REPENT - In the Bible, repentance means a deep, complete change of mind, heart, and direction. It is not just feeling sorry or guilty for doing wrong. True biblical repentance is an active choice to turn away from sin and turn toward God.
• Old Testament (Hebrew - NACHAM): Often means to feel sorrow, pity, or to turn back and change course.
• New Testament (Greek - METANOIA): Literally means "to change one's mind". In Scripture, this new way of thinking always produces a shift in behavior and direction.
REPENTANCE presupposes one is in a relationship with certain rules/ conditions/ laws that one of the parties break. Only Israel was in a COVENANT RELATIONSHIP with YHWH. The bible likens God’s covenant with Israel to being married. When Israel sins against God by worshipping idols, she is called an adulterous, sinner, harlot. This is obviously seen in the Old Testament, but somehow disappears in the New Testament because people, non-Israelites, have twisted the bible story, inserted themselves into the covenant and now are in a relationship with YHWH. LOL. Majority of Christendom since 70AD. LOL
YHWH gave and placed Only Israel UNDER His Covenant Ten Commandments and 613 other commands. Only Israel broke, transgressed and sinned against YHWH by breaking His Covenant Law! Thus, they violated the covenant and needed to REPENT to restore the covenant relationship!
The New Testament or New Covenant is the means that YHWH uses to restore Israel. So, those of Israel who repented and believed were saved, restored to relationship. Those who didn’t repent and believe perished.
Is it fair for a Just, Righteous, Holy Holy Holy God to send people to suffer eternal damnation and torture for infinity in a made-up place called "HELL" for never knowing a law that they were under????
Are you a BIBLICAL SINNER who needs SALVATION?? HAVE YOU BEEN READING the Bible WRONG??? https://tueseahkiong.blogspot.com/2026/03/blog-post_24.html
Repentance is not always connected to a Israel's salvation. In Jonah, Nineveh was commanded to repent (change their mind, their evil ways, and they did.). So, God didn't annihilate them!
