Sun is said to be 93 million miles away and heats up earth where it’s hottest at the equator and coldest at the poles. It’s said to be about over million times bigger than earth and yet appears incredibly smaller than earth as it daily flies across earth’s plane.
Why such a change in temperature with just a small distance change from equator to North & South Poles which is just 6,215 miles compared to heat traveling from 93,000,000 miles away lol
Avg temp at equator is between 70°F and 86°F (21-30°C),
Avg temp at North Pole is around 32°F (0°C) in the summer and about -40°F (-40°C) in the winter, with the ocean's presence keeping it warmer than the South Pole.
The average annual temperature at the South Pole is around -56°F to -57°F (-49°C to -49.5°C), with average summer temperatures around -18°F and average winter temperatures plummeting to about -76°F.
Equator tops around 86 F
North Pole bottoms -40 F that’s 126 degrees over 6215 miles!
South Pole bottoms -56 F that’s 146 degrees over 6215 miles!
