Obsolete Christian Rituals & Traditions

The sacraments of baptism and communion ended at the end of the old covenant age in 70 AD, at the return of Christ and destruction of Jerusalem.
The saints who were the ekklesia (called out congregation/assembly of believers; church) lived in THE LAST DAYS of Old Covenant Israel between 30-70 AD when the communion and baptism were Holy Spirit charismatically empowered to strengthen the saints as children of God during this time of Great Tribulation and the passing away of heaven and earth when Christ returned to bring this practice to an end because of His presence.
1Corinthians 11:26 For as often as YOUeat this bread and drink the cup, YOU PROCLAIM THE LORD’S DEATH UNTIL HE COMES.
BAPTISM would CEASE at the end of the age.
Matthew 28:16-20 But THE ELEVEN DISCIPLES proceeded to Galilee, to the mountain which Jesus had designated.17 When THEY saw Him, THEY worshiped Him; but some were doubtful. 18 And Jesus came up and spoke TO THEM, saying, “ALL AUTHORITY HAS BEEN GIVEN TO ME IN HEAVEN AND ON EARTH. 19 GO THEREFORE AND MAKE DISCIPLES OF ALL THE NATIONS, BAPTIZING THEM IN THE NAME OF THE FATHER AND THE SON AND THE HOLY SPIRIT, 20 TEACHING THEM TO OBSERVE ALL THAT I COMMANDED YOU; and lo, I AM WITH YOU ALWAYS, EVEN TO THE END OF THE AGE.”
When interpreting Scripture, ask the 5 W’s: who, what, where, when, why.
Who is speaking and who is being spoken to in this passage? Yeshua is speaking to THE ELEVEN DISCIPLES.
What? Yeshua is giving THE ELEVEN a Mission.
When? Around 33 AD just before Christ’s ascension.
Where? On a mountain in Galilee.
Why? Yeshua had a Mission for THE ELEVEN to make disciples of all the nations.
v17 THE ELEVEN worshipped Yeshua. Only YHWH is worthy of worship. Therefore, Yeshua is YHWH.
v18 Yeshua spoke TO THEM and NOT to you in the 21st Century. He proclaimed His Authority over the covenant world. Heaven and Earth is symbolic of the covenant of world all over Scripture.
v19 THE ELEVEN were given the task to make disciples of all THE NATIONS. Who were THE NATIONS? The House of Israel. They were to be BAPTISED.
v20 THE ELEVEN were to teach the new disciples all that Yeshua had commanded them.
Yeshua is always with His people but would be with THE ELEVEN to EMPOWER their ministry to complete their mission.
Yeshua would be with THE ELEVEN even to the end of the Age. What age were they in? The Old Covenant Age which came to an end in 70AD. The completion of their mission would be in connection with ending The Old Covenant Age. Part of the mission was baptizing the elect remnant of Israel.
BAPTISM WOULD CEASE AT THE END OF THE OLD COVENANT AGE WHEN THE ELEVEN FULFILLED THEIR MISSION.
Notice below in Mark 16:20 below how The LORD worked with the disciples in confirming the message. Verses 15-18 are all fulfilled and can be confirmed in the book of Acts and the NT.
Mark 16:14-20 Afterward HE APPEARED TO THE ELEVEN THEMSELVES as THEY were reclining at table, and he rebuked them for their unbelief and hardness of heart, because THEY had not believed those who saw him after he had risen. 15 And he said TO THEM, “GO INTO ALL THE WORLD AND PROCLAIM THE GOSPEL TO THE WHOLE CREATION. 16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. 17 AND THESE SIGNS WILL ACCOMPANY THOSE WHO BELIEVE: IN MY NAME THEY WILL CAST OUT DEMONS; THEY WILL SPEAK IN NEW TONGUES; 18 THEY WILL PICK UP SERPENTS WITH THEIR HANDS; AND IF THEY DRINK ANY DEADLY POISON, IT WILL NOT HURT THEM; THEY WILL LAY THEIR HANDS ON THE SICK, AND THEY WILL RECOVER.”
