What does it mean to be FILLED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT?
Who could be filled with THE HOLY SPIRIT?
Who was THE HOLY SPIRIT promised and prophesied for?
Peter confirms Joel's prophecy of THE HOLY SPIRIT being poured out on ISRAEL, on THE DAY OF PENTECOST in THE LAST DAYS (30-70AD).
Being FILLED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT involved prophesy, dreams, visions, joy, miracles, knowledge, peace, speaking in tongues, healing, teaching, discerning spirits, boldly speaking God's Word, trust, power, courage...
Just for thinking students of the Bible, none of this happens after 70AD! It's been about 2000 years,
JOEL 2:27-32
Then you will know that I am in Israel,
that I am the Lord your God,
and that there is no other;
never again will my people be shamed.
28 “And afterward,
I will pour out my Spirit on all people.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy,
your old men will dream dreams,
your young men will see visions.
29 Even on my servants, both men and women,
I will pour out my Spirit in those days.
30 I will show wonders in the heavens
and on the earth,
blood and fire and billows of smoke.
31 The sun will be turned to darkness
and the moon to blood
before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord.
32 And everyone who calls
on the name of the Lord will be saved;
for on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem
there will be deliverance,
as the Lord has said,
even among the survivors
whom the Lord calls.
Notice how the v27 The Lord God says He is in ISRAEL. These passages are NOT for NON-Israelites. GOD IS SAVING HIS PEOPLE ISRAEL!

ACTS 2:14-24
14 Then Peter stood up with the Eleven, raised his voice and addressed the crowd: “Fellow Jews and all of you who live in Jerusalem, let me explain this to you; listen carefully to what I say. 15 These people are not drunk, as you suppose. It’s only nine in the morning! 16 No, this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel:
17 “‘IN THE LAST DAYS, God says,
I will pour out my Spirit on all people.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy,
your young men will see visions,
your old men will dream dreams.
18 Even on my servants, both men and women,
I will pour out my Spirit in those days,
and they will prophesy.
19 I will show wonders in the heavens above
and signs on the earth below,
blood and fire and billows of smoke.
20 The sun will be turned to darkness
and the moon to blood
before the coming of the great and glorious day of the Lord.
21 And everyone who calls
on the name of the Lord will be saved.’
22 “Fellow Israelites, listen to this: Jesus of Nazareth was a man accredited by God to you by miracles, wonders and signs, which God did among you through him, as you yourselves know. 23 This man was handed over to you by God’s deliberate plan and foreknowledge; and you, with the help of wicked men, put him to death by nailing him to the cross. 24 But God raised him from the dead, freeing him from the agony of death, because it was impossible for death to keep its hold on him.
***THE LAST DAYS were happening because the Apostle Peter SAID SO!!!!
LAST DAYS of what?
Last Days of Old Covenant Israel!!!
CHRIST said to His disciples that the temple would come down in their generation (30-70AD) and it did; Matthew 24:1-3, 34.
Jesus left the temple and was walking away when his disciples came up to him to call his attention to its buildings. 2 “Do you see all these things?” he asked. “Truly I tell you, not one stone here will be left on another; every one will be thrown down.”
3 As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately. “Tell us,” they said, “when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?”
34 Truly I tell you, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened.
That was THE COMING OF GREAT AND GLORIOUS DAY OF THE LORD in v20!
The Temple represented - God’s covenant with Israel - heaven and earth, the priesthood, sacrificial system, kingdom, THE LAW, worship....
Jerusalem's Temple got destroyed by God's servants, THE ROMAN ARMIES who Avenged THE CHRIST! It’s amazing how many students of the Bible are oblivious of Jerusalem’s destruction in 70AD because that finalized THE LAST DAYS COMING OF THE LORD!
The Son of Man Coming on the clouds of heaven took place in 70 A.D.
