Deuteronomy 18:15-22   “THE LORD YOUR GOD WILL RAISE UP FOR YOU A PROPHET LIKE ME FROM AMONG YOU, FROM YOUR BROTHERS—IT IS TO HIM YOU SHALL LISTEN— ¹⁶ just as you desired of the Lord your God at Horeb on the day of the assembly, when you said, ‘Let me not hear again the voice of the Lord my God or see this great fire any more, lest I die.’¹⁷ And the Lord said to me, ‘They are right in what they have spoken. ¹⁸ I WILL RAISE UP FOR THEM A PROPHET LIKE YOU FROM AMONG THEIR BROTHERS. AND I WILL PUT MY WORDS IN HIS MOUTH, AND HE SHALL SPEAK TO THEM ALL THAT I COMMAND HIM. ¹⁹ AND WHOEVER WILL NOT LISTEN TO MY WORDS THAT HE SHALL SPEAK IN MY NAME, I MYSELF WILL REQUIRE IT OF HIM. ²⁰ But the prophet who presumes to speak a word in my name that I have not commanded him to speak, or who speaks in the name of other gods, that same prophet shall die.’ ²¹ And if you say in your heart, ‘How may we know the word that the Lord has not spoken?’— ²² when a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord, if the word does not come to pass or come true, that is a word that the Lord has not spoken; the prophet has spoken it presumptuously. You need not be afraid of him.

Acts 3:22-24   Moses said, ‘The Lord God will raise up for you a prophet like me from your brothers. You shall listen to him in whatever he tells you. ²³ And it shall be that EVERY SOUL WHO DOES NOT LISTEN TO THAT PROPHET SHALL BE DESTROYED FROM THE PEOPLE.’²⁴ And all the prophets who have spoken, from Samuel and those who came after him, also PROCLAIMED THESE DAYS.

Acts 7:37  This is the Moses who said to the Israelites, ‘GOD WILL RAISE UP FOR YOU A PROPHET LIKE ME FROM YOUR BROTHERS.’

Who are “the people” in this context?  The Jews

Which “these days?”  The days in the 1^ST century as Luke penned.  Since “that prophet” being spoken of was Christ and the apostate Jews didn’t listen to Him, when were they destroyed.  Christ said when Jerusalem would be surrounded by armies run to the hills because if one doesn’t, one would be destroyed and they were in 70AD.   

Luke 24:44  Now He said to them, “These are My words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that ALL THINGS WHICH ARE WRITTEN ABOUT ME IN THE LAW OF MOSES AND THE PROPHETS AND THE PSALMS MUST BE FULFILLED.”

John 1:45  Philip *found Nathanael and *said to him, “WE HAVE FOUND HIM OF WHOM MOSES IN THE LAW AND ALSO THE PROPHETS WROTE—Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.”

The New Testament confirms Yeshua to be The Prophet

Luke 21:20-24  “But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know that ITS DESOLATION has come near. ²¹ Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains, and let those who are inside the city depart, and let not those who are out in the country enter it, ²² FOR THESE ARE DAYS OF VENGEANCE, TO FULFILL ALL THAT IS WRITTEN. ²³ Alas for women who are pregnant and for those who are nursing infants in those days! For there will be great distress upon the earth and WRATH AGAINST THIS PEOPLE. ²⁴ THEY WILL FALL BY THE EDGE OF THE SWORD AND BE LED CAPTIVE AMONG ALL NATIONS, AND JERUSALEM WILL BE TRAMPLED UNDERFOOT BY THE GENTILES, UNTIL THE TIMES OF THE GENTILES ARE FULFILLED.

The apostate Jews not only did not listen to Christ but killed Him and His Disciples.  Yeshua said that those days would fulfill all that is written including The Judgment for not listening to Him.  

Luke 10:16  “THE ONE WHO LISTENS TO YOU LISTENS TO ME, AND THE ONE WHO REJECTS YOU REJECTS ME; and HE WHO REJECTS ME REJECTS THE ONE WHO SENT ME.”

1 John 4:6  We are from God. 

WHOEVER KNOWS GOD LISTENS TO US; WHOEVER IS NOT FROM GOD DOES NOT LISTEN TO US. By this we know the Spirit of truth and the spirit of error.

