Atrahasis: This Flood Story PREDATES Noah's Ark! [Animated]
If Noah’s flood was GLOBE WIDE and God SLAUGHTERED everyone but 8 people, how long did it take Noah and his wife along with his 3 sons and their wives to repopulate the GLOBE to where you have people all over the face of the “earth” (better to be translated “land”) with one language??? Well, it took just 2 chapters bc in Genesis 11 you have a city named Babel giving YHWH the middle finger that they would build their Babel skyscraper to heaven. LOL
Gen 11:1-10
Now the whole world had one language and a common speech. 2 As people moved eastward, they found a plain in Shinar and settled there.
3 They said to each other, “Come, let’s make bricks and bake them thoroughly.” They used brick instead of stone, and tar for mortar.4 Then they said, “Come, let us build ourselves a city, with a tower that reaches to the heavens, so that we may make a name for ourselves; otherwise we will be scattered over the face of the whole earth.”
5 But the Lord came down to see the city and the tower the people were building. 6 The Lord said, “If as one people speaking the same language they have begun to do this, then nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them. 7Come, let Us go down and there confuse their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech.” 8 So the Lord scattered them abroad from there over the face of all the earth, and they ceased building the city. 9 Therefore its name is called Babel, because there the Lord confused the language of all the earth; and from there the Lord scattered them abroad over the face of all the earth.
***Well, looks like God after all is THE GOD OF CONFUSION, at least in this context. LOL
The word for earth/ world is eretz and can also be translated LAND which makes more sense.
Gen 11:10 This is the genealogy of Shem: Shem was one hundred years old, and begot Arphaxad two years after the flood.
***Shem has a boy 2 years after the flood.
So, how does the whole earth (LAND is a better translation) come to build the BABEL SKYSCRAPER in 9 verses of Genesis chapter 11? Then it says one of Noah's sons, Shem has a son 2 years after the flood? Ok, so there's 8 people on the ark and 8 people come off the ark.
1 Peter 3:19-21
19 After being made alive, he went and made proclamation to the imprisoned spirits— 20 to those who were disobedient long ago when God waited patiently in the days of Noah while the ark was being built. Genesis 10 gives Noah's genealogy up to that point after the flood equating to 70 people? Uh, where are all the laborers for the skyscraper!!!!????
