THE GOSPEL, THE GOOD NEWS THAT SAVES YOUR SOUL FROM GOD

THE GOSPEL, THE GOOD NEWS THAT SAVES YOUR SOUL FROM GOD

The Gospel of Jesus Christ deals with God's eternal message of redemption for a world of sinners who are lost (consigned to be destroyed), dead in trespasses (Eph.2, Rom. 1-7), and totally without hope in this world. God sent His only begotten Son, Jesus, born of the virgin Mary, took on human nature (incarnate), ministered to lost humanity, and at the Cross, He shed His precious blood as a fulfillment of the Old Testament sacrificial system, to pay for the sins of all the sinners that God had given to Him, yet He remained sinless. So He conquered spiritual death and earned heaven for all who put their trust in Him. Man does not find God (He is incapable of doing that) but rather God finds man, and draws him to Himself in salvation.

Man does not become saved by keeping a bunch of rules or laws. No matter how much he would attempt to fulfill them perfectly, he can never do it perfectly enough to merit salvation. But Jesus Christ did fulfill all of God's Law perfectly and so only He was able to become a perfect sacrifice for God's elect. Does it seem strange that God passed over any of mankind and did not elect them? What is more amazing is that God would save ANY sinful human beings. So if we are saved and can look to Jesus as the One who died for our sins, how gracious God has been to us.

If we do not have this personal relationship with God through His Son, then there is nothing that the person can do to save himself or gain God's favor. All he can really do is simply cast himself on God's mercy and pray to God that somehow, sometime God will be pleased to extend mercy and grace to raise this lost sinner from the dead (spiritually) and save him.

How does a person's life change when God saves him? First of all, God justifies the newly saved one by DECLARING him righteous in a legal fashion, but sin still lingers so the person himself, while he sins less, is never changed in this life to the extent that he can keep God's Law perfectly, so he will ALWAYS need Christ as the BASIS of his salvation. After he is justified in becoming a Christian, then God, through His Spirit, works in the newly saved person's heart and brings him in his daily life, to sin less and grow in likeness to Jesus Christ. When God calls him Home at physical death, God gives him a new glorified body, like Christ's perfect resurrection body, fit for dwelling in heaven forever with Jesus. Wow!! WHAT A GOSPEL!!!

1. A LOVING CREATOR CONTINUALLY BLESSES US.
Psa 145:9 The LORD is good to all, and his mercy is over all that he has made.

2. AS UNGRATEFUL CREATURES, WE REBEL AGAINST HIM.
Rom 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

3. SO RIGHTEOUS JUDGMENT AWAITS US ALL.
Eze 18:20 The soul who sins shall die...
Rom 6:23 "The wages of sin is death..."

4. BUT GOD HAS MADE A COVENANT OF GRACE.
Eph 2:8-9 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-- not by works, so that no one can boast.
Eph 2:5 even when we were dead in our trespasses, God made us alive together with Christ--by grace you have been saved—

5. CHRIST ACCOMPLISHED UNDESERVED SALVATION FOR SINNERS.
Eph 1:7 In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our
trespasses, according to the riches of his grace,
1 Tim 1:15 "Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners..."

6. TO BE SAVED ONE MUST REPENT AND BELIEVE, ENABLED BY THE HOLY SPIRIT.
Acts 3:19 "Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out"
Acts 16:31 "Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved"

7. THOSE WHO ARE SAVED LEAD NEW LIVES.
2Co 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.
2Cor 5:15 And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again.

Jesus is The Good News. Only God can save you from God. All other options leaves you under His wrath.
