Strange parallel in Genesis 19 and Judges 19

Strange parallel in Genesis 19 and Judges 19 ESV

Genesis 19

The two angels came to Sodom in the evening, and Lot was sitting in the gate of Sodom. When Lot saw them, he rose to meet them and bowed himself with his face to the earth 2 and said, “My lords, please turn aside to your servant's house and spend the night and wash your feet. Then you may rise up early and go on your way.” They said, “No; we will spend the night in the town square.”3 But he pressed them strongly; so they turned aside to him and entered his house. And he made them a feast and baked unleavened bread, and they ate.
4 But before they lay down, the men of the city, the men of Sodom, both young and old, all the people to the last man, surrounded the house. 5 And they called to Lot, “Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us, that we may know them.” 6 Lot went out to the men at the entrance, shut the door after him, 7 and said, “I beg you, my brothers, do not act so wickedly. 8 Behold, I have two daughters who have not known any man. Let me bring them out to you, and do to them as you please. Only do nothing to these men, for they have come under the shelter of my roof.” But they said, “Stand back!” And they said, “This fellow came to sojourn, and he has become the judge! Now we will deal worse with you than with them.” Then they pressed hard against the man Lot, and drew near to break the door down. 10 But the men reached out their hands and brought Lot into the house with them and shut the door. 11 And they struck with blindness the men who were at the entrance of the house, both small and great, so that they wore themselves out groping for the door.

12 Then the men said to Lot, “Have you anyone else here? Sons-in-law, sons, daughters, or anyone you have in the city, bring them out of the place. 13 For we are about to destroy this place, because the outcry against its people has become great before the Lord, and the Lord has sent us to destroy it. 14 So Lot went out and said to his sons-in-law, who were to marry his daughters, “Up! Get out of this place, for the Lord is about to destroy the city.” But he seemed to his sons-in-law to be jesting.
15 As morning dawned, the angels urged Lot, saying, “Up! Take your wife and your two daughters who are here, lest you be swept away in the punishment of the city.” 16 But he lingered. So the men seized him and his wife and his two daughters by the hand, the Lord being merciful to him, and they brought him out and set him outside the city. 17 And as they brought them out, one said, “Escape for your life. Do not look back or stop anywhere in the valley. Escape to the hills, lest you be swept away.” 18 And Lot said to them, “Oh, no, my lords. 19 Behold, your servant has found favor in your sight, and you have shown me great kindness in saving my life. But I cannot escape to the hills, lest the disaster overtake me and I die. 20 Behold, this city is near enough to flee to, and it is a little one. Let me escape there—is it not a little one?—and my life will be saved!” 21 He said to him, “Behold, I grant you this favor also, that I will not overthrow the city of which you have spoken. 22 Escape there quickly, for I can do nothing till you arrive there.” Therefore the name of the city was called Zoar.

God Destroys Sodom

23 The sun had risen on the earth when Lot came to Zoar. 2Then the Lord rained on Sodom and Gomorrah sulfur and fire from the Lord out of heaven. 25 And he overthrew those cities, and all the valley, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and what grew on the ground. 26 But Lot's wife, behind him, looked back, and she became a pillar of salt.
27 And Abraham went early in the morning to the place where he had stood before the Lord.28 And he looked down toward Sodom and Gomorrah and toward all the land of the valley, and he looked and, behold, the smoke of the land went up like the smoke of a furnace.
29 So it was that, when God destroyed the cities of the valley, God remembered Abraham and sent Lot out of the midst of the overthrow when he overthrew the cities in which Lot had lived.

Lot and His Daughters

30 Now Lot went up out of Zoar and lived in the hills with his two daughters, for he was afraid to live in Zoar. So he lived in a cave with his two daughters. 31 And the firstborn said to the younger, “Our father is old, and there is not a man on earth to come in to us after the manner of all the earth. 32 Come, let us make our father drink wine, and we will lie with him, that we may preserve offspring from our father.” 33 So they made their father drink wine that night. And the firstborn went in and lay with her father. He did not know when she lay down or when she arose.
34 The next day, the firstborn said to the younger, “Behold, I lay last night with my father. Let us make him drink wine tonight also. Then you go in and lie with him, that we may preserve offspring from our father.” 35 So they made their father drink wine that night also. And the younger arose and lay with him, and he did not know when she lay down or when she arose.36 Thus both the daughters of Lot became pregnant by their father. 37 The firstborn bore a son and called his name Moab. He is the father of the Moabites to this day. 38 The younger also bore a son and called his name Ben-ammi. He is the father of the Ammonites to this day.

