DIVINATION

1. Genesis 30:27  But Laban said to him, “If I have found favor in your eyes, please stay. I have learned by DIVINATION that the Lord has blessed me because of you.”

 

2. Genesis 44:5  Isn’t this the cup my master drinks from and also uses for DIVINATION? This is a wicked thing you have done.’”

 

3. Genesis 44:15  Joseph said to them, “What is this you have done? Don’t you know that a man like me can find things out by DIVINATION?”

 

4. Leviticus 19:26  “‘Do not eat any meat with the blood still in it. “‘Do not practice DIVINATION or seek OMENS.

 

5. Numbers 22:7  The elders of Moab and Midian left, taking with them the fee for DIVINATION. When they came to Balaam, they told him what Balak had said.

 

6. Numbers 23:23  There is no DIVINATION against Jacob, no evil OMENS against Israel. It will now be said of Jacob and of Israel, ‘See what God has done!’

 

7. Numbers 24:1  Now when Balaam saw that it pleased the Lord to bless Israel, he did not resort to DIVINATION as at other times, but turned his face toward the wilderness.

 

8. Deuteronomy 18:10  Let no one be found among you who sacrifices their son or daughter in the fire, who practices DIVINATION or sorcery, interprets OMENS, engages in WITCHCRAFT,

 

9. Deuteronomy 18:14  The nations you will dispossess listen to those who practice sorcery or DIVINATION. But as for you, the Lord your God has not permitted you to do so.

 

10. Joshua 13:22  In addition to those slain in battle, the Israelites had put to the sword Balaam son of Beor, who practiced DIVINATION.

 

11. 1 Samuel 15:23  For rebellion is like the sin of DIVINATION, and arrogance like the evil of idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the Lord, he has rejected you as king.”

 

12. 2 Kings 17:17  They sacrificed their sons and daughters in the fire. They practiced DIVINATION and sought OMENS and sold themselves to do evil in the eyes of the Lord, arousing his anger.

 

13. 2 Kings 21:6  He sacrificed his own son in the fire, practiced DIVINATION, sought OMENS, and consulted mediums and SPIRITISTS. He did much evil in the eyes of the Lord, arousing his anger.

 

14. 2 Chronicles 33:6  He sacrificed his children in the fire in the Valley of Ben Hinnom, practiced DIVINATION and WITCHCRAFT, sought OMENS, and consulted mediums and SPIRITISTS. He did much evil in the eyes of the Lord, arousing his anger.

 

15. Isaiah 2:6  You, Lord, have abandoned your people, the descendants of Jacob. They are full of superstitions from the East; they practice DIVINATION like the Philistines and embrace pagan customs.

 

16. Jeremiah 14:14  Then the Lord said to me, “The prophets are prophesying lies in my name. I have not sent them or appointed them or spoken to them. They are prophesying to you false visions, DIVINATIONS, idolatries and the delusions of their own minds.

 

17. Ezekiel 12:24  For there will be no more false visions or flattering DIVINATIONS among the people of Israel.

 

18. Ezekiel 13:6  Their visions are false and their DIVINATIONS a lie. Even though the Lord has not sent them, they say, “The Lord declares,” and expect him to fulfill their words.

 

19. Ezekiel 13:7  Have you not seen false visions and uttered lying DIVINATIONS when you say, “The Lord declares,” though I have not spoken?

 

20. Ezekiel 13:9  My hand will be against the prophets who see false visions and utter lying DIVINATIONS. They will not belong to the council of my people or be listed in the records of Israel, nor will they enter the land of Israel. Then you will know that I am the Sovereign Lord.

 

21. Ezekiel 13:23  therefore you will no longer see false visions or practice DIVINATION. I will save my people from your hands. And then you will know that I am the Lord.’”

 

22. Ezekiel 21:29  Despite false visions concerning you and lying DIVINATIONS about you, it will be laid on the necks of the wicked who are to be slain, whose day has come, whose time of punishment has reached its climax.

 

23. Ezekiel 22:28  Her prophets whitewash these deeds for them by false visions and lying DIVINATIONS. They say, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says’—when the Lord has not spoken.

 

24. Micah 3:6  Therefore night will come over you, without visions, and darkness, without DIVINATION. The sun will set for the prophets, and the day will go dark for them.

 

 

DIVINER

1.     Judges 9:37  But Gaal spoke up again: “Look, people are coming down from the central hill, and a company is coming from the direction of the DIVINERS’ tree.”

 

2.     1 Samuel 6:2  the Philistines called for the priests and the DIVINERS and said, “What shall we do with the ark of the Lord? Tell us how we should send it back to its place.”

 

3.     Isaiah 3:2  the hero and the warrior, the judge and the prophet, the DIVINER and the elder,

 

4.     Isaiah 44:25  who foils the signs of false prophets and makes fools of DIVINERS, who overthrows the learning of the wise and turns it into nonsense,

 

5.     Jeremiah 27:9  So do not listen to your prophets, your DIVINERS, your interpreters of dreams, your mediums or your sorcerers who tell you, ‘You will not serve the king of Babylon.’

 

6.     Jeremiah 29:8  Yes, this is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says: “Do not let the prophets and DIVINERS among you deceive you. Do not listen to the dreams you encourage them to have.

 

7.     Daniel 2:27 Daniel replied, “No wise man, enchanter, magician or DIVINER can explain to the king the mystery he has asked about,

 

8.     Daniel 4:7  When the magicians, enchanters, astrologers and DIVINERS came, I told them the dream, but they could not interpret it for me.

 

9.     Daniel 5:7  The king summoned the enchanters, astrologers and DIVINERS. Then he said to these wise men of Babylon, “Whoever reads this writing and tells me what it means will be clothed in purple and have a gold chain placed around his neck, and he will be made the third highest ruler in the kingdom.”

 

10. Daniel 5:11  There is a man in your kingdom who has the spirit of the holy gods in him. In the time of your father he was found to have insight and intelligence and wisdom like that of the gods. Your father, King Nebuchadnezzar, appointed him chief of the magicians, enchanters, astrologers and DIVINERS.

 

11. Hosea 4:12  My people consult a wooden idol, and a DIVINER’s rod speaks to them. A spirit of prostitution leads them astray; they are unfaithful to their God.

 

12. Micah 3:7  The seers will be ashamed and the DIVINERS disgraced. They will all cover their faces because there is no answer from God.”

 

13. Zechariah 10:2  The idols speak deceitfully, DIVINERS see visions that lie; they tell dreams that are false, they give comfort in vain. Therefore the people wander like sheep oppressed for lack of a shepherd.
