Good FRIDAY aka Holy FRIDAY is NOT in the Bible!!! Was Christ even Crucified on a FRIDAY? How do you get 3days 3nights from FRIDAY to Sunday?

Matthew 12:38-45

38 Then some of the Pharisees and teachers of the law said to him, “Teacher, we want to see a sign from you.”

39 He answered, A wicked and adulterous generation asks for a sign! But none will be given it except the sign of the prophet Jonah. 40 For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of a huge fish, so the Son of Man will be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. 41 The men of Nineveh will stand up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it; for they repented at the preaching of Jonah, and now something greater than Jonah is here. 42 The Queen of the South will rise at the judgment with this generation and condemn it; for she came from the ends of the earth to listen to Solomon’s wisdom, and now something greater than Solomon is here.

43 “When an impure spirit comes out of a person, it goes through arid places seeking rest and does not find it. 44 Then it says, ‘I will return to the house I left.’ When it arrives, it finds the house unoccupied, swept clean and put in order. 45 Then it goes and takes with it seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and live there. And the final condition of that person is worse than the first. That is how it will be with this wicked generation.

This Wicked Generation was 40 years (30-70AD). The Great Tribulation fell on that generation, because no other generation had the sinless son of God, Lord of Life, Prince of Peace, in their midst and murdered Him!!!

John 2:19
Jesus answered them, “Destroy this temple, and I will raise it again in three days.”

Mark 8:31
He then began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders, the chief priests and the teachers of the law, and that he must be killed and after three days rise again.

Luke 24:46
He told them, “This is what is written: The Messiah will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day,

MUST WATCH

The Sabbath was a HIGH DAY

Therefore when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And He bowed His head and gave up His spirit.

31 Now then, since it was the day of preparation, to prevent the bodies from remaining on the cross on the Sabbath ([a]for that Sabbath was a high day), the Jews requested of Pilate that their legs be broken, and the bodies be taken away. 32 So the soldiers came and broke the legs of the first man, and of the other who was crucified with Him;

Luke 22:13-15, Mark 14:26, 39-41, Mark 14:53, Mark 15:1, 15:25, 15:33-34, 15:37, John 19:31, Mark 15:42-47, Mark 16:1, Luke 23:56, Luke 24:1, Luke 24:2-3,

Luke 22:13-15

13 And they left and found everything just as He had told them; and they prepared the Passover.

14 When the hour came, He reclined at the table, and the apostles with Him. 15 And He said to them, “I have eagerly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer;

Mark 14:26
26 And after singing a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.

Mark 14:39-41
39 And again He went away and prayed, saying the same words. 40 And again He came and found them sleeping, for their eyes were heavy; and they did not know what to say in reply to Him. 41 And He *came the third time, and *said to them, “Are you still sleeping and resting? That is enough. The hour has come; behold, the Son of Man is being betrayed into the hands of sinners.

Mark 14:53
53 They led Jesus away to the high priest; and all the chief priests, the elders, and the scribes *gathered together.

Mark 15:1
Early in the morning the chief priests with the elders, scribes, and the entire Council immediately held a consultation; and they bound Jesus and led Him away, and turned Him over to Pilate.

Mark 15:25
25 Now it was the third hour when they crucified Him.

Mark 15:33-34
33 When the sixth hour came, darkness fell over the whole land until the ninth hour. 34 At the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, EloiEloilema sabaktanei?” which is translated, My GodMy Godwhy have You forsaken Me?”

Mark 15:37
37 But Jesus let out a loud cry, and died.

John 19:31
31 Now then, since it was the day of preparation, to prevent the bodies from remaining on the cross on the Sabbath (for that Sabbath was a high day), the Jews requested of Pilate that their legs be broken, and the bodies be taken away.

Mark 15:42-47
42 When evening had already come, since it was the preparation day, that is, the day before the Sabbath,43 Joseph of Arimathea came, a prominent member of the Council, who was himself also waiting for the kingdom of God; and he gathered up courage and went in before Pilate, and asked for the body of Jesus. 44 Now Pilate wondered if He was dead by this time, and summoning the centurion, he questioned him as to whether He was already dead.45 And after learning this from the centurion, he granted the body to Joseph. 46 Joseph bought a linen cloth, took Him down, wrapped Him in the linen cloth, and laid Him in a tomb which had been cut out in the rock; and he rolled a stone against the entrance of the tomb. 47 Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of Joses were watching to see where He was laid.