Judges 19

In those days, when there was no king in Israel, a certain Levite was sojourning in the remote parts of the hill country of Ephraim, who took to himself a concubine from Bethlehem in Judah. And his concubine was unfaithful to him, and she went away from him to her father's house at Bethlehem in Judah, and was there some four months. Then her husband arose and went after her, to speak kindly to her and bring her back. He had with him his servant and a couple of donkeys. And she brought him into her father's house. And when the girl's father saw him, he came with joy to meet him. And his father-in-law, the girl's father, made him stay, and he remained with him three days. So they ate and drank and spent the night there. And on the fourth day they arose early in the morning, and he prepared to go, but the girl's father said to his son-in-law, “Strengthen your heart with a morsel of bread, and after that you may go.” So the two of them sat and ate and drank together. And the girl's father said to the man, “Be pleased to spend the night, and let your heart be merry.” And when the man rose up to go, his father-in-law pressed him, till he spent the night there again. And on the fifth day he arose early in the morning to depart. And the girl's father said, “Strengthen your heart and wait until the day declines.” So they ate, both of them. And when the man and his concubine and his servant rose up to depart, his father-in-law, the girl's father, said to him, “Behold, now the day has waned toward evening. Please, spend the night. Behold, the day draws to its close. Lodge here and let your heart be merry, and tomorrow you shall arise early in the morning for your journey, and go home.”
10 But the man would not spend the night. He rose up and departed and arrived opposite Jebus (that is, Jerusalem). He had with him a couple of saddled donkeys, and his concubine was with him. 11 When they were near Jebus, the day was nearly over, and the servant said to his master, “Come now, let us turn aside to this city of the Jebusites and spend the night in it.” 12 And his master said to him, “We will not turn aside into the city of foreigners, who do not belong to the people of Israel, but we will pass on to Gibeah.” 13 And he said to his young man, “Come and let us draw near to one of these places and spend the night at Gibeah or at Ramah.” 14 So they passed on and went their way. And the sun went down on them near Gibeah, which belongs to Benjamin, 15 and they turned aside there, to go in and spend the night at Gibeah. And he went in and sat down in the open square of the city, for no one took them into his house to spend the night.

16 And behold, an old man was coming from his work in the field at evening. The man was from the hill country of Ephraim, and he was sojourning in Gibeah. The men of the place were Benjaminites. 17 And he lifted up his eyes and saw the traveler in the open square of the city. And the old man said, “Where are you going? And where do you come from?” 18 And he said to him, “We are passing from Bethlehem in Judah to the remote parts of the hill country of Ephraim, from which I come. I went to Bethlehem in Judah, and I am going to the house of the Lord, but no one has taken me into his house.19 We have straw and feed for our donkeys, with bread and wine for me and your female servant and the young man with your servants. There is no lack of anything.” 20 And the old man said, “Peace be to you; I will care for all your wants. Only, do not spend the night in the square.” 21 So he brought him into his house and gave the donkeys feed. And they washed their feet, and ate and drank.
22 As they were making their hearts merry, behold, the men of the city, worthless fellows, surrounded the house, beating on the door. And they said to the old man, the master of the house, “Bring out the man who came into your house, that we may know him.” 23 And the man, the master of the house, went out to them and said to them, “No, my brothers, do not act so wickedly; since this man has come into my house, do not do this vile thing. 24 Behold, here are my virgin daughter and his concubine. Let me bring them out now. Violate them and do with them what seems good to you, but against this man do not do this outrageous thing.” 25 But the men would not listen to him. So the man seized his concubine and made her go out to them. And they knew her and abused her all night until the morning. And as the dawn began to break, they let her go. 26 And as morning appeared, the woman came and fell down at the door of the man's house where her master was, until it was light.

27 And her master rose up in the morning, and when he opened the doors of the house and went out to go on his way, behold, there was his concubine lying at the door of the house, with her hands on the threshold. 28 He said to her, “Get up, let us be going.” But there was no answer. Then he put her on the donkey, and the man rose up and went away to his home.29 And when he entered his house, he took a knife, and taking hold of his concubine he divided her, limb by limb, into twelve pieces, and sent her throughout all the territory of Israel.30 And all who saw it said, “Such a thing has never happened or been seen from the day that the people of Israel came up out of the land of Egypt until this day; consider it, take counsel, and speak.”

