If you believe The USA is a democracy than you have been taught wrong, deceived and/ or brainwashed, especially by leftist teachers, celebrities and politicians. 

Article 4 Section 4 

US CONSTITUTION 

“ The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion; and on Application of the Legislature, or of the Executive (when the Legislature cannot be convened) against domestic Violence.”

(*side note to the main topic of The Republic is article 4 section 4 also addresses what the democrats encourage: invasion and domestic violence!)

*** side note. Notice how there is no comma after “Nation” but in most recitals, folks pause after “Nation,”which can create a different meaning.
