Serpent & Staff is from Scripture. They were used to heal in the Bible and became the logo of medical organizations.

Numbers 21:6-9 

6 Then the Lord sent fiery serpents among the people and they bit the people, so that many people of Israel died. 7 So the people came to Moses and said, “We have sinned, because we have spoken against the Lord and against you; intercede with the Lord, that He will remove the serpents from us.” And Moses interceded for the people.

8 Then the Lord said to Moses,

“Make a fiery serpent, and put it on a flag pole; and it shall come about, that everyone who is bitten, and looks at it, will live.”

9 So Moses made a bronze serpent and put it on the flag pole; and it came about, that if a serpent bit someone, and he looked at the bronze serpent, he lived.

14 And just as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up, 15 so that everyone who believes will have eternal life in Him.

16 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish, but have eternal life.

The BIG QUESTIONs

Who was Christ lifted up FOR?

The same people of Moses aka Israel?

Who is the "world" in v16? Israel

Christ is speaking his words with a leader and teacher of Israel, Nicodemus and scolding him for not having understanding in being born again.

The only people in Scripture ALIVE & then DEAD to YHWH were Israel because they were the only ones YHWH gave His Covenantal LAW TO and they BROKE YHWH's LAW.

Therefore, only Israel needed to be BORN AGAIN according to the Bible story.

*Paul writing to scattered Israelite gentiles in Corinth, says their ancestors put Christ to the test and got killed by snakes! Good passage for the deity of Christ because in Numbers 21, it says that The LORD sent snakes upon the people to bite and kill them. In 1 Corinthians 10, Paul says their Israelite ancestors in the wilderness put Christ to the test and He sent snakes to kill them! This supports Yeshua is God and supports Trinity.

Now let’s read the verse in broader context to demonstrate Paul is not writing to 100% pagan heathens, but scattered Israelites because the Bible is an Israel only story that ended in 70AD at the culmination of the ages!

Did pagan Corinthians pass through the Red Sea with Moses? Were the pagan Corinthians baptized into Moses? Were the pagan Corinthians in the wilderness eating spiritual food and drink; mana and water from the rock of Christ with the Israelites? You should answer, “NO” to all these questions! It would be absurd to think the pagan Corinthians were ancestors with the Israelites.

You need to know the backstory of why Israelites were in Corinth! It’s in the OT when God scattered them into the nations for punishment. God also promised to regather them by calling them out in THE LATTER DAYS! The word, “church” is a substitution and NOT a translation of the greek word, “ekklesia,” which means the called out: ones or assembly or congregation of God or The Lord. Scripture teaches in OT that God would regather Israel. Thus, we have the urgency of the gospel in the last days (30-70AD) and not 2000 years!

Those in the 1st century were in THE CULMINATION OF THE AGES! It doesn’t mean 2000+ years from then. Lol
