NASA Astronaut says they destroyed the technology to goto the moon and it’s too painful a process to build it back again.

The Wright brothers first flew an airplane in 1903. And because they did NOT "destroy" the technology they used to do it ..they repeated the feat... 30 years later every country in the world has airplanes...60 years later airplanes could break the speed of sound..