19 So then the Lord Jesus, after he had spoken TO THEM, was taken up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God. 20 And THEY went out and preached everywhere, WHILE THE LORD WORKED WITH THEM AND CONFIRMED THE MESSAGE BY ACCOMPANYING SIGNS.]]
v14 Yeshua appears to THE ELEVEN
v15 Yeshua said TO THEM, THE ELEVEN, to go into ALL THE WORLD (THE COVENANT WORLD and proclaim THE GOSPEL to the WHOLE CREATION.
v16 Whoever of the covenant people who believed and was baptized was saved. Only those who were under the law and transgressed it, needed to be saved from its penalty. Those who did not believe were condemned.
FULFILLMENT OF MARK 16:17-18
Acts 16:18 And this she kept doing for many days. Paul, having become greatly annoyed, turned and said to the spirit, “I COMMAND YOU IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST TO COME OUT OF HER.” And it came out that very hour.
Acts 19:6 And when Paul had laid his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, AND THEY BEGAN SPEAKING IN TONGUES AND PROPHESYING.
Acts 5:16 The people also gathered from the towns around Jerusalem, bringing the sick and those afflicted with unclean spirits, and THEY WERE ALL HEALED.
Acts 8:7 For UNCLEAN SPIRITS, crying out with a loud voice, CAME OUT OF MANY WHO HAD THEM, AND MANY WHO WERE PARALYZED OR LAME WERE HEALED.
Acts 28:3-5 When Paul had gathered a bundle of sticks and put them on the fire, A VIPER CAME OUT BECAUSE OF THE HEAT AND FASTENED ON HIS HAND. 4 When the native people saw the creature hanging from his hand, THEY said to one another, “No doubt this man is a murderer. Though he has escaped from the sea, Justice has not allowed him to live.” 5 HE, HOWEVER, SHOOK OFF THE CREATURE INTO THE FIRE AND SUFFERED NO HARM.
***"if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them"
-I could not find any example of a disciple not being harmed from poison but then again this is a conditional statement surrounded around the word, "IF." Plus, it could of happened and just described as signs and wonders and various miracles that were occurring during that last GENERATION.
Hebrews 2:2-4 For since the message declared by angels proved to be reliable, and every transgression or disobedience received a just retribution, 3 how shall WE escape if WE neglect such a great salvation? IT WAS DECLARED AT FIRST BY THE LORD, and it was attested to us by those who heard, 4 while GOD ALSO BORE WITNESS BY SIGNS AND WONDERS AND VARIOUS MIRACLES AND BY GIFTS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT DISTRIBUTED ACCORDING TO HIS WILL.
v2 Transgression and retribution received retribution
v3 Who is the WE in this passage? The Hebrews. Retribution is inescapable if Salvation is neglected.
Yeshua declared Salvation. Those who heard the message of salvation shared it.
v4 YHWH confirmed this ministry through His signs, wonders, miracles and gifts.
1 Corinthians 11:23-26 For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered TO YOU, that the Lord Jesus in the night in which He was betrayed took bread; 24 and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, “This is My body, which is FOR YOU; do this in remembrance of Me.” 25 In the same way He took the cup also after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood; do this, as often as YOU drink it, in remembrance of Me.” 26 For as often as YOUeat this bread and drink the cup, YOU PROCLAIM THE LORD’S DEATH UNTIL HE COMES.
v23 Who is the YOU in this passage? The Church in Corinth.
v24 Christ is proclaiming that His Body is for YOU, the covenant people, i.e., Corinthian church.
v25 The YOU again is Corinthian Church.
v26 The YOU is Corinthian Church who would continue to partake of Communion until Christ returned and that took place in the first century, 70AD.
Scripture teaches Yeshua would return in the 1st Century THIS GENERATION that He ministered among.
Matt 24:34, Matt 16:28, John 21:22, Matt 10:23, Matt 26:64, Rev 22:20, Matt 24:44, Rev 3:10, 2 Thess 1:6-8, 1 Cor 1:7, 1 cor 1:8, heb 10:37, 1 Cor 10:11, Heb 1:2, 1 john 2:18, james 5:9, rev 1:1, 1 pet 4:7, 1 cor 7:29, zech 14:1-5
Christ would come during the generation of the first Christians.
