 Revelation is the most symbolic book of the Bible which references numerous other books in Scripture. 


Twelve is symbolic for divine structure, government perfection/ completion.  There are 12 Tribes, 12 Apostles…

 

A thousand is symbolic of fullness / completeness.


YHWH owns the cattle on a 1000 hills (Ps 50:10) but the 1001st belongs to satan. j/k.  No, it means God completely owns every sheep, hill, everything... 

 I will curse those who hate me to the 3rd and 4th generation, but to those who love me I will bless to a thousand generation (Gen 34:6-8). 
Simply those who love God are completely blessed.

Better is one day in your house than a 1000 elsewhere (Ps 84:10). It's saying 1 day in God's house is far better than the completeness/ fullness of being anywhere else outside of God's presence. 

 

The 144,000 symbolizes the twelve tribes of Israel times twelve thousand of each tribe which equals completion/ fullness of the firstfruits of the New Creation, The New Testament church, The New Jerusalem under the rule of Christ. (12x12x1000).  

 

 

Revelation 7:1-17

After this I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, holding back the four winds of the earth, that no wind might blow on earth or sea or against any tree. 2 Then I saw another angel ascending from the rising of the sun, WITH THE SEAL OF THE LIVING GOD, and he called with a loud voice to the four angels who had been given power to harm earth and sea, 3 saying, “Do not harm the earth or the sea or the trees, until we have SEALED THE SERVANTS OF OUR GOD ON THEIR FOREHEADS.” 4 And I heard the number of the sealed, 144,000, SEALED FROM EVERY TRIBE OF THE SONS OF ISRAEL:
5 12,000 from the tribe of Judah were sealed,
12,000 from the tribe of Reuben,
12,000 from the tribe of Gad,
6 12,000 from the tribe of Asher,
12,000 from the tribe of Naphtali,
12,000 from the tribe of Manasseh,
7 12,000 from the tribe of Simeon,
12,000 from the tribe of Levi,
12,000 from the tribe of Issachar,
8 12,000 from the tribe of Zebulun,
12,000 from the tribe of Joseph,
12,000 from the tribe of Benjamin were sealed.

9 After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands, 10 and crying out with a loud voice, “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!” 11 And all the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders and the four living creatures, and they fell on their faces before the throne and worshiped God, 12 saying, “Amen! Blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and honor and power and might be to our God forever and ever! Amen.”
13 Then one of the elders addressed me, saying, “Who are these, clothed in white robes, and from where have they come?” 14 I said to him, “Sir, you know.” And he said to me, “THESE ARE THE ONES COMING OUT OF THE GREAT TRIBULATION. THEY HAVE WASHED THEIR ROBES AND MADE THEM WHITE IN THE BLOOD OF THE LAMB.
15 “Therefore they are before the throne of God,
    and serve him day and night in his temple;
    and he who sits on the throne will SHELTER THEM WITH HIS PRESENCE.
16 THEY SHALL HUNGER NO MORE, NEITHER THIRST ANYMORE;
    THE SUN SHALL NOT STRIKE THEM,
    NOR ANY SCORCHING HEAT.
17 FOR THE LAMB IN THE MIDST OF THE THRONE WILL BE THEIR SHEPHERD,
    AND HE WILL GUIDE THEM TO SPRINGS OF LIVING WATER,
AND GOD WILL WIPE AWAY EVERY TEAR FROM THEIR EYES.”


 Revelation 7:4
***The 144,000 sealed are from the 12 tribes of the Sons of ISRAEL.

***THE GREAT MULTITUDE is The 144,000 called out from every nation, tribes, peoples, languages.


The Northern Tribes were scattered into the pagan gentile nations by YHWH for their sin and adultery.  YHWH promised to bring them back in THE LATTER DAYS.  Israel would be fished out of the nations by The Gospel.


****Another angle regarding THE GREAT MULTITUDE is that they are Ephraim.   

Genesis 48:17-19 (jubilee 2000) Then Joseph seeing that his father laid his right hand upon the head of Ephraim, it displeased him; and he held up his father’s hand, to remove it from Ephraim’s head unto Manasseh’s head.18 And Joseph said unto his father, Not so, my father, for this is the firstborn; put thy right hand upon his head.19 And his father refused and said, I know it, my son, I know it; he also shall become a people, and he also shall be great; but truly his younger brother shall be greater than he, and his seed shall become a multitude of Gentiles (nations or people).

***The sealing of the 144,000 on their foreheads is NOT a literal marking on these saints’ heads but the sealing of God’s Holy Spirit being in them. 
  1. 2 Corinthians 1:22  and who has also put HIS SEAL ON US AND GIVEN US HIS SPIRIT in our hearts as a guarantee.
  2. Ephesians 1:13  In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, WERE SEALED WITH THE PROMISED HOLY SPIRIT,
  3. Ephesians 4:30  And do not grieve THE HOLY SPIRIT OF GOD, BY WHOM YOU WERE SEALED FOR THE DAY OF REDEMPTION.
  4. Deuteronomy 6:4-9 
    4 “Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. 5 You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. 6 And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. 7 You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. 8 You shall bind them as a SIGN on your HAND, and they shall be as frontlets BETWEEN YOUR EYES.  9 You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.
 **YHWH's Word is to be bound as a SIGN on one's HAND.  How is YHWH's Word a SIGN on one's HAND?  Hand is symbolic of one's conduct.  One conducts oneself based upon their belief.
The frontlets BETWEEN ONE'S EYES is THE FOREHEAD.  This is symbolic of one's mind, heart, thinking, belief.



