CONTEXT DETERMINES WHO THE WORLD IS!
Greek for earth, world, age: Cosmos, Oikoumene, Aeon, Ge
- Meaning: Order, arrangement, ornament, or the universe.
- Nuance: Originally, the Greeks used this word to describe an orderly, harmonious system. It emphasizes the universe as a beautiful, structured whole rather than a chaotic void. In theological contexts, it frequently refers to human society, the world system, or the totality of creation.
- Meaning: The inhabited world, or the dwelling place.
- Nuance: Derived from the verb oikeo (to dwell), this term specifically focuses on the portions of the earth inhabited by humans. In ancient times, it usually referred to the civilized, populated world (e.g., the Roman Empire).
- Meaning: Earth, land, soil, or ground.
- Nuance: This is the most literal and physical of the four terms. It refers to the physical planet itself, the dry land, or a specific region and its soil, as opposed to the sea or the heavens.
- Meaning: An age, era, epoch, or lifetime.
- Nuance: Unlike the other three terms which deal with physical space, Aion deals with time. It describes a specific, bounded period or dispensation of history (e.g., "this present age" versus "the age to come").
What was the Bible writers and audience notion, understanding and concept of the idea of WORLD? Was it the ridiculous fake globe planet model that some many brainwashed folk believe today? Were they even aware of North & South America? Did they limit World to the covenant nation/ people; Was it the Roman world or known world? Was it an age as aeon???

John Testifies About Jesus

**According to Scripture, what world had the ability to biblically sin? Only The Covenant world of Israel that was under the law of YHWH, broke the Law and became biblical sinners.

**Who is the world that God loves in this passage? The covenant world of Israel.

They said to the woman, “We no longer believe just because of what you said; now we have heard for ourselves, and we know that this man really is the Savior of the WORLD.”
**What world needed saving? The law breaking covenant world of Israel.
So the Pharisees said to one another, “See, this is getting us nowhere. Look how the WHOLE WORLD has gone after him!”
**Does this “whole world” going after Jesus include the unbelieving Jews/ Israelites, Pharisees, Sadducees, Romans, Samoans, Mexicans? Nope. It’s hyperbole for the numerous believing Israelites following after Christ.
The WORLD Hates the Disciples
“If the WORLD hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first.
**What world hates the disciples? The evil leaders of the covenant world of Israel.
If you belonged to the WORLD, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the WORLD, but I have chosen you out of the WORLD. That is why the WORLD hates you.
**The world again is the unfaithful covenant world of Israel.
Acts 11:28
And one of them named Agabus stood up and foretold by the Spirit that there would be a great famine over all the WORLD (this took place in the days of Claudius).
**Was there famine in North and South America along with Australia, Korea, Samoa??? Scripture just using hyperbole again for famine to the known world.

**Were Paul and his homies causing trouble all over the world in Canada? USA? Mexico? Brazil? - Again, it’s just hyperbole speaking of the local region/ known world. It’s like saying, “Levi Stadium was so packed, the whole world was there.”
The whole world literally was not there, just hyperbole, exaggeration.
The city clerk quieted the crowd and said: “Fellow Ephesians, doesn’t ALL THE WORLD KNOW that the city of Ephesus is the guardian of the temple of the great Artemis and of her image, which fell from heaven?
**Were Filipinos, Thai, Eskimos, Hawaiians in the know about Artemis? Nope. Just hyperbole again.

**Was Paul stirring up trouble among Jews ALL OVER THE WORLD in China, Central America, Ireland?? No, just hyperbole again for the local area/ known world.
Paul’s Longing to Visit Rome
First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of you, because your faith is being reported ALL OVER THE WORLD.
**Was the Church in Rome’s faith being reported in Cambodia, Scotland, Germany, Venezuela, Tonga??? No, it’s just hyperbole and speaking of the known world where the epistles were being circulated.

Now we know that whatever the law says, it says TO THOSE WHO ARE UNDER THE LAW, so that every mouth may be silenced and the WHOLE WORLD held accountable to God.
**Who was under the law? Only Covenant Israel. Israel is THE WHOLE WORLD in context and accountable to their God, YHWH!

**What WORLD in its present form was passing away when Paul wrote this? The Old Covenant World of Israel.
the faith and love that spring from the hope stored up for you in heaven and about which you have already heard in the true message of the gospel 6 that has come to you. In the same way, the gospel is bearing fruit and growing throughout the WHOLE WORLD—just as it has been doing among you since the day you heard it and truly understood God’s grace.
**Paul says the Gospel is bearing fruit and growing throughout the WHOLE WORLD. Did it reach the North Pole? Russia? Korea? Again, just hyperbole. The Gospel Great Commission was given to the Apostles & Disciples filled with The Holy Spirit and they succeeded in fulfilling their mission by 70AD.
My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have an advocate with the Father—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. 2 He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the WHOLE WORLD.
**John is addressing 1st century believers in Christ. He encourages them that Christ atones for their sins and ALSO for those of the whole covenant world.