Mark 16:1
When the Sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices so that they might come and anoint Him.

Luke 23:56
56 And then they returned and prepared spices and perfumes.
And on the Sabbath they rested according to the commandment.

Luke 24:1
1But on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they came to the tomb bringing the spices which they had prepared.

Luke 24:2-3
And they found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus.

EXCELLENT VIDEO MUST WATCH!!!
https://youtu.be/wX74uXL2t_0?si=bhjpBB1x760k0A4g

This video, presented by John Harris of Living Waters Europe, addresses a common question among Christians: How can Jesus have been in the tomb for 'three days and three nights' if He was crucified on a Friday and rose on a Sunday? Harris argues that the traditional 'Good Friday' timeline creates a discrepancy and explores a biblical alternative.

Key Points:

  • The Challenge of the Sign: Harris notes that Jesus explicitly promised the 'sign of the prophet Jonah'—being in the heart of the earth for three days and three nights (1:39 - 2:05).
  • The Jewish Calendar and 'High Days': The explanation hinges on the fact that Jewish feasts, such as the Feast of Unleavened Bread, contain 'high days' (sabbaths) that do not always fall on a Saturday (6:18 - 8:53).
  • Two Sabbaths: Harris proposes that the week of the crucifixion contained two sabbaths: the high day (the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread) and the weekly Saturday sabbath (7:28 - 7:3815:58 - 16:16).
  • The Proposed Timeline: By counting backwards from the resurrection on Sunday (the first day of the week), Harris concludes that Jesus must have been crucified on a Wednesday (17:45 - 18:06). This allows for a full 72-hour period in the tomb, satisfying the prophecy of 'three days and three nights.'
  • Fulfillment of Feasts: The video connects these events to various Jewish festivals, suggesting that Jesus fulfilled each one perfectly:
    • Passover: Jesus died as the Passover lamb (18:0018:03).
    • First Fruits: Jesus' resurrection on the Sunday following the sabbath corresponds to the Feast of First Fruits (19:15 - 19:46).

Harris concludes that understanding the difference between the high days and the weekly sabbath resolves the confusion, affirming the literal fulfillment of Jesus' words.

ANOTHER EXCELLENT VIDEO DEMONSTRATING CHRIST NOT CRUCIFIED ON A FRIDAY!

This video challenges the traditional belief that Jesus Christ was crucified on a Friday, arguing instead that a Wednesday crucifixion aligns with the biblical prophecy that he would spend "three days and three nights" in the heart of the earth (1:13-1:58, 18:26-18:35).

Key arguments presented:

  • Biblical Chronology: The speaker asserts that "three days and three nights" (Matthew 12:40) requires a literal 72-hour period, which is not achieved by a Friday crucifixion and Sunday morning resurrection (1:58-2:136:33-7:13).
  • The Jewish Definition of a Day: The video explains that according to the Bible (Genesis 1:5), a Jewish day begins at sunset (6:00 p.m.) and concludes at the next sunset, rather than the Gentile midnight-to-midnight cycle (4:18-5:51).
  • The Meaning of 'Sabbath': The speaker argues that the "Sabbath" mentioned in the context of the crucifixion (Mark 15:42) was not necessarily a Saturday, but a "high day"—a special feast day requiring rest (11:21-12:0316:06-16:48).
  • Wednesday Timeline: By counting back from the resurrection on Sunday (the first day of the week), the speaker concludes Jesus was crucified on a Wednesday, buried that evening, and remained in the tomb for three days and three nights, rising at the end of the Sabbath (18:12-18:4819:44-20:16).

The video concludes by detailing the sequence of events from the Passover meal on Wednesday evening through the trial and crucifixion on Thursday, culminating in the burial before the Sabbath (21:06-25:50, 28:54-29:51).

The Lord said to Moses and Aaron in Egypt,
