Abraham’s SEED/ DESCENDANTS were BIOLOGICAL

Abraham’s SEED/ DESCENDANTS were BIOLOGICAL

Acts 26:6-8

And now it is because of my hope in what God has promised our ancestors that I am on trial today. This is the promise our twelve tribes are hoping to see fulfilled as they earnestly serve God day and night. King Agrippa, it is because of this hope that these Jews are accusing me. Why should any of you consider it incredible that God raises the dead?

Who were those proven to be IF they had the Faith?

A: Abraham's seed (Rom 4:13) (Gal 3:7)

Rom 4:13  It was not through the law that Abraham and his offspring received the promise that he would be heir of the world, but through the righteousness that comes by faith.

Gal 3:7 Understand, then, that those who have faith are children of Abraham.

Who was someone if they belonged to Christ?

A: Abraham's seed.....according to the promise (Gal 3:29)

Gal 3:29.  If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.

Abraham is promised the nations would be blessed in him (Gen 18:18, Gal 3:8)

Gen 18:18  seeing that Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him?

Gal 3:8 And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel beforehand to Abraham, saying, “In you shall all the nations be blessed.”

Paul picks up on the theme of Isaac in his day as applying to those coming in (Rom 9:7, Gal 4:28, Heb 11:18). This would make no sense if not biological

Rom 9:7  and not all are children of Abraham because they are his offspring, but “Through Isaac shall your offspring be named.”

Gal 4:28 Now you, brothers, like Isaac, are children of promise.

Heb 11:18  of whom it was said, “Through Isaac shall your offspring be named.”

Paul writes a letter to Rome (1:7) which is to gentiles (11:13), saying they are biological descendants of Abraham according to the flesh (4:1) through Sarah's womb (4:19).

Romans 1:7 To all those in Rome who are loved by God and called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Rom 11:13 Now I am speaking to you Gentiles. Inasmuch then as I am an apostle to the Gentiles I magnify my ministry

Rom 4:1 What then shall we say was gained by Abraham, our forefather according to the flesh?

Rom 4:19  He did not weaken in faith when he considered his own body, which was as good as dead (since he was about a hundred years old), or when he considered the barrenness of Sarah's womb.

Paul declares Abraham is the one man from whom "every nation" came from by quoting Deuteronomy 32:8 (Acts 17:26) thus declaring Genesis 17:5 was fulfilled in his day. Paul only wrote about Abraham's promise to reenforce this point (Rom 4:16-19) and not some other man.

Deuteronomy 32:8  When the Most High gave to the nations their inheritance, when he divided mankind, he fixed the borders of the peoples according to the number of the sons of God.

Acts 17:26 And he made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined allotted periods and the boundaries of their dwelling place,

Genesis 17:5  No longer shall your name be called Abram, but your name shall be Abraham, for I have made you the father of a multitude of nations.

Rom 4:16-19 That is why it depends on faith, in order that the promise may rest on grace and be guaranteed to all his offspring—not only to the adherent of the law but also to the one who shares the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all, 17 as it is written, “I have made you the father of many nations”—in the presence of the God in whom he believed, who gives life to the dead and calls into existence the things that do not exist. 18 In hope he believed against hope, that he should become the father of many nations, as he had been told, “So shall your offspring be.” 19 He did not weaken in faith when he considered his own body, which was as good as dead (since he was about a hundred years old), or when he considered the barrenness of Sarah's womb.

Paul teaches in the grafting in of gentiles into covenant Israel "all Israel" (Rom 11:25-27) will be saved through the NC.

Rom 11:25-27  Lest you be wise in your own sight, I do not want you to be unaware of this mystery, brothers: a partial hardening has come upon Israel, until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in. 26 And in this way all Israel will be saved, as it is written, “The Deliverer will come from Zion, he will banish ungodliness from Jacob”; 27 “and this will be my covenant with them when I take away their sins.”

Abraham and his descendants were promised to be heirs of the kosmos/world (Rom 4:13).

Rom 4:13 For the promise to Abraham and his offspring that he would be heir of the world did not come through the law but through the righteousness of faith.

Israel is a biological name. Descendant is a biological term. Abraham as a father is biological. Sarah as a mother is biological (Rom 4:19, Heb 11:11-12, 1 Peter 3:6). "In Isaac your descendants shall be called" is biological.

Rom 4:19 He did not weaken in faith when he considered his own body, which was as good as dead (since he was about a hundred years old), or when he considered the barrenness of Sarah's womb.

Heb 11:11-12 conceive, even when she was past the age, since she considered him faithful who had promised. 12 Therefore from one man, and him as good as dead, were born descendants as many as the stars of heaven and as many as the innumerable grains of sand by the seashore.

1 Peter 3:6  as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord. And you are her children, if you do good and do not fear anything that is frightening.

No where in scripture are non-Israelites promised covenants or resurrection.