Matthew 24:34 (NASB)
34 Truly I say to you, THIS GENERATION WILL NOT PASS AWAY UNTIL ALL THESE THINGS TAKE PLACE.
Some in His audience would still be alive when He comes in His Kingdom.
Matthew 16:28
28 “Truly I say to you, there are SOME OF THOSE WHO ARE STANDING HERE WHO WILL NOT TASTE DEATH UNTIL THEY SEE THE SON OF MAN COMING IN HIS KINGDOM.”
The Apostle John would still be alive.
John 21:22
22 Jesus *said to him, “IF I WANT HIM TO REMAIN UNTIL I COME, WHAT IS THAT TO YOU? You follow Me!”
The disciples had no time to travel through all of Israel, before His coming.
Matthew 10:23
23 “But whenever they persecute you in one city, flee to the next; For Truly I Say To You, You Will Not Finish Going Through The Cities Of Israel Until The Son Of Man Comes.
The Jewish High Council would see Christ come.
Matthew 26:64
64 Jesus *said to him, “You have said it yourself; nevertheless I tell you, hereafter YOU WILL SEE THE SON OF MAN SITTING AT THE RIGHT HAND OF POWER, AND COMING ON THE CLOUDS OF HEAVEN.”
Christ promised the first Christians that He would surely come quickly.
Revelation 22:20
20 He who testifies to these things says, “Yes, I AM COMING QUICKLY.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus.
Christ instructed the first Christians to be prepared for His coming.
Matthew 24:44
44 For this reason you also must be ready; FOR THE SON OF MAN IS COMING AT AN HOUR WHEN YOU DO NOT THINK HE WILL.
Christ encouraged the first Christiansto hold on till His coming.
Revelation 3:10
10 Because you have kept the word of My perseverance, I also will keep you from the hour of testing, THAT HOUR WHICH IS ABOUT TO COME UPON THE WHOLE WORLD, to test those who dwell on the earth.
The Thessalonians would find relief at the coming of Christ.
2 Thessalonians 1:6-8
6 For after all IT IS ONLY JUST FOR GOD TO REPAY WITH AFFLICTION THOSE WHO AFFLICT YOU, 7 AND TO GIVE RELIEF TO YOU WHO ARE AFFLICTED AND TO US AS WELL WHEN THE LORD JESUS WILL BE REVEALED FROM HEAVEN WITH HIS MIGHTY ANGELS IN FLAMING FIRE, 8 DEALING OUT RETRIBUTION to those who do not know God and to those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus.
The Corinthians waited eagerly for Christ.
1 Corinthians 1:7
7 so that you are not lacking in any gift, AWAITING EAGERLY THE REVELATION OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST,
Christ would keep the Corinthians strong until He came.
1 Corinthians 1:8
8 WHO WILL ALSO CONFIRM YOU TO THE END, BLAMELESS IN THE DAY OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST.
It would only be a little while, Christ would not delay.
Hebrews 10:37
37 FOR YET IN A VERY LITTLE WHILE,
HE WHO IS COMING WILL COME, AND WILL NOT DELAY.
The end of the ages had come on the first Christians.
1 Corinthians 10:11
11 Now these things happened to them as an example, and they were WRITTEN FOR OUR INSTRUCTION, UPON WHOM THE ENDS OF THE AGES HAVE COME.
The first Christians were in the last days.
Hebrews 1:2
2 IN THESE LAST DAYS HAS SPOKEN TO US IN HIS SON, whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the world.
They were in the last hour.
1 John 2:18
18 Children, IT IS THE LAST HOUR; and just as you heard that antichrist is coming, even NOW MANY ANTICHRISTS HAVE APPEARED; from this WE KNOW THAT IT IS THE LAST HOUR.
The Judge was already at the door.
James 5:9
9 Do not complain, brethren, against one another, so that you yourselves may not be judged; behold, THE JUDGE IS STANDING RIGHT AT THE DOOR.
Everything would take place shortly.
Revelation 1:1
1 The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave Him to show to His bond-servants, THE THINGS WHICH MUST SOON TAKE PLACE; and He sent and communicated it by His angel to His bond-servant John,
1 Peter 4:7
7 THE END OF ALL THINGS IS NEAR; therefore, be of sound judgment and sober spirit for the purpose of prayer.
1 Corinthians 7:29
29 But this I say, brethren, THE TIME HAS BEEN SHORTENED, SO THAT FROM NOW ON THOSE WHO HAVE WIVES SHOULD BE AS THOUGH THEY HAD NONE;
The Lord would come with His holy ones, and stand on the mount of Olives during the siege of Jerusalem. This happened in 70AD.