G 3: Interesting how unleavened bread was prepared and eaten before leaving.
G 4: The men of Sodom want to get at the angels/ messengers and KNOW them aka have homosexual relationships with them.
G 8: Lot is willing to give up his to virgin daughters to the men of Sodom in order for them to not get at the angels.  smh.
G 9: Men of Sodom get pissed with Lot for being a foreigner trying to tell them what to do, so they start to push their way forward.
G 11: The angels blind the men of Sodom and they freak out still groping for the door to get to the angels
G 29: Because of Abraham, was Lot and his family saved.
G 31-36: Lot's daughters get their father drunk in order to have sex with him and get pregnant.  The influence of the Sodam & Gomorrah Public school system.  smh.
G 37-38: Lot's daughters bore 2 enemies of Israel, the Moabites and Ammonites.

J 1: a Levite takes a concubine.
J 2: The Levite's concubine is an unfaithful.
J 10: Jebus is Jerusalem
J 14: Gibeah is part of the tribe of Benjamin
J 20: An old man take the Levite and his concubine into his home to care for him.
J 22-: The men of Gibeah behave like the men of Sodom.
J 23: The old men tries to ward off the men of Gibeah.
J 24: The old men offers his virgin daughter and the Levite's concubine for the men of Gibeah to violate them and do as they please to them. wtfook!?
J 25: The men of Gibeah would not listen, so the Levite made his concubine go out to them.
J 29: The Levite cuts up his concubine into 12 pieces and sends parts of her body to the territory of Israel or the 12 tribes.
I wonder what the significance of giving up your daughter(s) and/or concubine to thugs instead of a visitor(s)?  What type cultural appeasement is this?

When the men of city said that they want to know them (the visiting male angels or visiting male stranger), they did not want to sit down and just have a friendly conversation about who they are, where they are from, what their favorite foods were.  The men of city in fact wanted to get down and know them sexually.

EARTHQUAKES in Scripture

EARTHQUAKES in Scripture

August 24, 2014 at 3:37am
And he said, “Go out and stand on the mount before theLord.” And behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind tore the mountains and broke in pieces the rocks before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind. And after the wind an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake.

And after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire the sound of a low whisper.

you will be visited by the Lord of hosts with thunder and with earthquake and great noise, with whirlwind and tempest, and the flame of a devouring fire.

Then the Spirit lifted me up, and I heard behind me the voice of a great earthquake: “Blessed be the glory of the Lord from its place!”

It was the sound of the wings of the living creatures as they touched one another, and the sound of the wheels beside them, and the sound of a great earthquake.

For in my jealousy and in my blazing wrath I declare, On that day there shall be a great earthquake in the land of Israel.

The words of Amos, who was among the shepherds of Tekoa, which he saw concerning Israel in the days of Uzziah king of Judah and in the days of Jeroboam the son of Joash, king of Israel, two years before the earthquake.

And you shall flee to the valley of my mountains, for the valley of the mountains shall reach to Azal. And you shall flee as you fled from the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah. Then the Lord my God will come, and all the holy ones with him.

For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places.

When the centurion and those who were with him, keeping watch over Jesus, saw the earthquake and what took place, they were filled with awe and said, “Truly this was the Son of God!”

And behold, there was a great earthquake, for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven and came and rolled back the stone and sat on it.

For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be earthquakes in various places; there will be famines. These are but the beginning of the birth pains.

There will be great earthquakes, and in various places famines and pestilences. And there will be terrors and great signs from heaven.

and suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken. And immediately all the doors were opened, and everyone's bonds were unfastened.

When he opened the sixth seal, I looked, and behold, there was a great earthquake, and the sun became black as sackcloth, the full moon became like blood,

Then the angel took the censer and filled it with fire from the altar and threw it on the earth, and there were peals of thunder, rumblings, flashes of lightning, and an earthquake.

And at that hour there was a great earthquake, and a tenth of the city fell. Seven thousand people were killed in theearthquake, and the rest were terrified and gave glory to the God of heaven.

Then God's temple in heaven was opened, and the ark of his covenant was seen within his temple. There were flashes of lightning, rumblings, peals of thunder, an earthquake, and heavy hail.

