THE GOODNEWS OF CHRISTMAS- JESUS IS THE GOODNEWS
…for today in Bethlehem there has been born for you a Savior, Who is Christ the Lord.Luke 2:11The word “Savior” means “Rescuer.” The word “Christ” means “Messiah, Anointed, Chosen One of God.” The word “Lord” means “God, King, Master, Ruler.” And the word “Bethlehem” means “house of bread.”

1. A LOVING GOD CONTINUALLY BLESSES PEOPLE.  ·Psa 145:9The LORD is good to all, and his mercy is over all that he has made.

2. AS UNGRATEFUL CREATURES, WE REBEL AGAINST GOD.  The Bible teaches thatall, everyone has sinned. Rom 3.23. Sin is doing wrong when you know what is right; it is breaking God's law; it is living life your way instead of God's way; it is treason against God and makes you God's enemy. Col 1.21, Eph 2
3. SO RIGHTEOUS JUDGMENT AWAITS US ALL (We all deserve justice. Justice is getting what one deserves. ).· Eze 18:20 The soul who sins shall die... Rom 6:23 The wages of sin is death…  Sinners are enemies of God who have earned and deserve the penalty for their sins, which is eternal death. [This is really bad news.] Why? The reason is because the Creator of the universe is infinitely Holy, Holy, Holy and we have committed treason in offending Him by breaking His Holy Law. In fact, we're all waiting in line to die. We’ll all cross over to the other side of life with or without a Savior. Ponder this thought! You are on death row. You are appointed to die once and then face judgment. Heb 9.27
4. BUT GOD HAS MADE A PROMISE OF GRACE (Grace is getting what one does not deserve; a gift. God has also shown us Mercy, which is not getting what you deserve.). Eph 2:5 …even when we (God’s people) were dead in our trespasses and sins, God made us alive together with Christ--by grace you have been saved— So why was this Savior born? Answer: Jesus was born as the Chosen One of God and was given the "…name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins."Matt 1:21 Will Jesus fail at saving His people?  If one is NOT saved, then that person is NOT part of Jesus’ people.

5. CHRIST ACCOMPLISHED UNDESERVED SALVATION FOR SINNERS.  Eph 1:7 In him we (God’s people) have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace, · 1 Tim 1:15"Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners..." Jesus came to rescue His people from what they deserve, wrath. Amazingly, when Jesus was born, angels praised God saying, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests." Luke 2.14 This passage is not speaking of peace between warring nations, like The U.S.A. and Iraq, or feuding families, rather, it is declaring that there is no more war between God and certain people in the world whom God has given undeserved favor, peace and pardon (Amazing Grace). Rom 5.1 Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we (those who trust Jesus) have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.Jesus’ name means “The Lord saves.” Jesus saves His people from their sin by being their perfect substitute in dying in their place for them.
6. TO BE SAVED WE MUST REPENT AND BELIEVE, ENABLED BY THE HOLY SPIRIT. When they heard this, they quieted down and glorified God, saying, "Well then, GOD HAS GRANTED to the Gentiles also the Repentance That Leads To Life." Acts 11:8
"Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved" Acts 3:19
For it has BEEN GRANTED to you on behalf of Christ not only TO BELIEVE in him, but also to suffer for him, Phil 1:29 Those who are His people will repent (change their mind about living for sin and live for Jesus) and come to Him in faith, trusting Him to take all their sins away and grant them eternal, everlasting, abundant, overflowing life.

7. THOSE WHO ARE SAVED LEAD NEW LIVES.    Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. ·*And he died for all that those who live should no longer live for them selves but for him who died for them and was raised again.  2Cor 5:17, 15We all hunger and thirst for love, peace, security, meaning, identity, significance, joy, belonging, forgiveness, purpose... We try to find life in money, sex, power, pleasure, family, status, popularity, work... but all these things leave us empty. This emptiness that's experienced inside our hearts is the result of sin. In fact, it is idolatry when we trust in anything apart from God for our liveliness. Nothing in this world can fill our hearts. There is a God-shaped vacuum that can only be filled by God. He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also, He has put eternity into man’s heart, yet so that he cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end. Eccl 3.11 Jesus is the One who can satisfy and fill the God-shaped vacuum we hunger and thirst for. Jesus was born in Bethlehem, “the house of bread” and Jesus declared, declared, “I am the bread of life.Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.John 6.35  If one does not come to Jesus, they will hunger and thirst forever.

If we’ve missed Jesus this season, we’ve missed the Christmas message. The root meaning of Christmas is “The sending of Christ,” God’s gift.  John 3:16"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. If you’ve never known, HEAVEN IS A FREE GIFT.  This is extremely Good News in light of what we deserve and have earned.  This gift cannot be earned, deserved or merited, Eph 2.8-9. God gives this gift to whom so ever He desires. Those who receive this gift, do so by God's grace through faith.  God’s grace convicts and breaks a person; causes them to fear The Lord and hate their sin.  God’s grace also casts out fear of judgment and floods the soul with rightesouness, peace and joy.

God Bless you richly with the Greatest Gift of All, The Treasure of the Universe, God Himself!!! Mr. Tuese  Ahkiong
