Scripture teaches that Judas Iscariot was ordained to betray Christ

John 13:18 

¹⁸ “I do not speak concerning all of you. I know whom I have chosen; but THAT THE SCRIPTURE MAY BE FULFILLED, ‘HE WHO EATS BREAD WITH ME HAS LIFTED UP HIS HEEL AGAINST ME.’

Psalm 41:9 

⁹ EVEN MY OWN FAMILIAR FRIENDin whom I trusted, Who ate my bread, HAS LIFTED UP HIS HEEL AGAINST ME.

**Judas was prophesied to betray Christ.

Acts 1:16-20  

¹⁶ “Men and brethren,THIS SCRIPTURE HAD TO BE FULFILLED, which the Holy Spirit spoke before by the mouth of David concerning JUDAS, who became a guide to those who arrested Jesus; ¹⁷ for he was numbered with us and obtained a part in this ministry.”

Luke 17:1 

Then He said to the disciples, “It is impossible that no offenses should come, but WOE TO HIM THROUGH WHOM THEY DO COME!

Luke 22:3 

 Then SATAN ENTERED JUDAS, surnamed Iscariot, who was numbered among the twelve. 

John 6:64  

⁶⁴ But there are some of you who do not believe.” For JESUS KNEW FROM THE BEGINNING WHO THEY WERE WHO DID NOT BELIEVE, AND WHO WOULD BETRAY HIM. 

**Judas did not believe and would betray Christ.

John 6:70-71  

⁷⁰ Jesus answered them, “Did I not choose you, the twelve, and ONE OF YOU IS A DEVIL?” ⁷¹ He spoke of JUDAS ISCARIOT, the son of Simon, for IT WAS HE WHO WOULD BETRAY HIM,being one of the twelve.

**Judas was a devil who would betray Christ.

 

John 13:2 

² And supper being ended, THE DEVIL HAVING ALREADY PUT IT INTO THE HEART OF JUDAS ISCARIOT,Simon’s son, TO BETRAY HIM,

**Judas betrays Christ

 

 

John 13:10-11 

¹⁰ Jesus said to him, “He who is bathed needs only to wash his feet, but is completely clean; and you are clean, BUT NOT ALL OF YOU.” ¹¹ For HE KNEW WHO WOULD BETRAY HIM; therefore He said, “YOU ARE NOT ALL CLEAN.”

**Judas would betray Christ and was not clean.

John 17:9-12 

⁹ “I pray for them. I do not pray for the world but for those whom You have given Me, for they are Yours. ¹⁰ And all Mine are Yours, and Yours are Mine, and I am glorified in them. ¹¹ Now I am no longer in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to You. Holy Father, keep through Your name those whom You have given Me, that they may be one as We are. ¹² While I was with them in the world, I kept them in Your name. THOSE WHOM YOU GAVE ME I HAVE KEPT;and NONE OF THEM IS LOST EXCEPT THE SON OF PERDITION, THAT THE SCRIPTURE MIGHT BE FULFILLED.

**The word “perdition” means utter destruction, loss, damnation, punishment of the sinful.  Again, Christ loses none of whom The Father had given Him except for the son of perdition, Judas Iscariot.

 

John 6:39 

³⁹ This is the will of the Father who sent Me, that of all He has given ME I SHOULD LOSE NOTHING,but should raise it up at the last day.

**Christ loses none of whom The Father gave Him.

John 18:9 

⁹ that the saying might be fulfilled which He spoke, “Of those whom You gave Me I have lost none.”

**Christ loses none of whom The Father gave Him, which means NOT ALL are given to Christ.