And there were flashes of lightning, rumblings, peals of thunder, and a great earthquake such as there had never been since man was on the earth, so great was that earthquake.

God's 300

God's 300 - not to be confused with the Spartans.

The Lord spoke to Gideon about the number of his soldiers, 33,000 were too many and that they would say "My own hand has saved me."
So, in reducing the number, he asks all the dudes who afraid to go home and 22,000 left; leaving Gideon with 10,000.
Next God gets rid of the dudes who drink water by going down on one knee while staying alert.  This accounts for 9,700.
The one's who remain are the guys who stuck their faces into the water like a dog to drink.  LOL.
Thus, Gideon's 300.  Men who are unafraid, unaware and unsmart.  Thus, it had to be an act of God by which they got saved.

Judges 7 English Standard Version (ESV)

Then Jerubbaal (that is, Gideon) and all the people who were with him rose early and encamped beside the spring of Harod. And the camp of Midian was north of them, by the hill of Moreh, in the valley.

2 The Lord said to Gideon, “The people with you are too many for me to give the Midianites into their hand, lest Israel boast over me, saying, ‘My own hand has saved me.’ 3 Now therefore proclaim in the ears of the people, saying, ‘Whoever is fearful and trembling, let him return home and hurry away from Mount Gilead.’” Then 22,000 of the people returned, and 10,000 remained.

4 And the Lord said to Gideon, “The people are still too many. Take them down to the water, and I will test them for you there, and anyone of whom I say to you, ‘This one shall go with you,’ shall go with you, and anyone of whom I say to you, ‘This one shall not go with you,’ shall not go.” 5 So he brought the people down to the water. And the Lord said to Gideon, “Every one who laps the water with his tongue, as a dog laps, you shall set by himself. Likewise, every one who kneels down to drink.” 6 And the number of those who lapped, putting their hands to their mouths, was 300 men, but all the rest of the people knelt down to drink water. 7 And the Lord said to Gideon, “With the 300 men who lapped I will save you and give the Midianites into your hand, and let all the others go every man to his home.”8 So the people took provisions in their hands, and their trumpets. And he sent all the rest of Israel every man to his tent, but retained the 300 men. And the camp of Midian was below him in the valley.

9 That same night the Lord said to him, “Arise, go down against the camp, for I have given it into your hand. 10 But if you are afraid to go down, go down to the camp with Purah your servant. 11 And you shall hear what they say, and afterward your hands shall be strengthened to go down against the camp.” Then he went down with Purah his servant to the outposts of the armed men who were in the camp. 12 And the Midianites and the Amalekites and all the people of the East lay along the valley like locusts in abundance, and their camels were without number, as the sand that is on the seashore in abundance. 13 When Gideon came, behold, a man was telling a dream to his comrade. And he said, “Behold, I dreamed a dream, and behold, a cake of barley bread tumbled into the camp of Midian and came to the tent and struck it so that it fell and turned it upside down, so that the tent lay flat.” 14 And his comrade answered, “This is no other than the sword of Gideon the son of Joash, a man of Israel; God has given into his hand Midian and all the camp.”

15 As soon as Gideon heard the telling of the dream and its interpretation, he worshiped. And he returned to the camp of Israel and said, “Arise, for the Lord has given the host of Midian into your hand.” 16 And he divided the 300 men into three companies and put trumpets into the hands of all of them and empty jars, with torches inside the jars. 17 And he said to them, “Look at me, and do likewise. When I come to the outskirts of the camp, do as I do. 18 When I blow the trumpet, I and all who are with me, then blow the trumpets also on every side of all the camp and shout, ‘For the Lordand for Gideon.’”

19 So Gideon and the hundred men who were with him came to the outskirts of the camp at the beginning of the middle watch, when they had just set the watch. And they blew the trumpets and smashed the jars that were in their hands. 20 Then the three companies blew the trumpets and broke the jars. They held in their left hands the torches, and in their right hands the trumpets to blow. And they cried out, “A sword for the Lord and for Gideon!” 21 Every man stood in his place around the camp, and all the army ran. They cried out and fled. 22 When they blew the 300 trumpets, the Lord setevery man's sword against his comrade and against all the army. And the army fled as far as Beth-shittah toward Zererah, as far as the border of Abel-meholah, by Tabbath. 23 And the men of Israel were called out from Naphtali and from Asher and from all Manasseh, and they pursued after Midian.