Zechariah 14:1-5
14 Behold, a day is coming for the Lord when the spoil taken from you will be divided among you. 2 For I will gather all the nations against Jerusalem to battle, and the city will be captured, the houses plundered, the women ravished and half of the city exiled, but the rest of the people will not be cut off from the city. 3 Then the Lord will go forth and fight against those nations, as when He fights on a day of battle. 4 IN THAT DAY HIS FEET WILL STAND ON THE MOUNT OF OLIVES, WHICH IS IN FRONT OF JERUSALEM ON THE EAST; AND THE MOUNT OF OLIVES WILL BE SPLIT IN ITS MIDDLE FROM EAST TO WEST BY A VERY LARGE VALLEY, SO THAT HALF OF THE MOUNTAIN WILL MOVE TOWARD THE NORTH AND THE OTHER HALF TOWARD THE SOUTH. 5 You will flee by the valley of My mountains, for the valley of the mountains will reach to Azel; yes, you will flee just as you fled before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah. Then the Lord, my God, will come, and all the holy ones with Him!
***The saints or ekklesia lived in THE LAST DAYS of Old Covenant Israel between 33-70 AD when the communion and baptism were Holy Spirit charismatically empowered to strengthen the saints as children of God during this time of Great Tribulation and the passing away of heaven and earth....
It's done.
Are people who call themselves “The Christian Church” today empowered by The Holy Spirit like we see in Scripture?
NO!
This is called, “Playing Church!”
The church today is UN-unified, divided, teaching diametrically opposing doctrine, lacking the power of Holy Spirit miracles like raising the dead, growing back limbs, multiplying fish, bread....
1 Corinthians 11:27-32
Whoever, therefore, eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty concerning the body and blood of the Lord. 28 Let a person examine himself, then, and so eat of the bread and drink of the cup. 29 For anyone who eats and drinks without discerning the body eats and drinks judgment on himself. 30 That is why many of you are weak and ill, and some have died. 31 But if we judged ourselves truly, we would not be judged. 32 But when we are judged by the Lord, we are disciplined so that we may not be condemned along with the world.
***Why hasn’t there ever been any reports outside of the Bible of people being killed by God for eating and drinking unworthily and undiscerningly?
A: Because it was only for that last generation of Israelites Christians that were sealed by the Holy Spirit and redeemed by Yeshua and this ended in 70AD.
***We all know the story of God killing the lying couple, Ananias and Sapphira! Why isn’t this still taking place?
A: The Holy Spirit was only for the last generation of Israelites redeemed from 30-70AD.
Acts 5:10-16
Immediately she fell down at his feet and breathed her last. When the young men came in they found her dead, and they carried her out and buried her beside her husband. 11 And great fear came upon the whole church and upon all who heard of these things.
Many Signs and Wonders Done
12 Now many signs and wonders were regularly done among the people by the hands of the apostles. And they were all together in Solomon's Portico. 13 None of the rest dared join them, but the people held them in high esteem. 14 And more than ever believers were added to the Lord, multitudes of both men and women, 15 so that they even carried out the sick into the streets and laid them on cots and mats, that as Peter came by at least his shadow might fall on some of them. 16 The people also gathered from the towns around Jerusalem, bringing the sick and those afflicted with unclean spirits, and they were all healed.
***The Holy Spirit isn’t killing lying peeps like Ananias and Sapphira any more but we all know evil disgusting pos in the “church” that have lied about stealing money and sleeping with the secretaries!!! And these MF are still in the “ministry!?”
***notice the multitude growing in v14 like into a Great Multitude! ;-)
Baptism and Communion can be likened to the Moses bringing Israel into the promise land. During that time The Holy Spirit supplied Israel with bread or manna from Heaven; and water from the rock as sustenance during this 40 year period. So, too, The Holy Spirit empowers the ekklesia during the transition time into The True Promiseland, God’s House & Mansion.