Revelation 14:1-5 

behold, on Mount Zion stood the Lamb, and with him 144,000 WHO HAD HIS NAME AND HIS FATHER'S NAME WRITTEN ON THEIR FOREHEADS. 2 And I heard a voice from heaven like the roar of many waters and like the sound of loud thunder. The voice I heard was like the sound of harpists playing on their harps, 3 and THEY WERE SINGING A NEW SONG before the throne and before the four living creatures and before the elders. No one could learn that song except the 144,000 who had been REDEEMED from the earth. 4 IT IS THESE WHO HAVE NOT DEFILED THEMSELVES WITH WOMEN, FOR THEY ARE VIRGINS. It is these who follow the Lamb wherever he goes. These have been REDEEMED from mankind as FIRSTFRUITS FOR GOD AND THE LAMB, 5 and in their mouth no lie was found, for they are blameless.



 Revelation 14:1
***The 144,000 who were the sons of Israel, had the name of the Lamb’s Father on their foreheads. 


Revelation 14:3-4
***The 144,000 were REDEEMED from the earth or SAVED, JUSTIFIED, RECONCILED, BOUGHT BACK and BROUGHT BACK INTO RELATIONSHIP with YHWH because sinning under The Law brought alienation and separation.  Covenant Israel were the only people YHWH had a relationship with.



2 Corinthians 11:2  For I feel a divine jealousy for you, since I betrothed you to one husband, TO PRESENT YOU AS A PURE VIRGIN TO CHRIST.

 ** Around 55 A.D., Paul speaks of presenting the 1st century Church to Christ as a pure virgin.  This would take place at the wedding of Christ and His church in 70 A.D. 

    1. Romans 8:23   And not only this, but also we ourselves, having THE FIRST FRUITS OF THE SPIRIT, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting eagerly for our adoption as sons, the redemption of our body.
    2. Romans 11:16  If the dough offered as FIRSTFRUITS is holy, so is the whole lump, and if the root is holy, so are the branches.
    3. 1 Corinthians 15:20  But in fact Christ has been raised from the dead, the FIRSTFRUITS of those who have fallen asleep.
    4. 1 Corinthians 15:23  But each in his own order: Christ the FIRSTFRUITS, then at his coming those who belong to Christ.
    5. 2 Thessalonians 2:13 But we ought always to give thanks to God for you, brothers beloved by the Lord, because God chose you as the FIRSTFRUITS to be saved, through sanctification by the Spirit and belief in the truth.
    6. James 1:18  Of his own will he brought us forth by the word of truth, that we should be a kind of FIRSTFRUITS of his creatures.



    Revelation 21:12
    And it had a wall great and high, with twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the sons of Israel:

    ***Whose names were written on gates?  The 12 tribes of the Sons of ISRAEL  



    The 144,000 were from the 12 Tribes of Israel.  They were also The Great Multitude and the firstfruits for God and The Lamb.   
    The 144,000 went through The Great Tribulation.  After Babylon Israel was destroyed in The Great Tribulation which Christ said would be in the 1st century generation, The 144,000 were redeemed, saved, reconciled and married to Christ in 70A.D.


    The events in The Book of Revelation are said to be near, soon, at hand, coming quickly, coming soon.  Christ speaks of His coming return taking place in that “this generation,”. 

    Matt. 24:34 “THIS GENERATION WILL NOT PASS AWAY UNTIL ALL THESE THINGS TAKE PLACE.”
    Matt. 10:23 “You shall not finish going through the cities of Israel, UNTIL THE SON OF MAN COMES
    Matt. 16:27-28 “THE SON OF MAN IS ABOUT TO COME IN THE GLORY OF HIS FATHER WITH HIS ANGELS and will then recompense every man according to his deeds.” THERE ARE SOME OF THOSE WHO ARE STANDING HERE WHO SHALL NOT TASTE DEATH UNTIL THEY SEE THE SON OF MAN COMING IN HIS KINGDOM.”  see Rev.22:12


    It would only be a little while, Christ would not delay.


    Hebrews 10:37 

    FOR YET IN A VERY LITTLE WHILE,
    HE WHO IS COMING WILL COME, AND WILL NOT DELAY.


    Christ promised the first Christians that He would surely come quickly.


    Revelation 22:20 

    He who testifies to these things says, “Yes, I AM COMING QUICKLY.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus.



    Everything would take place shortly.

    The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave Him to show to His bond-servants, THE THINGS WHICH MUST SOON TAKE PLACE; and He sent and communicated it by His angel to His bond-servant John,

    3.  Rev. 22:6 And he said to me, "These words are trustworthy and true. And the Lord, the God of the spirits of the prophets, has sent his angel to show his servants WHAT MUST SOON TAKE PLACE."

    34.Rev. 22:7 "And behold, I AM COMING SOON. Blessed is the one who keeps the words of the prophecy of this book."

    35.  Rev. 22:10 And he said to me, "Do not seal up the words of the prophecy of this book, FOR THE TIME IS NEAR.

    36.  Dan 8:26 “The vision of the evenings and mornings that has been given you is true, but SEAL UP THE VISION, FOR IT CONCERNS THE DISTANT FUTURE.”

    37.  Rev. 22:12 “Behold, I AM COMING QUICKLY.”
    38.  Rev. 22:20 “Yes, I AM COMING QUICKLY.”

     *DOES SOON AND NEAR MEAN LONGER THAN 2000 YEARS? 
    DOES I AM COMING QUICKLY MEAN HE’LL BE DELAYED FOR 2000 PLUS YEARS?
    The Bible story ENDS with The Twelve Tribes of Israel redeemed aka saved and nobody else!  This took place in 70AD!