24 Gideon sent messengers throughout all the hill country of Ephraim, saying, “Come down against the Midianites and capture the waters against them, as far as Beth-barah, and also the Jordan.” So all the men of Ephraim were called out, and they captured the waters as far as Beth-barah, and also the Jordan. 25 And they captured the two princes of Midian, Oreb and Zeeb. They killed Oreb at the rock of Oreb, and Zeeb they killed at the winepress of Zeeb. Then they pursued Midian, and they brought the heads of Oreb and Zeeb to Gideon across the Jordan.

DON'T GO TO CHURCH, BECAUSE THE CHURCH LEFT EARTH IN 70 AD, SO WHAT THE HECK ARE THESE WANNABES DOING??? Top 3 major things to be aware about a church & CHURCH-IANITY by Tuese Ahkiong

DON'T GO TO CHURCH,
BECAUSE THE CHURCH LEFT EARTH IN 70 AD,
SO WHAT THE HECK ARE THESE WANNABES DOING?????
Playing church!
Top 3 major things to be aware about a church &
CHURCH-IANITY
by Tuese Ahkiong

Top 3 major things to be aware about a church
by Tuese Ahkiong

1)  THEOLOGY
  • Contrary to popular opinion, it's not the worship band, kids program, but is the church teaching The Gospel Truth of The Holy Bible?  Is The Lord: Father, Son and Holy Spirit being worshipped in truth and spirit.
  • Is legalism, works, performance, adherence to a specific set of church dogma and rules being taught instead of God's saving grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone as the means of salvation alone based on the authority of the Bible alone?
  • CULTS deviate from Scripture on the Gospel/Salvation, person of Christ, The Trinity, The Bible Alone being God's Word and Authority on spiritual matters...
  • So, who has the authority to say their theology is correct and everyone else's isn't?  The Holy Spirit and NOT a group of control freaks who lord their titles over people.

2)  LEADERSHIP
  • Is it a church lead, fed, and protected by biblical elders who exercise biblical discipline and discipleship?
  • Beware of nepotism where one family and/or a small group of people control the church.
  • Beware of churches where leaders are appointed to positions because of their last name and are not anointed and appointed by The Lord.
  • Beware of pastor rule churches where people are duped into following the personality of a charismatic leader rather than being trained to follow The Holy Word of God.
  • Sin is forgivable but beware of churches that coverup sin rather than discipline it, especially among its leaders. They want to look perfect without flaws on the outside but what did Jesus say in Matthew 23 27 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs which indeed appear beautiful outwardly, but inside are full of dead men’s bones and all uncleanness. 28 Even so you also outwardly appear righteous to men, but inside you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.
  • Beware of churches where elders are used as poster boys when in reality the eldership is controlled by a small group or person.
  • CULTS are usually controlled by CHARISMATIC INFLUENTIAL LEADER.
  • Beware of churches that lord authority over others.- meaning beware of THE CONTROL FREAK pastor/leader
  • SPIRITUAL ABUSIVE by leaders
  • No accountability or discipline of leaders!
  • Does the church push UNIFORMITY like a cult or UNITY?
  • Does the leadership push UNIFORMITY of teaching through VIDEO FEEDS?  Why don't they video feed the worship rock band?  Ain't it kind of ghetto to bring your friends to a video feed? LOL.
  • Having to get "the church's official authorization."  Churches stifle the work of The Lord with bureaucracy.
  • Does the church act more like a CORPORATION than the family of God?
  • Does the church give its leader CORPORATION NAMES like senior pastor (CEO), executive pastor, founding pastor...
  • MEANINGLESS MEETINGS
  • Emasculation - God is my boyfriend songs, everything needs to be nice, neat, safe
  • BEWARE OF SEXUAL PREDATOR PASTOR who lords his authority, manipulates and seduces - Ok I have a theory. A gal close to a pastor like a secretary, ministry team member will all of sudden leave the church and end communication with long time friends at the church because the pastor was getting sexy with her.
I know a few cases in Hawaii and Cali. Usually they're big fat and ugly. Typically the corporation church spends tons of money trying to do damage control cover-up.  ANYONE ELSE EXPERIENCE THIS?
  • These pastors think they're slick and will get away with it but their sins will find them out!!!

