The word for earth is eretz (Hebrew) or ge (greek) can be translated as land. Throughout Scripture it refers to the land of Israel, the covenant land or covenant world. Four corners, four winds from one end of heaven/ earth/ land is an apocalyptic, figurative, and symbolic descriptions of actions of YHWH over His covenant realm.

It's interesting how the boundaries of Israel are quadrilateral, thus, making 4 corners and 4 winds more relevant.

The New Testament passages below describe the Old Covenant World/ Land.

Matthew 12:42 The queen of the South will rise up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it, for SHE CAME FROM THE ENDS OF THE EARTH to hear the wisdom

of Solomon, and behold, something greater than Solomon is here.

Luke 11:31 The queen of the South will rise up at the judgment with the men of this generation and condemn them, for SHE CAME FROM THE ENDS OF THE EARTH to hear the wisdom of Solomon, and behold, something greater than Solomon is here.

**The Queen of the south came from the south end of the covenant land in Sheba, Ethiopa.

Matthew 24:31 And he will send out his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather HIS ELECT from the FOUR WINDS, from one end of heaven to the other.

Mark 13:27 And then he will send out the angels and gather his elect FROM THE FOUR WINDS, FROM THE ENDS OF THE EARTH TO THE ENDS OF HEAVEN.

**Yeshua’s messengers gathered the elect of YHWH through the Gospel in the 1^stcentury.

Revelation 7:1 [The 144,000 of Israel Sealed] After this I saw four angels standing at the FOUR CORNERS of the earth, holding back the four winds of the earth,that no wind might blow on earth or sea or against any tree.

**The four corners of the covenant land was about to face judgment.

Revelation 20:7-8 ⁷And when the thousand years are ended, Satan will be released from his prisonand will come out to deceive the nations that are at THE FOUR CORNERS OF THE EARTH, Gog and Magog, to gather them for battle; their number is like the sand of the sea.

**The Old Covenant World/Land was judged by foreign armies compiled by the Romans.

FOUR CORNERS OF THE EARTH

Isaiah 11:11-12In that day the Lord will extend his hand yet a second time TO RECOVER THE REMNANT THAT REMAINS OF HIS PEOPLE, FROM ASSYRIA, FROM EGYPT, FROM PATHROS, FROM CUSH, FROM ELAM, FROM SHINAR, FROM HAMATH, AND FROM THE COASTLANDS OF THE SEA.

He will raise a signal for the nations and WILL ASSEMBLE THE BANISHED OF ISRAEL, and gather the dispersed of Judah from the FOUR CORNERS of the earth.

**Notice how this prophecy is fulfilled in the generation of Yeshua. See Matthew 24:31 and Mark 13:26

Ezekiel 7:2 “And you, O son of man, thus says the Lord God to the land of Israel: An end! The end has come upon the FOUR CORNERS of the land.

FOUR WINDS

Jeremiah 49:36 And I will bring upon Elam the FOUR WINDS from the four quarters of heaven. And I WILL SCATTER THEM TO ALL THOSE WINDS,and there shall be no nation to which those driven out of Elam shall not come.

Ezekiel 37:9 Then he said to me, “Prophesy to the breath; prophesy, son of man, and say to the breath, Thus says the Lord God:Come from the FOUR WINDS, O breath, and breathe on these slain, that they may live.”

Daniel 7:2 Daniel declared, “I saw in my vision by night, and behold, the FOUR WINDS of heaven were stirring up the great sea.

Daniel 8:8 Then the goat became exceedingly great, but when he was strong, the great horn was broken, and instead of it there came up four conspicuous horns toward the FOUR WINDS of heaven.

Daniel 11:4 And as soon as he has arisen, his kingdom shall be broken and divided toward the FOUR WINDS of heaven,but not to his posterity, nor according to the authority with which he ruled, for his kingdom shall be plucked up and go to others besides these.

Zechariah 2:6 Up! Up! Flee from the land of the north, declares the Lord. For I have spread you abroad as the FOUR WINDS of the heavens, declares the Lord.

Zechariah 6:5 And the angel answered and said to me, “These are going out to the FOUR WINDS of heaven, after presenting themselves before the Lord of all the earth.

FROM ONE END OF HEAVEN

Deuteronomy 4:32 [ The Lord Alone Is God ] “For ask now of the days that are past, which were before you, SINCE THE DAY THAT GOD CREATED MAN ON THE EARTH, AND ASK FROM ONE END OF HEAVEN TO THE OTHER, whether such a great thing as this has ever happened or was ever heard of.

Psalm 19:6 ITS RISING IS FROM THE END OF THE HEAVENS, AND ITS CIRCUIT TO THE END OF THEM,and there is nothing hidden from its heat.

Isaiah 13:5 THEY COME FROM A DISTANT LAND, FROM THE END OF THE HEAVENS,the Lord and the weapons of his indignation, to destroy the whole land.

Sojourners appeared to have the same law, same treatment, same benefits as God’s people.
God seems to feel the same way about sojourners as he does the fatherless, widows, elderly and the oppressed.....

Exodus 12:19 - For seven days no leaven is to be found in your houses. If anyone eats what is leavened, that person will be cut off from the congregation of Israel, whether he is a sojourner or a native of the land.

Exodus 12:48 - If a stranger shall sojourn with you and would keep the Passover to the LORD, let all his males be circumcised. Then he may come near and keep it; he shall be as a native of the land. But no uncircumcised person shall eat of it.

Exodus 12:49 - There shall be one law for the native and for the stranger who sojourns among you.”

Exodus 20:10 - but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the LORD your God. On it you shall not do any work, you, or your son, or your daughter, your male servant, or your female servant, or your livestock, or the sojourner who is within your gates.

Exodus 22:21 - “You shall not wrong a sojourner or oppress him, for you were sojourners in the land of Egypt.
