God called the light “DAY,” and the darkness he called “night.” And there was EVENING, and there was MORNING—the first DAY.
God called the vault “sky.” And there was EVENING, and there was MORNING—the second DAY.
And there was EVENING, and there was MORNING—the third DAY.
And there was EVENING, and there was MORNING—the fourth DAY.
And there was EVENING, and there was MORNING—the fifth DAY.
God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was EVENING, and there was MORNING—the sixth DAY.
The next DAY Moses took his seat to serve as judge for the people, and they stood around him from MORNING till EVENING.
“This is the offering Aaron and his sons are to bring to the Lord on the DAY he is anointed: a tenth of an ephah of the finest flour as a regular grain offering, half of it in the MORNING and half in the EVENING.
The Cloud Above the Tabernacle
On the DAY the tabernacle, the tent of the covenant law, was set up, the cloud covered it. From EVENING till MORNING the cloud above the tabernacle looked like fire.
Sometimes the cloud stayed only from EVENING till MORNING, and when it lifted in the MORNING, they set out. Whether by DAY or by night, whenever the cloud lifted, they set out.
Let no yeast be found in your possession in all your land for seven DAYS. Do not let any of the meat you sacrifice on the EVENING of the first DAY remain until MORNING.
Then when the man, with his concubine and his servant, got up to leave, his father-in-law, the woman’s father, said, “Now look, it’s almost EVENING. Spend the night here; the DAY is nearly over. Stay and enjoy yourself. Early tomorrow MORNING you can get up and be on your way home.”
For forty DAYS the Philistine came forward every MORNING and EVENING and took his stand.
They arranged to meet Paul on a certain DAY, and came in even larger numbers to the place where he was staying. He witnessed to them from MORNING till EVENING, explaining about the kingdom of God, and from the Law of Moses and from the Prophets he tried to persuade them about Jesus.
