THE END was NEAR 2000 years ago when it was first said. How the heck can NEAR still be NEAR 2000 years later???
"The end of all things is near. Therefore be alert and of sober mind so that you may pray."
Peter says this in the 1st century around 63 AD. So, what was "THE END OF ALL THINGS" that he was referring to that was NEAR???
Was he talking about the end of the physical world? The end of the universe? The end of roman control over them? Nope!
The end of all things or end the age pertained to ISRAEL, the destruction of the temple which symbolized THE LAW, priesthood, sacrificial system, old covenant age, return of Christ, Resurrection, Judgment, Marriage of Christ & His Bride, New Heaven & New Earth = New Covenant....
70AD is the fulfillment of Christ's prophecy that within that generation (30-70AD), the temple would come down.
Matthew 24:1-4, 34
Jesus left the temple and was walking away when his disciples came up to him to call his attention to its buildings. 2 “Do you see all these things?” he asked. “Truly I tell you, not one stone here will be left on another; every one will be thrown down.”

***Christ predicts the temples destruction in His disciples generation (30-70AD).
Disciples ask Christ 3 questions:
1. When will this happen?
2. What will be the sign: of your coming?
3. And of the end of the age?
34 Truly I tell you, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened.
**Christ predicts several things to his disciples from v4-33, then says "TRULY, THIS GENERATION WILL CERTAINLY NOT PASS AWAY UNTIL ALL THESE THINGS HAVE HAPPENED!"
In 70AD, the Roman armies DESTROYED Jerusalem.
The ALL happened in THAT GENERATION, the fulfillment of the Bible story happened!
