Antarctic Circle and NOT Continent!!

The word Antarctic comes from Greek words meaning "opposite to the northern bear constellation," literally translating to "opposite the Arctic".

The word arctic means relating to the North Pole or the cold region around it. It also describes weather that is very cold and freezing. The word comes from the Greek word arktos, meaning "bear," because the region points toward the Great Bear star constellation in the night sky.