Luke 15:1 Now ALL THE TAX COLLECTORS AND THE SINNERS WERE COMING NEAR HIM TO LISTEN TO HIM.

Matthew 10:14  AND IF ANYONE WILL NOT RECEIVE YOU OR LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS, shake off the dust from your feet when you leave that house or town.

 

Mark 6:11  AND IF ANY PLACE WILL NOT RECEIVE YOU AND THEY WILL NOT LISTEN TO YOU, when you leave, shake off the dust that is on your feet as a testimony against them.”

 

John 10:16  And I have other sheep that are not of this fold. I must bring them also, AND THEY WILL LISTEN TO MY VOICE. So there will be one flock, one shepherd.

Luke 16:14  Now the PHARISEES, who were lovers of money, WERE LISTENING to all these things and were SCOFFING AT HIM.

Luke 21:38  And ALL THE PEOPLE would get up early in the morning to COME TO HIM IN THE TEMPLE TO LISTEN TO HIM.

  Those who listen to Christ and His Words delivered by His Apostles and Disciples in the last generation before the Judgment were spared and those who did NOT LISTEN were DESTROYED!

Genesis 22:2 Then God said, “TAKE YOUR SON, YOUR ONLY SON, WHOM YOU LOVE—Isaac—and go to THE REGION OF MORIAH. Sacrifice him there as a burnt offering on a mountain I will show you.”

Genesis 22:14 So Abraham called that place THE LORD WILL PROVIDE. And to this day it is said, “ON THE MOUNTAIN OF THE LORD IT WILL BE PROVIDED.”

**YHWH provides a ram sacrifice and spares Isaac.

2 Chronicles 3:1 [ Solomon Builds the Temple ] Then Solomon began to build the temple of the Lord in Jerusalem ON MOUNT MORIAH, where the Lord had appeared to his father David. It was on the threshing floor of Araunah the Jebusite, the place provided by David.

**Did you know that Jerusalem was built upon Mt Moriah?  Interesting how over thousand years later, YHWH, would bring His Son to that same area and not spare Him. 

Romans 8:32  He who did NOT spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things?

John 3:14-18  As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, ¹⁵ that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life.¹⁶ For God so loved the world, that he GAVE HIS ONE AND ONLY SON, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life. ¹⁷ For God didn’t send his Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world should be saved through him. ¹⁸ He who believes in him is not judged. He who doesn’t believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the one and only Son of God.

1 John 4:9  In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God SENT HIS ONLY SON INTO THE WORLD, so that we might live through him. 10 This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.

Genesis 3:14 The Lord God said to the serpent, “Because you have done this, cursed are you above all livestock and above all beasts of the field; on your belly you shall go, and dust you shall eat all the DAYS of your life.15 I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring; HE SHALL BRUISE YOUR HEAD, and you shall bruise his heel.

**Does not Scripture teach that the serpent will have its head bruised?  

Romans 16:20 The God of peace will SOON crush Satan under your feet The grace of our Lord Jesus be with you.

*How long is SOON?  If you were a member of the church in Rome around 58AD to whom Paul was writing and Paul said that God will SOON crush Satan under your feet, how long is Soon?  Was Satan crushed in fulfillment of Genesis 3 or was Paul wrong, a liar and a false prophet?  

Ain't it interesting how, the crushing of the heads of enemies bruised or worse throughout Scripture are a powerful image of God keeping His promise from Genesis 3?  Here are a few passages:  

Judges 4:21 
But Jael the wife of Heber took a TENT PEG, AND TOOK A HAMMER IN HER HAND. Then she went softly to him and DROVE THE PEG INTO HIS TEMPLE UNTIL IT WENT DOWN INTO THE GROUND while he was lying fast asleep from weariness. So he died.

**Jael hammers the head of the enemies of God with a peg. 

Judges 9:53 

And a certain woman THREW AN UPPER MILLSTONE ON ABIMELECH'S HEAD AND CRUSHED HIS SKULL.

2 Samuel 11:21  

Who killed Abimelech the son of Jerubbesheth? DID NOT A WOMAN CAST AN UPPER MILLSTONE ON HIM FROM THE WALL, so that he died at Thebez? Why did you go so near the wall?’ then you shall say, ‘Your servant Uriah the Hittite is dead also.’”

