Luke 1:32-33
32 He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. And the Lord God will give to him THE THRONE OF HIS FATHER DAVID, 33 AND HE WILL REIGN OVER THE HOUSE OF JACOB FOREVER, AND OF HIS KINGDOM THERE WILL BE NO END.”
**Reign over the house of Jacob and not Mexico, Samoa, Korea…
But his citizens hated him and sent a delegation after him, saying, ‘WE DO NOT WANT THIS MAN TO REIGN OVER US.’
**Christ gave a parable of servants not wanting to be reigned by their King. He was speaking of unfaithful Israel.
But As For These Enemies Of Mine, Who Did Not Want Me To Reign Over Them, Bring Them Here And Slaughter Them Before Me.’”
**Christ gives parable of enemies refusing the reign of the King and they get the justice they rightfully deserve for their treason!
1 Corinthians 15:20-28
But in fact Christ has been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. 21 For as by a man came death, by a man has come also the resurrection of the dead. 22 For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive. 23 But each in his own order: Christ the firstfruits, then at his coming those who belong to Christ. 24 TO GOD THE FATHER AFTER DESTROYING EVERY RULE AND EVERY AUTHORITY AND POWER. 25 FOR HE MUST REIGN UNTIL HE HAS PUT ALL HIS ENEMIES UNDER HIS FEET. 26 The last enemy to be destroyed is death. 27 For “God has put all things in subjection under his feet.” But when it says, “all things are put in subjection,” it is plain that he is excepted who put all things in subjection under him. 28 When all things are subjected to him, then the Son himself will also be subjected to him who put all things in subjection under him, that God may be all in all.
**Christ destroys All enemies: rule, authority, power with Death last. The old covenant was also known as the ministry of death along with its rule, authority and power over God’s People Israel.
**Paul states Christ destroyed Death, past-tense. Was he talking about physical death? In 2COR3:7 Paul calls the old covenant law the ministry of DEATH.
2 Timothy 2:11-13
The saying is trustworthy, for:
If we have died with him, we will also live with him;
12 IF WE ENDURE, WE WILL ALSO REIGN WITH HIM;
if we deny him, he also will deny us;
13 if we are faithless, he remains faithful—
for he cannot deny himself.
**Believers reigned with Christ in exercising rule, authority, power in proclaiming The Gospel.
Revelation 5:10
AND YOU HAVE MADE THEM A KINGDOM AND PRIESTS TO OUR GOD, AND THEY SHALL REIGN ON THE EARTH.”
**Believers reigned with Christ as ministers exercising rule, authority, power in proclaiming The Gospel.
Revelation 11:15-19
15 Then the seventh angel blew his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven, saying, “THE KINGDOM OF THE WORLD HAS BECOME THE KINGDOM OF OUR LORD AND OF HIS CHRIST, AND HE SHALL REIGN FOREVER AND EVER.” 16 AND THE TWENTY-FOUR ELDERS WHO SIT ON THEIR THRONES BEFORE GOD FELL ON THEIR FACES AND WORSHIPED GOD, 17 SAYING,
“WE GIVE THANKS TO YOU, LORD GOD ALMIGHTY, WHO IS AND WHO WAS,
FOR YOU HAVE TAKEN YOUR GREAT POWER AND BEGUN TO REIGN.
18 The nations raged, but your wrath came, and the time for the dead to be judged, and for REWARDING YOUR SERVANTS, the prophets and saints, and those who fear your name, both small and great, and for destroying the destroyers of the earth.”
19 Then God's temple in heaven was opened, and the ark of his covenant was seen within his temple. There were flashes of lightning, rumblings, peals of thunder, an earthquake, and heavy hail.
**Christ begun reigning through His Believers in exercising rule, authority, power in proclaiming The Gospel.
Revelation 19:6
The Marriage Supper of the Lamb
Then I heard what seemed to be the voice of a great multitude, like the roar of many waters and like the sound of mighty peals of thunder, crying out, “HALLELUJAH! FOR THE LORD OUR GOD THE ALMIGHTY REIGNS.
**The reign of Christ was in effect!
Revelation 20:4
Then I saw thrones, and seated on them were those to whom the authority to judge was committed. Also I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for the testimony of Jesus and for the word of God, and those who had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands. THEY CAME TO LIFE AND REIGNED WITH CHRIST FOR A THOUSAND YEARS.
Revelation 20:6
Blessed and holy is the one who shares in the first resurrection! Over such the second death has no power, but they will be priests of God and of Christ, AND THEY WILL REIGN WITH HIM FOR A THOUSAND YEARS.
Revelation 22:5 And night will be no more. They will need no light of lamp or sun, for the Lord God will be their light, AND THEY WILL REIGN FOREVER AND EVER.
**The Gospel went out to Israel in the last days 30-70AD which was also the 1000 years (the millennium) symbolic for completion of the good news Great Commission of saving the elect remnant, lost sheep of the house of Israel. Those in Christ came alive in Christ during this period.
Matthew 19:28
Jesus said to them, “Truly I tell you, at the renewal of all things, when the Son of Man sits on his glorious throne, you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones,
Luke 22:30
so that you may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom and sit on thrones, JUDGING THE TWELVE TRIBES OF ISRAEL.
**The renewal of all things was the restoring Israel into a new covenant from out of the covenant of death The Apostles were GOD’s servants laying out the gospel law and judgment upon Israel’s.
Acts 1:6 Then they gathered around him and asked him, “Lord, are you at this time going to RESTORE THE KINGDOM TO ISRAEL?”
**God’s Kingdom to Israel was in the process of being restored.
