. And I will lay sinews upon you, and will cause flesh to come upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and you shall live, and you shall know that I am the Lord.”

So I prophesied as I was commanded. And as I prophesied, there was a sound, and behold, a rattling, and the bones came together, bone to its bone. And I looked, and behold, there were sinews on them, and flesh had come upon them, and skin had covered them. But there was no breath in them. Then he said to me, “Prophesy to the breath; prophesy, son of man, and say to the breath, Thus says the Lord God: Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe on these slain, that they may live.”10 So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived and stood on their feet, an exceedingly great army.

11 Then he said to me, “Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel. Behold, they say, ‘Our bones are dried up, and our hope is lost; we are indeed cut off.’ 12 Therefore prophesy, and say to them, Thus says the Lord God: Behold, I will open your graves and raise you from your graves, O my people. And I will bring you into the land of Israel. 13 And you shall know that I am the Lord, when I open your graves, and raise you from your graves, O my people. 14 And I will put my Spirit within you, and you shall live, and I will place you in your own land. Then you shall know that I am the Lord; I have spoken, and I will do it, declares the Lord.”

15 The word of the Lord came to me: 16 “Son of man, take a stick and write on it, ‘For Judah, and the people of Israel associated with him’; then take another stick and write on it, ‘For Joseph (the stick of Ephraim) and all the house of Israel associated with him.’ 17 And join them one to another into one stick, that they may become one in your hand. 20 When the sticks on which you write are in your hand before their eyes, 21 then say to them, Thus says the Lord God: Behold, I will take the people of Israel from the nations among which they have gone, and will gather them from all around, and bring them to their own land. 22 And I will make them one nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel. And one king shall be king over them all, and they shall be no longer two nations, and no longer divided into two kingdoms. 23 They shall not defile themselves anymore with their idols and their detestable things, or with any of their transgressions. But I will save them from all the backslidings in which they have sinned, and will cleanse them; and they shall be my people, and I will be their God.

24 “My servant David shall be king over them, and they shall all have one shepherd. They shall walk in my rules and be careful to obey my statutes. 25 They shall dwell in the land that I gave to my servant Jacob, where your fathers lived. They and their children and their children's children shall dwell there forever, and David my servant shall be their prince forever.26 I will make a covenant of peace with them. It shall be an everlasting covenant with them. And I will set them in their land and multiply them, and will set my sanctuary in their midst forevermore. 27 My dwelling place shall be with them, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. 28 Then the nations will know that I am the Lord who sanctifies Israel, when my sanctuary is in their midst forevermore.”

17) Jesus comes and is only sent to the lost sheep of Israel (Mt 15:24).
Mt 15:24 He answered, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”

18) Jesus doesn't go to Israelites cut off from the covenant because it was unlawful (Gen 17:14, Acts 10:28).
Gen 17:14 Any uncircumcised male who is not circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin shall be cut off from his people; he has broken my covenant.”

Acts 10:28 And he said to them, “You yourselves know how unlawful it is for a Jew to associate with or to visit anyone of another nation, but God has shown me that I should not call any person common or unclean.

19) Paul declares Abraham is the one man from whom "every nation" came from by quoting Deuteronomy 32:8 (Acts 17:26) thus declaring Genesis 17:5 was fulfilled in his day. Paul only wrote about Abraham's promise to reenforce this point (Rom 4:16-19) and not some other man.
Deuteronomy 32:8  When the Most High gave to the nations their inheritance, when he divided mankind, he fixed the borders of the peoples according to the number of the sons of God.

Acts 17:26 And he made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined allotted periods and the boundaries of their dwelling place,

Genesis 17:5  No longer shall your name be called Abram, but your name shall be Abraham, for I have made you the father of a multitude of nations.

20) Paul teaches in the grafting in of gentiles into covenant Israel "all Israel" (Rom 11:25-27) will be saved through the NC.
Rom 11:25-27  Lest you be wise in your own sight, I do not want you to be unaware of this mystery, brothers: a partial hardening has come upon Israel, until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in. 26 And in this way all Israel will be saved, as it is written, “The Deliverer will come from Zion, he will banish ungodliness from Jacob”; 27 “and this will be my covenant with them when I take away their sins.”

21) The bible promises the OC to Israel (Deut 5:2-3) and the NC to the children of those who received the OC (Jer 31:34, Heb 8:8-12). There is no one else named as being included into either covenants.
Deut 5:2-3  The Lord our God made a covenant with us in Horeb. Not with our fathers did the Lordmake this covenant, but with us, who are all of us here alive today.

Jer 31:34 34 And no longer shall each one teach his neighbor and each his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest, declares the Lord. For I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.”

Heb 8:8-12    For he finds fault with them when he says:

“Behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord,
when I will establish a new covenant with the house of Israel
and with the house of Judah,
not like the covenant that I made with their fathers
on the day when I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt.
For they did not continue in my covenant,
and so I showed no concern for them, declares the Lord.
10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel
after those days, declares the Lord:
I will put my laws into their minds,
and write them on their hearts,
and I will be their God,
and they shall be my people.
11 And they shall not teach, each one his neighbor
and each one his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’
for they shall all know me,
from the least of them to the greatest.
12 For I will be merciful toward their iniquities,
and I will remember their sins no more.”

22) Jesus teaches only the twelve tribes of Israel will be judged (Mt 19:28).
Mt 19:28   Jesus said to them, “Truly, I say to you, in the new world, when the Son of Man will sit on his glorious throne, you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

23) Paul explains the resurrection was a promise to Abraham and his descendants (Acts 26:6-8 Rom 9:3) which is why Abraham Isaac and Jacob are mentioned as being present in heaven (Mt 8:11)

Acts 26:6-8 And now I stand here on trial because of my hope in the promise made by God to our fathers, to which our twelve tribes hope to attain, as they earnestly worship night and day. And for this hope I am accused by Jews, O king! Why is it thought incredible by any of you that God raises the dead?

Rom 9:3 For I could wish that I myself were accursed and cut off from Christ for the sake of my brothers, my kinsmen according to the flesh.

Mt 8:11 I tell you, many will come from east and west and recline at table with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven,

24) Abraham and his descendants were promised to be heirs of the kosmos/world (Rom 4:13).
Rom 4:13 For the promise to Abraham and his offspring that he would be heir of the world did not come through the law but through the righteousness of faith.

25) Israel is a biological name. Descendant is a biological term. Abraham as a father is biological. Sarah as a mother is biological (Rom 4:19, Heb 11:11-12, 1 Peter 3:6). "In Isaac your descendants shall be called" is biological.
Rom 4:19 He did not weaken in faith when he considered his own body, which was as good as dead (since he was about a hundred years old), or when he considered the barrenness of Sarah's womb.

Heb 11:11-12 conceive, even when she was past the age, since she considered him faithful who had promised. 12 Therefore from one man, and him as good as dead, were born descendants as many as the stars of heaven and as many as the innumerable grains of sand by the seashore.

1 Peter 3:6  as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord. And you are her children, if you do good and do not fear anything that is frightening.

26) No where in scripture are non-Israelites promised covenants or resurrection.