**The enemy of God, Abimelech gets his head crushed by an unnamed woman.

1 Samuel 5:4   

But when they rose early on the next morning, behold, Dagon had fallen face downward on the ground before the ark of the Lord, and THE HEAD of Dagon and both his hands were lying CUT OFF on the threshold. Only the trunk of Dagon was left to him.

The Dagon statue's head was cut off before the ark of the Lord.

1 Samuel 17:5

He had a bronze helmet on his head and wore a coat of scale armor of bronze weighing five thousand shekels;

**Goliath had armor like the scales of a snake or serpent.

1 Samuel 17:46

This day the Lord will deliver you into my hand, and I will strike you down and CUT OFF YOUR HEAD. And I will give the dead bodies of the host of the Philistines this day to the birds of the air and to the wild beasts of the earth, that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel,

1 Samuel 17:51

Then David ran and stood over the Philistine and TOOK HIS SWORD AND DREW IT OUT OF ITS SHEATH AND KILLED HIM AND CUT OFF HIS HEAD with it. When the Philistines saw that their champion was dead, they fled.

**The enemy of God, Goliath gets his head cut off.

 

2 Samuel 20:21-22 

²¹ That is not true. But a man of the hill country of Ephraim, called Sheba the son of Bichri, has lifted up his hand against King David. Give up him alone, and I will withdraw from the city.” AND THE WOMAN SAID TO JOAB, “BEHOLD, HIS HEAD SHALL BE THROWN TO YOU OVER THE WALL.” ²² THEN THE WOMAN WENT TO ALL THE PEOPLE IN HER WISDOM. AND THEY CUT OFF THE HEAD OF SHEBA the son of Bichri and threw it out to Joab. So he blew the trumpet, and they dispersed from the city, every man to his home. And Joab returned to Jerusalem to the king.

**A woman saves her city from the armies of God by having the head of an enemy delivered.

Psalm 68:21

Surely God will crush the heads of his enemies, the hairy crowns of those who go on in their sins.

Psalm 74:12-14 

¹² Yet God my King is from of old,
    working salvation in the midst of the earth.¹³ You divided the sea by your might;
    YOU BROKE THE HEADS OF THE SEA MONSTERS ON THE WATERS.
¹⁴ YOU CRUSHED THE HEADS OF LEVIATHAN;
    you gave him as food for the creatures of the wilderness.

**The LORD crushes the heads of Leviathan.

Habakkuk 3:13

You went out for the salvation of your people, for the salvation of your anointed. YOU CRUSHED THE HEAD OF THE HOUSE OF THE WICKED, laying him bare from thigh to neck. Selah

**The LORD again crushed the head of the wicked.

John 19:17-18 

¹⁷ and he went out, bearing his own cross, to the place CALLED THE PLACE OF A SKULL, which in Aramaic is called Golgotha. ¹⁸ THERE THEY CRUCIFIED HIM, and with him two others, one on either side, and Jesus between them.

Ain't it awesome of God to place His Son's cross on top of the place of the skull?  This echoes back to the Genesis!  

Romans 16:20 The God of peace will SOON crush Satan under your feet The grace of our Lord Jesus be with you.

THE GENTILES WHO ARE CALLED BY MY NAME

Those who regularly study the New Testament have probably come across this phrase, "The Gentiles who are called by My Name."  Where does it come from could help us define who the gentiles are!  Clue: Be Berean and search the entire Scriptures and one will find it in the OT because Acts is quoting it from Amos.

Scripture teaches that the scattered tribes of Israel or Diaspora were THE GENTILES we see in the NT.  They were scattered among the gentile nations and became like them because of their sin of idolatry.

Check these 2 passages out:

Amos 9:9-12  “For surely I will command, AND WILL SIFT THE HOUSE OF ISRAEL AMONG ALL NATIONS, As grain is sifted in a sieve; YET NOT THE SMALLEST GRAIN SHALL FALL TO THE GROUND.10 All the sinners of My people shall die by the sword,
Who say, ‘The calamity shall not overtake nor confront us.’
11 “On that day I will raise up The tabernacle of David, which has fallen down, And repair its damages; I will raise up its ruins, And rebuild it as in the days of old;
12 That they may possess the REMNANT OF EDOM, AND ALL THE GENTILES WHO ARE CALLED BY MY NAME,”
Says the Lord who does this thing.