3)  MONEY
  • SHOW ME THE MONEY!  Who controls the money?  Things always get funny with the money!
  • Churches are notorious for mishandling funds.  Co-mingling of personal funds and church funds is a common naughtiness of church peeps who control the moolah.  Beware of churches that use and abuse church resources for their personal matters.
  • Beware of no budget churches. They may say they have one, but ask and see if it be. And if it isn't so, then you'll know, that they broke number 9 and lied.  ASK TO SEE THE BUDGET!!
  • CHURCHES WILL LIE TO YOUR FACE IN JESUS NAME THAT THEY HAVE A BUDGET WHEN THEY DON'T.
  • Beware of churches that are owned by a family.
  • Beware of name it and claim health wealth prosperity teaching of give the pastor money and God will give you a thousand fold.  Using God's Name again to swindle peeps out of their money.
  • TITHING IS NOT FOR THE NEW TESTAMENT PEOPLE OF GOD!   IT WAS ONLY FOR THE 1ST COVENANT JEWS.
  • Whatever is important is usually where the money goes.  If training and discipling the saints is important then resources will be poured into this area.  If making the building pretty is important then that building is going to have pretty paint, rugs, and pews...
  • FOLLOW THE MONEY will show you what the leadership values.
  • WHY the heck are they constantly pimping CDs, books, workshops...  It's about the money!!!
  • BEWARE of CONSUMER CHRISTIANITY both monetarily and spiritually.
  • I went to a church that PAID PAGAN musicians to lead worship.
  • HOLLYWOOD churchianity with all the bright lights, lasers, video, drama queen singers,... LOL  what a joke!!!

Matthew 20 Lording authority over others

20 Then the mother of Zebedee’s sons came to Jesus with her sons and, kneeling down, asked a favor of him.
21 “What is it you want?” he asked.
She said, “Grant that one of these two sons of mine may sit at your right and the other at your left in your kingdom.”
22 “You don’t know what you are asking,” Jesus said to them. “Can you drink the cup I am going to drink?”
“We can,” they answered.
23 Jesus said to them, “You will indeed drink from my cup, but to sit at my right or left is not for me to grant. These places belong to those for whom they have been prepared by my Father.”
24 When the ten heard about this, they were indignant with the two brothers. 25 Jesus called them together and said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them. 26 Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, 27 and whoever wants to be first must be your slave— 28 just as the Son of Mandid not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

CHURCH-ianity - Corporation
by Tuese Ahkiong

Churches today are ran like corporations instead of like the household of God.  I've had too much crap lately from Christian folk in their institutionalize Christianity or churches = church-ianity.  It was exactly their crap that I believe God used to help me see their corporate mentality!

The church corporation will do Christianity for you.
Awww!  Such wonderful intentions that will destroy your walk.
Why disciple your kids when Big Brother Church will do it for you with their hi-tech youth program?  All you have to do is pay them because they're professionals who care more about your kids than you do.
Why feed the poor, when Big Brother Church will do it for you by working with Big Brother Govt (who has strings in which you cannot share the Gospel)?
Why visit the sick or prisoner when Big Brother Church will do it for you?  You have better things to do with your time, so just pay Big Brother and they will do it for you.
Why do Bible Study when Big Brother Church will do it for you?  Just pay for their books and workshops.
Why be the light of the world when you can pay someone to do it for you!
The corporation church turns people into passive cogs.
Church-ianity is like the publik skool system in that it dumbs people down to the lowest common denominator where they can repeat a few mantras and know very little of The Lord and how His Word applies to life.
Why do solid Christians hate The Big Mega Church-ianity Corporation and are disgusted with it?  Like a corporation that exists to make profits, so too, their services are geared to entertain and target newcomers to make more profits.  The worship services are not for worshippers but for evangelism in bringing more money givers in. Corporation churchianity sucks bc it does not know that worship is for believers and not unbelievers.  As a former worshipper singer, everything is fine-tuned and staged for THE PERFORMANCE: from jokes, announces. skits....  It's all to ENTERTAIN the masses - DISGUSTING!!!
Why do solid mature Bible-strong Christians leave the corporation church?  Because the corporation church is geared to conforming those within its corporation walls into its image of being a drone that supports the ministry of a pastor; it does not give meat but water-down milk Sunday after Sunday.  A real Christian can only stand so much of this crap!
The corporation church is an institution of emasculation in conforming men to the spiritual gift of setting up chairs, singing god is my boyfriends songs, and entertainment ministries.
The corporate church's back are women.  They out-number the men not just in numbers but in Bible studies and ministries (10-1).
People are controlled by moral manipulations (a works salvation) of guilt, shame and keeping rules.
People are encouraged to come to gatherings dressed neat, clean and perfect on the outside to show off how good and perfect they are.