Acts 15:14-17  Simon has declared HOW GOD AT THE FIRST VISITED THE GENTILES TO TAKE OUT OF THEM A PEOPLE FOR HIS NAME. 15 And with this the words of the prophets agree, just as it is written:
16 ‘After this I will return
AND WILL REBUILD THE TABERNACLE OF DAVID, WHICH HAS FALLEN DOWN;
I WILL REBUILD ITS RUINS,
AND I WILL SET IT UP;
17 So that the rest of mankind may seek the Lord,
Even all THE GENTILES WHO ARE CALLED BY MY NAME,
Says the Lord who does all these things.’

**In Amos, YHWH proclaims He will sift the house of Israel among all nations to gather the grain or the remnant. v12 We see the remnant of Edom which is the Diaspora who are the GENTILES who are called by YHWH's name.

"Yet not the smallest grain shall fall to the ground" echoes:

Matthew 10:29  “Aren’t two sparrows sold for an assarion coin? Not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father’s will. ³⁰ But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. ³¹ Therefore don’t be afraid. YOU ARE OF MORE VALUE THAN MANY SPARROWS.

John 18:9   the word might be fulfilled which he spoke, “OF THOSE WHOM YOU HAVE GIVEN ME, I HAVE LOST NONE.”

John 6:39  This is the will of my Father who sent me, THAT OF ALL HE HAS GIVEN TO ME I SHOULD LOSE NOTHING, but should raise him up at the last day.

John 10:27-28   MY SHEEP HEAR MY VOICE, AND I KNOW THEM, AND THEY FOLLOW ME. ²⁸ I GIVE ETERNAL LIFE TO THEM. THEY WILL NEVER PERISH, AND NO ONE WILL SNATCH THEM OUT OF MY HAND.

Acts describes the same gentiles who are called by YHWH's Name being taken out to be His People being fulfilled 1st century.

The context of Acts 15:17 regarding "mankind" is The whole House of Israel, both northern and southern kingdoms.

Revelation 2:7

He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who conquers I will grant to eat of the TREE OF LIFE, which is in the paradise of God.’

    

Revelation 22:2

through the middle of the street of the city; also, on either side of the river, the TREE OF LIFE with its twelve kinds of fruit, yielding its fruit each month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.

    

Revelation 22:14

Blessed are those who wash their robes, so that they may have the right to the TREE OF LIFE and that they may enter the city by the gates.

    

Revelation 22:19

and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his share in the TREE OF LIFE and in the holy city, which are described in this book.

Proverbs 3:18

She is a TREE OF LIFE to those who lay hold of her; those who hold her fast are called blessed.

    

Proverbs 11:30

The fruit of the righteous is a TREE OF LIFE, and whoever captures souls is wise.

    

Proverbs 13:12

Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a desire fulfilled is a TREE OF LIFE.

    

Proverbs 15:4

A gentle tongue is a TREE OF LIFE, but perverseness in it breaks the spirit.

Ahkiong's Pesto Garlic Artichoke Jalepeno Dip

3 lbs cream cheese - microwave it to get gooey.
Parmesan shreded cheese - mix in with cream cheese
4 cloves of Garlic - mix in
1-2 can of quartered Artichoke - mix in

pickled Jalepeno- as much as you want mix in. chop it.

Pesto- make your own or get bottle pesto and put in as much as you want

Mayo- 2-3 table spoons

cook at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes; stir every 5 minutes and add more parmesan

before taking out, let the parmesan build a light brown crust.

serve with sour dough, french bread, french baguettes.

I ususally can make 4 pie tins with this batch.

Tuese's simple Adobo Chicken recipe

Tuese's simple Adobo Chicken recipe

get 2 packs of thighs; each has about 10-12 thighs. so you'll have 20-24.
Wash.
Place in a big pot.
1 cup of Datu Puti Vinegar
1 cup of Soy Sauce
1 cup brown sugar
lots of garlic
1 softball size onion
pepper, spices, bay leaf
Bring to boil for 10 min then stir around for another 5 min of boiling
then warm for 45 min.
Optional: carrots, potatoes

It will melt off the bones and melt in your mouth.