This is COLLECTIVISM in the Church and it's disgusting!!!

Is it mandatory in Scripture to attend a weekly "church" service?  If so, it should be written.  Till then i say NO!
Please site the passage if you think I am in error. thanks.
The Sabbath was for the Jews under the Old Covenant only.
Christians do not have a Sabbath Day but a Sabbath Person, Christ.  Yeshua is the Sabbath rest of the church.

Is membership mandatory?
NO.  Membership is a means of control over believers.

Most evangelical worship services can be reduced to the following model or rituals:

*  4-5 God is my boyfriend rock songs (And this is what most Christians believe worship is. aiya!).

*  cute announcements sometimes with skits and movies.

*  hi five your neighbor

*  $$$ collection $$$  Some church leaderships make bank (look at the Roman Catholic leadership with all their pimp threads and gold; also TBN with their fat cars and mansions) but then again some don't.  Where is the money being spent reveals what a church deems important.

*  a prayer that usually starts with "Uhhhh...." and is so theologically incorrect, i.e., thanking God The Father for dying on the cross,

*  Sermon - sometimes video (like why isn't the worship video-ed in?  Is there a need for UNIFORMITY?)
Why are these sermons always geared for non-believers?
Isn't worship done by believers?  Aren't the lambs to be fed?  Well...?
Gospel Call: often theologically wrong, i.e., Bow your eyes and CLOSE your head (lol);  "God loves you and has a wonderful plan for you!"  -Hello, is it possible that the person that this is said to when he/she expires is separated from God?  Yep.   Aha!  Now, I wish they'd stop speaking lies about God in their evangelistic madison ave. marketing techniques of chalking up another decision for Christ.  .

*  closing prayer

*  once a month communion

Megachurch model:
Have pretty people as singers, greeters, leaders and the preacher/pastors.

Church- ekklesia- the called out ones, the assembly, congregation; the universal invisible church, takes on many FORMS.
It's FUNCTION is to worship God and spread His glory.

1.           A disciple FELLOWSHIPS regularly with other believers, displaying LOVE & UNITY.

2.           Ecc 4:9-12  Two are better than one, because they
have a good return for their work: 10 If one falls down, his friend can help
him up. But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up! Also, if two
lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? Though
one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is
not quickly broken.

3.           Hebrews 3:12-14  See to it, brothers, that none of you
has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God. 13But
encourage one another daily, as long as it is called Today, so that none of you
may be hardened by sin's deceitfulness. 14We have come to share in Christ
if we hold firmly till the end the confidence we had at first.

4.           Hebrews 10:25 not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.

5.           Pro 27:17 As iron sharpens iron, so one mansharpens another.

6.           1Thes5:11Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.

7.            Psalm 133:1  How good and pleasant it is when brothers live together in unity!

8.           A disciple gathers with other believers as THE CHURCH regularly to WORSHIP GOD, to have SPIRITUAL NEEDS met, and to make a CONTRIBUTION to the Body.  Church and worship are not limited to a building that one goes to. Christians should simply BE The Church 24/7 & live all of life to God’s glory.

9.           Matt 16:18 And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome
it.

10.       Act 2:47praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.

11.
Acts 5:42 And every day, in the temple and from house to house, they did not cease teaching andpreaching that the Christ is Jesus.

12.       Act 9:4 He fell to the ground and heard a voice say to him,"Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?"

13.       Act 20:28  Keep watch over yourselves and all theflock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers. Be shepherds of the
church of God, which he bought with his own blood.

14.       Rom 12:4  Just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.

15.       1Cor 3:9For we are God's fellow workers; you are God's field, God's building.

16.         1Cor 3:16  Don't you know that you yourselves are God's temple and that God's Spirit lives in you?  17If anyone destroys God's temple, God will destroy him; for God's temple is sacred, and you are that temple.

So, is it necessary/mandatory/obligatory for a saint to attend a "church" service?

Can Christians just BE the ekklesia, called out ones, congregation, assembly of believers without going to a physical building and just live organically?
